It is short and breathtaking hiking, quick and useful.ido three times week and really like it.

Gorgeous trail and lakes, but SO CROWDED. Even on a Tuesday in mid September.

I’d say this trail is more moderate than easy. It would be easy for the fit seasoned hiker, so overall a more moderate-easy for the average joe. There are a large amount of stairs initially, then more nearer the middle and a ton near the end of the hike downwards which you then have to come up on your way back. The only downside is how heavily trafficked the trail is.

What a beautiful trek ! Steep all the long way with some relaxing meters flat.
The view at the top is amazing !
I made it running and walking in 3h30.
Good memories

More a really engaging and fun workout than a chance to view the scenery. I did it the first time and liked it so much I went up two days later again. As everyone else, I recommend making sure you can be there at the least busy times, because the constant navigation of passing is the only serious downside that makes me want to abandon it for the nearby bcmc trail. Also you can hike down the bcmc when you’re done rather than pay for the gondola and that’s a beautiful hike too!

I hiked it last week. Amazing hike! Pretty steep at some points, a great workout for the heart.
My Fitbit recorded 6.75 miles in 3.5 hours round trip. Gorgeous views halfway up and towards the top. It got rainy and windy toward to the summit so bring layers as you’ll never know what awaits you. -:)
Even if you don’t see much because the clouds roll in it feels very rewarding to hike to the top.
I will keep hiking it to keep me in shape.

Happy hiking! Cheers!

The most beautiful hike!

Beautiful scenic ocean views, gorgeous huge trees and mossy forest. I loved it here and look forward to going back! Well behaved dogs are allowed to be off leash which is fantastic. It's steep in some parts but really well maintained.

Great trail best hike for training ! Good physical and mental workout ! Work on your cardio before you go for a first time . The trail will
Humble you !

AMAZING.

Easy and dog friendly

Hard hike the whole way up but amazing views the whole time!

Trail is very well groomed - there are some rocky sections at the beginning and end but nothing significant. Basically the entire trail is runnable if you can handle the steep inclines. Beautiful views. A NW Forest Pass ($30 per year and valid all over the PNW for many, but not all trails) is sufficient to avoid the $5 parking fee. Make sure to get permit in advance during the summer because they run out quickly (weekends only from May-July due to increased interest subsequent to Eagle Creek Fire).

Challenging, but awesome hike! I hiked it once last year and then again on July 13th of this year in one very long day. I don't recommend rushing this hike. It's so beautiful at the top. Take your time and soak it all in. I am planning on hiking it again by myself this coming Thursday (Sept. 13th) if anyone would like to join me.

Good workout. Go early to beat the crowds

Sad to see this trail so crowded, can do with high heels on as the trail is much easier than years ago. Didn’t see any rangers , outhouses stink and even the area around middle lake near outhouses smells like urine. Overcrowded parking lots and the experience now “speaking for myself” is a major turnoff in the summer months.
Suggest going in the off season mid-week. Views are spectacular just minus the huge amount of people and slinky outhouses.

We arrived at 9.10 on Thursday morning and the car park was barely 1/3 full. The hike to Upper Joffre was moderately difficult for this 54 year old but certainly doable. It took my husband and I around 75 minutes to make it to Upper Joffre after stopping for many photographs of the spectacular lakes and surrounds along the way.

There are people coming and going from the car park so hang around and wait for someone to leave, it will probably only be a 5 minute or so wait.

A must do hike if you’re in the area - each lake is a beautiful turquoise blue colour.

Killer hike but the view is a priceless payoff!

Great hike

Prepare for this one, great workout and cardio, go at a constant pace, hard on knees. Most of the trail is covered by beautiful trees. Hardly any flat spots, overall enjoyed the workout.

Man these people aren’t joking about it being difficult. Trust me. I’m not in the best of shape and it took me 3 hours to the top and 1.5 gallons of water. Beautiful sights at the top but do not underestimate this one. Now I’m laying in bed probably not able to move in the morning but it is extremely beautiful especially on a clear day. You’ve been warned!

Great workout! The trail is nicely shaded by trees. Be sure to spray on some bug spray. Bring some water and enjoy the hike. The gondola down is $15.

on Joffre Lakes

Joffre Lake was breathtaking as usual. I recommend to arrive before 9 am for a good parking spot. The hike was enjoyable but it was over crowded during the long weekend. I would recommend going on a weekday if possible.

The direct trail to the lighthouse view point took less than 8 minutes. The view was OK. If the private gate nearby is open, enter the driveway and you'll be surprised how much closer the lighthouse is from there. Juniper point will also surprise you with a great view at the end.

Hiked this beautiful trail today. no more smog and the air is 100% clear. The city started to force no parking rule along the highway. I arrived at 10:15 this morning and got the last spot at the overflow parking spot. People were forced to drive 2.5 to 5 km further and walk back to the trail head.
