We have done this walk before a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The fisherman's way on the castle side of the river is more challenging than the other side of the river but very rewarding. The nice thing is when you get back to the National Trust car park you can have a treat at the café.
Excellent. Nothing madly arduous but enough gradients to get the heart pumping. Otterton is quite lovely but will get very busy at peak holiday times so unless you're early, parking could be a lottery.
Lovely walk - very easy paths to follow and some spectacular views. Walk to the headland first (clockwise) and the hard work will be over in the first 30 mins or so and the first view of the sea is breathtaking.
Such a lovely walk! Stunning views on the coastline, would highly recommend.
Family friendly walk with differing terrain
An easy to moderate route which we all enjoyed. Great long beach views from the top. A bit too much country lane for me but loved it anyway. A nice way to pass the afternoon :-)
Loved the multiple terrain we encountered!
Amazing walk, took 3 hours with a short stop in between for a sandwich. Recommended walk.
Amazing costal path route.
All in all, a fine walk. We started from the Woodbury Castle car park. The first third or so is through heathland and then descends into a pleasant wooded walk. It should be noted that there are a couple of shallow streams to cross which are no problem in proper walking shoes but trainers might leave you with soggy feet. The pond was...interesting. See pics!
It was a good route
very poor, could not find the start point.
Hardcore vertical hike on hardcore but walk & views made up for climbs.
Great walk , lots pf trails to go off on
Easy. Not muddy!!
Need your hiking boots as little bit muddy in places but beautiful walk and good views
We started this walk from by the school and leisure centre, which has parking. We headed through the town and and out towards Stapleton and up over Stapleton hill, we then followed the route down towards Kinsham, taking a slight detour to take a look around Upper Kinsham Church before heading towards Coombe Moor and up the side of Brandhill Wood. Stopped at the conveniently placed bench for a cuppa and to admire the views and take photo's, before continuing our journey up through Wapley Hill Fort, heading out towards Stansbatch before turning towards Rodd Hurst and heading back into Presteigne along the old railway line. The route incorporates a couple of hill climbs and is a little muddy in places although the views and the surrounding countryside make it all worth it.
Very VERY steep at the beginning had to give up and change route half way.
Quite boggy (during February) but nice walk overall and nice scenery..
Family friendly, great views.
Loved this trail even in the mist. Would be amazing views the whole way if it wasn’t for the cloud cover though this didn’t affect enjoyment
Nice stomp. It was winter time so it was cold, wet and very misty, but still a lovely walk.
Great walk even in January!
