Really enjoyed the trail, felt longer than 5.4 miles but was a nice trail

Such an interesting trail, with bridges, steps, and different paths. It is in a pretty neighborhood, too! Muddy, so bring sneakers, but didn’t get any cuts and bruises as the other traveler, so can’t speak to that. Was in August.

Not walkable. Too much trash.

LOVED IT!!!! Did the loop and it was a great challenge! Beautiful with lots of streams for my pups to get into to cool off and drink. Will be back!

Good hike but not a loop trail as I thought it was only 3. 1/2 miles also be very aware of your surroundings very intrusive poison ivy had to go to the hospital

Go to one miler for the family. My 3 year old easily keeps up and can climb up to the top of the rock formation. Not blazed but the path is really clear.

this loop is actually about 7 miles, so account for that. if you save the high point for last, you'll be doing a significant amount of uphills, so bring water and good shoes. we couldn't figure out how to find the rock outcropping for a view and didnt have time to look around, as a thunderstorm started rolling in. nice trail though. peaceful, and a nice way to get in some distance.

Super easy hike and easy for anyone just beginning

This is to be an awesome place to take novelist mountain bikers and to go horse riding. It had a little bit of everything. Then somebody with their Infinite Wisdom decided to make it off limits to everybody except hikers. This caused all the trails to get overgrown with weeds and jager bushs. Very sad.

Really enjoyed this trail with my two year old and my husband.

If you hate snakes, be prepared. Not small snakes either. This hike is beautiful and super fun to explore and walk close to the water but there are a lot of water snakes on the rocks and trails. The vegetation reminds you of being somewhere tropical. Easy, relaxing hike. Great hike for all that enjoy hiking and exploring. You should wear hiking shoes, I saw multiple people wear sandals and there are many places to trip and fall. The trail isn’t flat by any means, and you need to watch where you step.

Easy, level, and well cleared trail. Nice overlook tower near the high point. Enjoyed this hike with my husband and dog.

Nice hike for an overnight backpacking trip. Trail can be pretty muddy in wet weather, especially around Seven Springs where morons tear it up on bicycles despite the signs saying not to. The steep descent and equally steep ascent around the 6 mile mark is pretty tough.

We walked this with our Shiba, it was very dog friendly with water cool down spots for her. The old growth part that loggers didn't get to is enchanting. So different from second growth forests. Would highly recommend this trail.

I took my 2 and 4 year old on this trail and it was the perfect training wheels trail. A couple muddy bits and a few hills but very well maintained. Also moderately trafficed.

A beautiful trail from Garrett to Meyersdale, the girlfriend and I headed here for her first slightly "longer" rail trail. The area is beautiful and the viaduct provides a breathtaking vista. The former station at Meyersdale, which now serves as a historic society museum was a great source of information with very friendly staff. If you get to stop we both highly recommend the GI Dayroom Coffee house to refuel. The ride to Meyersdale is a very slight grade, almost imperceptible, but the ride back is a treat for anyone who wants to release their inner speed freak. We will definitely be returning for a longer trip once she gets herself more comfortable.

The trail head is easy to get to. It's just directly over the Bridge from 'downtown' Ohiopyle . Fun trail climbing over rocks near the water. I started the trip clockwise (by mistake) and when the trail started heading into the forest, I wanted to stay by the water because it was just so nice that I just followed the trail back the way I came counterclockwise- took about an hour to do it that way and I just skipped being in the woods cuz they had some mosquitos. The highlight is really being by the water.

You can’t even climb the tower

Easy hike and great scenery.

Great trail for a day hike. I would travel counterclockwise and there are a few areas where you can venture away from the trail towards the river for some great scenery of the rapids. If you are in the area go ahead and put this on your list!

At first, we were reluctant of this trail, because it took forever to get to from our car and the hiking path was difficult to find as we were taken through the main parking lot across a road, through cabins, etc. I recommend doing the loop in the other direction than we did it, starting at the Hemlock Trail which begins near the bridge.

The water features on this hike are definitely a highlight. We also enjoyed the hemlock old growth forest. We had no idea this existed.

Great hike

Nice wide rail trail, can be fairly busy during prime times but usually quiet, has a nice little festival once a year

This definitely is a great place to go to. Many trails to go to, awesome vistas, and being able to be on the top of Pennsylvania is pretty cool. I definitely got some amazing photos here. My only complaint—it is a bit difficult to navigate and find more things, but if you know where you’re going and what you’re doing, this would be an awesome place for you. Don’t go off trail, though—I came close to a timber rattlesnake.

Great hike for a beginner

Great hike with beautiful scenery and a wonderful outlook towards the middle. I definitely would consider this trail moderate difficult rather than easy, though. Quite a bit up upward climbing! Lovely trail.

love this park... period.
