La grimpette c’est drôlement chouette Car plus c’est haut plus c’est beau Un sentir tout en marches mais le panorama est magnifique !
Great hike! Wouldn’t recommend for beginner hikers but could be done! We did skala and made it to mytikas but it was a little nerve wracking without proper equipment. Felt great to get to the top but unfortunately it was very cloudy so you couldn’t see much. Great experience especially staying at the refuge!
Ignore the GPS on mine for this, I don't know what it was doing. We couldn't quite make it to Skala or Mytikas as when we were about 400m from Skala, we were in the clouds, were getting wet and it was very windy so decided it was too dangerous to continue. This was in November so wouldn't recommend it this time or year if you want to be guaranteed to make it to the summit. The refuge is closed this time of year, however we met people who were camping in tents in the refuge area. There was no water there, but there is water in the car park and one spring water fountain after that. We set off at 6:30 and got back to the car park at 16:10, so this is possible to do in one day if you set off early enough and have enough daylight. Me and my partner aren't experienced hikers but we still managed it, however it was challenging. Beautiful views all the way up and would definitely recommend this route.
It was awesome and very hard. I didn’t completed the trail due to time. Highly recommend: start early morning, wear hiking shoes and dress in layers, bring water and maybe walking sticks. It is steep most of the time. I wish I had more time to make it to the top, but def doable in one day.
I found the trail was easy to do if you are in very good shape. Not technical. Started from the parking lot at 6:00 up to the top and back the same day at 16:30.
Did this mid July and it was fantastic! The theme of this hike is vertical and then some more vertical. Many people do this in two days while sleeping at the refuge station. Station has food, water, and supplies. After the station it is slow going because of the vert. Most of it is runnable downhill. Give praise to Zeus at the top!
@NikolasVal and @SteliosPantazis Did you do this in the winter? I am going to be there in the middle of Feb. Also, does it really take 2 days? It is only 11 miles and I have done much higher mountains at 14 miles in 1 day. What do you think is it possible to do in 1 day? And Is it wise?
Great landscape and to reach the top, Mytigas. If you do go, get a safety helmet. Stones may fall at the very top.
a classic!
