Nice hike! Completed in about 2.5 hours. There are some serious inclines but all hikers for sure should go! Very pretty

Steep hill but worth the view! Beautiful coming down. You can see a lot of nature and animals (deer).

I really like this trail, I usually run to Santa margaritas from Ladera Ranch at weekend

They don’t call it dreaded hill for nothing.

love this trail, but currently closed due to wildfires.

This hike humbled me! Training for half dome so wanted to do a difficult hike And that I did. Haven’t been hiking much lately but do a lot of walking every day and this hike let me know just how out of shape I am and what I need to do to make my experience much much better. I will not do this hike again until I’m in better shape. Overall not a bad hike if they would just lose those steep inclines. Red Rock was cool and The views from Vista point are pretty amazing. Saw some wildlife, deer rabbits and all kinds of birds. This trail is doable even if you’re a little out of shape but you just might not enjoy it as much as if you were in better shape.

Very pretty on a clear day! The last part is the toughest. $3 to park and they had security on a Sunday checking the parking lot.
I added Red Rock-only a mile more total to the hike and very worth it.

Lots of parking, but gates don't open till 7 so don't go too early... Not hard at all-we went further and was very enjoyable!

If you do this hike in the summer, start early, it gets very hot. Best to start by 6 am. Challenging hike but the view at the top is well worth it. Bring plenty of water, I drank almost 4 liters.

Nice tree cover on the earlier sections of the trail. Saw a decent amount of bikers and other hikers passing us in both directions on the trail. View at the top was very nice. Start early because it gets hot!

This was an awesome, but brutal hike!! Bring plenty of water/electrolytes, food/snacks and a bandana for the dust from trucks and motorcycles! I drank plenty of water on the way up but still ended up cramping pretty bad! We hit the trail head at 6:30am and it took us 9 hours! ✔️one off my bucket list! ✌

Thanks to my Dreaded Hill hike, I found out I was really out of shape!
A hard, steep, fast elevation gain of 700 feet in a mile. No Shade, pretty views on a clear day.
Back to the gym, before I return.

6/23/18. Brutal hike for me. Make sure to bring a lot of water. Drank 9 bottles round trip. Pack a bandana to cover your mouth from the dust left behind motorbikes and trucks. Enjoyed the first half. Dirt and very demanding the last half, but I am 67, lol.
Went slow and it took 9 hours, 41,000+ steps!
Hike on a cool day, no shade near the top.
Very inspired when we made it.

Note: The dirt road that leads to this trail is rough and not suitable for most sedans. Mid to high clearance vehicles are recommended.

This is a beautiful canyon hike with a good amount of shade. It’s pretty busy though, so if you’re not a fan of crowds, come during the week or early on the weekend.

awesome, easy, shade!

Good training hike. Lots of wildlife - deer, rabbits, snakes, birds. Not too many people. Some shade on the rout to dreaded hill.

I liked this hike, with the exception of the sections along Main Divide Road. The motorcyclists wouldn't even slow down when passing, leaving clouds of dust in their wake. The 4 wheeled vehicle operators were a bit more considerate, however through some sections of the road I was walking faster than the vehicle immediately in front of me and had to slow down for them as they maneuvered the rough terrain.

I completed this in just under 6 hours.

Great family hike. Lost a pair of Maui Jim prescription glasses today, though. If found, please call Jason at 714-910-4101.

Accessible via Indian truck trail from corona and you need a 4wd to make it to the top by the antennas. Views are wonderful.

Its a beautiful trail but not easy to follow the signs for the peak are missing so we took a 3 mile detour and ended up taking the fire road up to the summit all in all 21 some odd miles. Ouch. Lots of vehicles on the fire roads and they will drive around you rather than giving you right away so be aware.

Great hike, did 8 miles including Dreaded Hill, 700 feet up in one mile! I love the trails in Whiting Ranch, have no problems hiking alone here. Love all the wildlife I always see, including a mommy and baby deer today

Occasional bikers. (I was one of them til I broke a couple bones—twice!)

Started at Concourse Park, pick up a map at the trail head, the maps are easy to follow and Whiting Ranch is well sign posted. I went up Dreaded Hill along to Four Corners and then down Whiting Ranch. Dreaded Hill is named that way for a reason! Still fun though if you stop for breathers and water occasionally, fabulous views along the way and there’s a nice bench to rest for a bit at the top! I did this on an 80* afternoon, not too bad, but would advise plenty of water, good trail shoes and maybe a snack if you haven’t eaten beforehand. My route was a little over 4 miles total (great for cardio), but there are plenty of other trails in the park if you want to extend your hike.

Nice hike. Great little falls at the end

Nice trail, slow steady incline all the way up.
Didnt do the last “loop” once I hit the dirt road on top: there were too many motorcycles on the road and didn’t wanna be inhaling dirt for 4miles.
70% shaded. Nice wild flowers. Great for endurance training. Blessed with Sunny and 65F today but definitely can see lots of water needed on a hot day.
Will be back on a weekday to finish the top: hopefully less motorcycles.

Incline trail. I grade this trail moderate/hard. We parked on street that led to trail, why drive? The views were okay, the leg workout was good. Keep in mind the trail is full of uneven ground, holes. If your okay with the incline being most of your trail, this is for you! Wish I could post trail pictures for you, don’t know how though.

Gate is closed 2miles before parking lot and notice posted saying Emergency closure April 20th through May 18th, 2018. I’ll try to post photo of sign warning $5,000 fines for being in area.

My second time doing this trail. Wasn’t able to complete it the first time. But came back and finished today! Great trail with nice views challenging carry plenty of water it’s a little over 16 miles. Do it really early to avoid the heat! Loved it

Awesome Hike! Kids loved it and Mother Nature Gave us a lot of shade along with some nice breeze through the openings of the canyons. Kids will Be Kids, bring extra socks and shoes, A Good possibility they will purposely splash crossing the creeks.

My primary concern was getting my Scion xB up to the trailhead. I left early in the morning and drove a slow 10 mph but it managed! Decent amount of water on the falls.
