It’s a very nice trail !!

Nice urban walk with lots of options to extend on adjacent paths. Definitely worth a visit when you are in town with a little time to kill.

well maintained trail. not too hard but not too easy. I did the whole thing and was definitely tired by the time I got back to the trailhead. minor elevation changes.

much better alternative to the classic Mt Sanitas route! stood and watched hummingbirds buzzing around in the first meadow!!

It was an awesome hike along the river. Some awesome campsites off to the sides. It is a bit busy along those but once you are about half a mile in, it’s beautiful and pretty much empty. We would definitely hike here again.

loved it! we even heard and saw a bald eagle! 1st hike for our Blue Heeler, abs she loved it.

Fun trail but I’d rate this moderate vs. easy if you are a new hiker or going with kids and/or pets. There is quite an incline! Our kids and dogs LOVED this trail but if it’s too hot out, you may want to steer clear, because there is absolutely no cover - 100% direct sunlight, very dry trail. 2 benches to stop and rest: one is halfway up and another at the top. Nice rocky pathways in some areas, cactus to see, a few trees, views are gorgeous! Watch out for rattlesnakes though. We didn’t see any, but there were signed warnings everywhere.

Great hike and easy for kids. Saw a deer.

This is one of our favorite trails! Kid friendly and a nice family hike

Once again you can never tell what the rating system AllTrails uses.i would say the rating of moderate doesn’t seem to fit. I would rate the climb in to be difficult. The distance to be easy and the descent technically challenging. Morning rides are less packed and 5pm everyone and their brother/sister hits it after work. High traffic for sure on weekends and evening. I’ve seen lots of people carrying their bikes up hill and going ass over apple cart on the descent. Some may say it’s the line you take. There is some truth tho that.
I would tell my friends to ride it in the morning. that it’s lots of fun on the down hill and the climb is a challenge. It’s a trail short enough to do laps. Enjoy!!!

Hot. Very exposed trail with little shade. Halfway the trail dips down and it was water covered so we couldn’t do the whole thing. Pretty disappointing!

I absolutely love this trail. Wide open plains, trails around the foothills and narrow trails through the trees up into the mountains. Riding through the foothills of Lyons is just so beautiful. I heard watch for rattlesnakes on the rocks by the trails but haven’t see any. I love it here!
IMO horses need boots or shoes for sure through some of the really rocky areas. It’s mostly smooth sailing but I still wouldn’t go without them. Parking for trailers is an easy pull through.
GPS to the trailhead was off for me it was about a mile further up ahead on the right. Almost missed the turn into the trailhead. Because I thought I had past it. I pinned it for the next time. Watch out for trail closures on the website before heading out. Closes a lot because of muddy trails after a rain. Approx 9 miles. Happy Trails!

It was a nice walk. My ten year old husky thought the trail down was fun and the walk back up a little bit tougher. We had a nice time and would do it again.

Nice trail. Unlike most others the downhill starts at the beginning. Lots of biting flies so make sure you bring bug spray. Plenty of places to put your feet in the water. Trail is smooth and great for trail running.

Amazing views. Low traffic. Just straight nature. Loved it. Took my dogs and it tires them out

Fairly easy hike; well marked and well worn. Good views of Boulder from the top. Surprisingly crowded for a rainy day.

Moderate switchback trail goes up to Mount Sanitas...Beautiful views of Indian Peaks...note: no dogs allowed ($100 fine)

Great couple hour, fairly easy, hike. Very gradual inclines. Close to town yet secluded and tucked away. Parking at the base. Quite the mix of vegetation and terrain makes for a very enjoyable hike. Quiet warm in the heat of the day, suggest an earlier start. Good trail for a solo hike.

Easy little hike for families with kids (4/2 w/ us) while providing that "away" feeling. Great views and like many others saw wild turkeys including a family with chicks.

We did this hike yesterday and loved it. Family friendly, peaceful. Will definitely do it again.

We arrived at 8:40 am, parking spots available. got back down at 10:30 am.

Pretty easy trail up, very shaded and great views. Make sure you go up past the LLT summit to the Mount Sanitas summit, only about 5 minutes more.

Trail is great. Road to trail is not the best and full of bikers.

The weather was nice and warm on the way up but got cold and rainy on the way down. The hike is scenic and close to Longmont. Very rocky trail though. Great views at the lookout point.

Trail of Poop. We hiked this trail on 6/16/18. Every 10-20 feet there was a bag of dog poop next to the trail. Or just a pile of poop. Ick! What kind of people do this? You choose to bring your dog, you get to carry away it's poop. Don't subject the rest of us to it. I am a dog lover, but this was just too much.

Skip this gross trail. We've never seen anything this disgusting anywhere else.

Great workout hike. Another one of my local favorites. The first time I did this trail I did the whole loop and did the hiker shuffle back to my car. I went up the nighthawk way and looped back down. Was a solid 9+ miles and I don’t even think I stopped. Oops. The views and scenery are amazing and I really liked the switch backs. Views are breathtaking.

Love this trail. Camped along the creek Sunday night and a mountain lion entered our camp and chewed the strap off my friend’s backpack. Be alert!

Did this mid May. Gorgeous wildflowers. First part is exposed, grassy foothills views and not too exciting, but over the ridge is a forested little valley that looks very different. Didn’t know how beautiful the views were on the other side of these foothills! We were disappointed the magical forest part wasn’t longer. Good local hike for a short-ish light workout that makes you feel like you’re not in Boulder.
