Creek crossings up after rain. No way to get over without getting wet. Lots of multi floral rose to snag you along the way. Trail was well marked.

Went here in August. trail was pretty overgrown. Walk in the woods but no real significant views. There were a couple creek crossings, but i will not go back unless dead of winter. I climbed out of there and was covered in hundreds of seed ticks even though i had sprayed down in deet.

Great hike! Plenty to see. Some small creek beds to cross and great distance for an easy workout.

Very easy hike with well-groomed trail. Some pretty wooded sections, but altogether underwhelming scenery. Good for a very short little jaunt and for walking with dogs.

This was a really cool hike! Right now (August) all the water was very very low, so we managed to avoid getting wet at all. There were really cool places you could climb and so many unique sights to see. Also, there was like nobody there, which was really nice. The only thing negative was it wasn't marked well. There were arrows and letters, but we didn't know what any if it meant and there were arrows pointing in every direction so that didn't help at a fork in the road... There were way more trails the the "3 mile trail" they advertise. We ended up hiking about 4 miles because the trails were confusing. Which was fun, don't get me wrong! We had a baby on a schedule, so it was a little frustrating, but we made it back okay, it just took longer than expected. Will go back--and will prolly research the maps a little better so we know our way more.

Nice riding for Central Missouri

Great for walking but to narrow and for running.

Great host and nice camp. Underutilized trail.

Great trail that goes through a lot of water. It was a nice hike in a hot summer day with lots of beautiful scenery. But seriously, be prepared to get wet.

Not very well marked..

this is a great little trail. very easy and very pretty walking by the lake.

Fun trail, but even more fun if you're someone who likes to venture off the trail. Lots of streams with cool bluff lines to explore.

descent mountain biking trails for the area. Also a good place to kayak, but watch out for the stumps just under the water line.

Nice winter hike, even seen a bald eagle.

Nice short hike for a rainy day

We chose to hike the Lake View trail. The hike starts in the campground and encircles the campground. Easy trail but hard to find the trail head. Drive past the airport, look for the campground entrance the trail starts at the campground's check in booth. I suggest taking the north entry the south entry is a confused mess. Took about an hour to hike.

A beautiful easy trail that takes you along the lake and through the woods. A beautiful area any time of the year!

These trail have a little bit of everything. They are also not incredibly difficult so you can do it with a bike that has no suspension.

There is a camp host now at Pine Ridge. Been there MANY times. Had a drunk that was at the camp host area come up yelling at me in the middle of the night because he thought I got too close to his tent. I hadn't noticed it until a minute before and was getting away from it. I was verbally abused, sworn at, threatened then the host told me I couldn't go to the rest room that there are many places I could use. (In the bushes). I was very frightened and stayed up most of the night. Otherwise it's a good campsite.

This is Three Creeks Conservation Area!

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

This is a nice little trail for almost any time of the year. The majority of this trail winds back and forth through the trees until arriving at a creek. The trail crosses a cow pasture or two but those are very short and marked with metal gates. Once across the creek, the trail follows the road for a short distance before starting back into the trees. A few miles after this, you will arrive at Dry Fork. Past Dry Fork, the trail continues down the unpaved road. There are plenty of nice places to camp in between the two campsites. Horses do occasionally come through and many of the hills that lead down to water sources have been washed out or are slow to dry out and muddy. Still, a nice little trail and an easy dayhike.

This is a nice trail with varying levels of difficulty depending on which route you take. There are several trails added through the grasslands (which are mowed) which do not show up on the map. The southernmost trail which runs east-west along the park border was quite overgrown when I went through it, the rest of the trails are well-groomed and easy.

Nice trail. Some letter markers are missing but if you take the paper map with you, it's fine, follows right along the trail map. Arrows are ok.

It was fun! Lots of good variance in terrain and a beautiful view!

Well maintained campground, great scenery around the area. I've camped here a number of times, both with Scouts and on my own. Gets you out in nature yet close to civilization.

My experience is that it is really busy. Many times every spot in the campground is taken.

If you would like some more seclusion, try Dry Fork campground down the road. Still part of the national forest, just a little more secluded and peaceful.

I live very very close to these trails. I go hop on them a few times a week for some hiking exercise. There are five to choose from, I take the kids on the 2 mile red trail and they really enjoy it. The Yellow is the longest and goes next to the lake for a lot of it, very pretty. My favorite is the Blue, it crosses a creek several times and has lots of flowers.

Great place for hiking! Peaceful and just the sounds of nature could be heard.

I love to go here in the cooler weather, as the wind does not bite too much, and it is just enough to spend an hour or so, and get back home without going too far.

These Trails offer a brief escape from the city. However they prove rather dificult if it's recently rained. Trails are marked but narrow. The Devil Backbone is fun but quick. Some of the best views are well off the beaten path but knowing what land is park land or private may prove to be a bit of a challenge. During the summer months trails can become overgrown and difficult to follow. I recomend winter hiking.
