This is a pretty trail with mellow elevations and beautiful views. Also a lot of different trail options along the way.

Absolutely amazing! Stunning views and plenty of places to stop and just relax next to the falls! I highly recommend it!

I took this trail in a Saturday pretty private only 1 group of hikers passed me. The first part of the trail is pretty rough lots of loose rocks and loose dirt, kinda like a 4 wheel drive or horseback trail but after the first mile or so it turns into a normal hiking trail.
To get to the water it’s an extra mile but when you do get make it to the bottom there are nice picnic tables to relax under, even camping if you wish to.

Beautiful views and waterfalls! The trail was tough to follow at a couple spots. watch for logs and rocks that help guide you. We started about 8:30 am. By the time we were heading down it had gotten pretty crowded, but the way up was peaceful.

Good walk, would be great to bike.

Easy. Classic. Lots of wildlife.

This hike is very beautiful with lots of trees, places near the river to rest, and of course the waterfall. The trail is poorly marked but there is a dirt path that starts from the Tahoe basin sign that first directs you into the parking lot and that leads all the way up. Lots of granite slabs to climb, and if you lose the trail, it's mostly fine as long as you aim towards the waterfall. Along the way you should pass the desolation wilderness trailhead, and that trail is fairly easy to follow.

Perfect trail for mountain biking.

Wonderful hike! As someone who loves romping through the wilderness this was so fun. The trail is pretty hard to find, but look for the call box, and if you start walking through some fallen trees and find a steel cable, you’ve got it. I parked in the dirt pull off right before the call box. At the end of the redwoods, you night lose the trail, but if you head towards the more open yellow grass, you should be able to find it again.
Went in August and the waterfall was still going nicely! The water was cold but nice to dip feet in. Didn’t get any poison oak/stinging nettle on me, but could definitely see it, so just be careful!
There are ropes to help you where it gets steep, and I almost fell a few times. Just go slow and be careful!
Definitely recommend.

Beautiful terrain that vacillated between forested shade and granite slabs to bouldering cascades at the top.

Very nice trail for beginners. I took my 9 year old son who’s a novice and completed the trail in 45 minutes at a leisurely pace. Not too crowded with nice view and evening breeze

Nice scenery to enjoy as you ride and generally not crowded. Not a real technical trail but you can encounter a few spots with larger size rocks to avoid. Overall a nice place for a quick hot lap after work.

Don't be like us - check the weather beforehand so you don't end up hiking here when it's 100° outside

This is a great flat trail for beginners or anyone who just wants a long walk. There is lots of wildlife and the scenery is gorgeous! However, it looks like there is some construction and development on one part of the trail, hopefully that will be finished soon!

Best hike by far perfect not too long! Lots of beautiful views! Love it!

Amazing views! We actually took the Coast Trail onto a beach that had a few caves. We hung out in a cave while watching the waves, whales, and seals. Beautiful hike the entire way to the beach. Definitely worth it. And definitely going again. Was an amazing date location!

Wonderful hike, went with 3 kids (9-11) who managed to make it with time. Would give it 5 starts but there was poison oak EVERYWHERE so keep an eye out. Aside from the poison oak there were wonderful views, will be going again (without kids

Parking was impossible at the start of this trail so we parked at Rock City and hiked the top loop and all around that location. Perfect for kids - lots of shade and great climbing and views. Glad we didn’t start at the bottom after all!

love the view, is very relaxing

Beautiful hike! Done this twice now. Just take lotsa water in summer

This hike was fun and had great views of a waterfall and some cool rock formations, but the trail was poorly marked. We had our two-year-old in a pack with us, and some areas were a bit precarious for carrying a kid.

Much of the trail is exposed so wear a hat and bring sunscreen. Lots of loose rocks, so wear good footwear.

Overall, this hike is totally worth checking out, but with all of the cool trails in northern CA, I’m not sure I’ll do this one again.

Flat trail that is good for someone trying to get their endurance back from a long time away from the bike or beginners. It’s in the bay so it smells like fish. Not much to look. Came on Sunday after 1 pm and there was very little traffic on the trail.

We thoroughly enjoyed this hike. Easy to moderate at times with absolutely stunning views. Lots of water to cool off in along the way. Would definitely recommend you do this hike!

Decent local trail

This trail is one of my favorites not to much hills, nice smooth stroller accessible all the way to Kelham beach To access the beach stay to the right when you meet the coast trail and go down when you get to the giant tree. you can't miss it.
Bring extra water. it's long but not too difficult.
Have fun

I haven't been back here for many years, but it's still the same..and that is a great thing! (Considering how much foot traffic this trail gets)
Nice and easy trail to the Falls.

absolutely amazing!
