Great hike with a rewarding view and a different perspective of the Las Vegas strip!

This was my favorite part of working in Pahrump for the week! Beautiful and challenging lil climb with awesome views :)

Seven of us set out on our first hike of the season. We were a little concerned about a seven mile trek as our first outing, but the trail proved to be beautiful and not overly taxing. It was the type of trail that makes you want to come back for more.

The layered colors were amazing. So distinct. The landscape ranged from soft, rolling hills to jagged peaks, which were as sharp as lava rock. The winds were wicked, but interestingly always at our back.

Our group (age range 45 to 60) really loved this trail.

When we went we had it to ourselves. We walked passed the trail the first time. When you get to the end of the road, you're going to go left. Follow the volcanic rocks on the ground. Then to your right you will see a trail up a slight incline. Pass the first hole to reach the staircase. I would recommend bringing a flashlight as our phones weren't strong enough for the darkness. Also watch the ceiling! I scraped my back pretty hard down there.

Worth the effort. From the paved road go past the dirt road shown to the next bigger dirt road wider and better condition

My Garmin had the distance a little shy of 6-miles,taking the north loop trail (as shown) up to the Raintree. Pretty solid 1,900-foot elevation change on the ascent from the parking lot at the north loop trail at 158. The elevation gets to just shy of 10,000 feet so will get to you on this steady climb. We hiked in early March so there was still some significant snow on the trail and micro-spikes and poles were needed. We had a great time and some of the views were tremendous.

Very beautiful trail. The spring was disappointing.

Amazing veiw from the top! Steep incline through out the trail but well worth it!

This is a challenging hike, not for the faint of heart. There are steep areas and switchbacks, and the elevation kinda started to kick my butt. But, it was worth it. The tree was magnificent and I was never bored.

The mysterious La Madre Trail, there's uphill and it could be quite challenging and it's a long trail but once you reach the end - Priceless! You can go deeper and deeper in the mountains but it goes uphill all the way (literally). I'd seen families bringing their children so it's safe because Red Rock has other Amazing yet challenging Trails that I wouldn't recommend it for children.

Amazing that all these beautiful trails are so close to Vegas. Stunning views everywhere if you can appreciate the rugged, rocky formations. A very serene yet challenging hike in late November.

this could be one of my most favorite trails I've done. only down side is lost the trail a few times. which led to awsome adventures. I almost preferred being off the trail. I went in February and the weather was perfect. But once that sun goes down grab a sweater.

This trail provides spectacular views of the west side of the park. There are also ample opportunities to spot big horn sheep. We went counterclockwise, although I don't think it matters a whole lot in terms of rate of elevation gain if you go either way. Would do it again!

amazing trail despite some of the debris I found.

This hike is more than 6.3 miles when you stay on the marked trail. TONS of switchbacks. I tried to go the mapped trail on this app coming down and it was a bad idea for myself. It was along the ridge and some spots you would have to find another route to climb down because of small drop offs, very steep and I slid a lot. I did however shave off a mile of switchbacks but did not save any time since we had to be more careful climbing down.

BLM 6641'/Totals: 5.9m in 2:15, med stride. Scarpa Crux, BD Shock Sticks, 2 shepherds and off we went without seeing another soul for the entire 2.5hrs. Nothing better. Only recorded first half of hike - back half is identical.

Great hike with rock scrambling and navigating the ridge. A few cairns mark the way but the trail is easily lost. Just keep along the Ridge and continue up. I did follow a white rock Zion-esque formation down a canyon but did not spot any arches. It’s a great place to scramble and explore

Didn’t realize I had to walk the last mike on the road, ended out of the trail ‘loop’ at willow springs. Did I miss a trail

I run all over the Las Vegas and this is the one I recommend to visitors. Fun single track and beautiful views of Red Rock, Las Vegas with lots of landscape and vegetation changes.

Beautiful from the top! There wasn’t one human in sight :)

Nov 21st. Challenging for an athletic/surfer from Puerto Rico. You pass thru many different types of terrain along the way and have to dig just a little deeper to reach the peak. Amazing view at "big turn" 9020ft and at peak. I came off the mountain on my head lamp. FYI, as it got dark passing thru the burnt out forest, the blackened stumps look like bears all around.

Great trail for views and a medium climb. Went with a friend and dogs in December and only encountered two other parties on the trail. Well marked and fun.

...so I returned to this trail and followed it further. if you follow the faint trail past the rock cairn and geological survey marker you will pass a natural arch and the trail begins to descend steeply into a pocket of slickrock known as Little Zion. There needs to be a trail on Alltrails for this. it's too cool.
