Great hike!! Definitely prepare to sweat but was well worth the views!

Although the trailhead was hard to find ( we had to ask local people as the app was off) this hike is great. We did it clockwise getting up the steepest part of the trail (Ridge trail and Crater Rim trail) and going down on the more gradual part (Farside trail). The Fareside trail follows the river, it’s beautiful.

Nice moderate trail, I wouldn't categorize it as hard. Amazing views at the end. In the summer it's a great 3 hour return hike, in the winter it's an even easier 3 hour return snowshoe trail.
Highly recommended.. here is a video of our snowshoeing trip earlier this year: https://youtu.be/7FVLNTGHriw

If you like a physical challenge, you'll enjoy the Grouse Grind Trail. If you like to appreciate the scenery while you're hiking, you may not. Hiking the trail is as strenuous as advertised, the footing is tricky enough that you have to watch where you're walking nearly the entire time, and the trail is narrow enough and busy enough that it's not always easy to just stop and look around. The nearby BCMC trail provides an easier, if slightly longer, hike up the side of Grouse Mountain.

All of that said, this is one of the most fun hikes I've done in a while. Having a cold Molson (or other adult beverage) at the top of the mountain while taking in the views of Vancouver is a nice bonus, too!

Did hike today.. nice beautiful hike... fantastic view..

It's a rite of passage for anyone who likes hiking, took us 2 hours with lots of stops. Beautiful trail though. Very busy

Nice walk on the forest with amazing swim at Loggers Lake but definitely not an easy trail on the crater rim part. I would say it is a moderate walk.

The grouse grind redefines swamp ass. It’s just you against yourself in this race against your own heart beat and heavy breathing....and sweat drenched attire. Enjoy!

Did it! A little longer than it took me 5 years ago. But I did it.

Went on a weekday and it wasn't very crowded. Really likes the woods and the view from the top. Went at a slow pace and didn't find it hard.

Awesome trail! We planed on hiking all 3 peaks today but we misjudged the weather and we ended up hiking in 35 Celsius and by the second peak we ran out of water so we needed to turn around. Bugs and mosquitoes are not so bad now compared with 2 weeks ago. Quite doable and don't linger around any body of water or they will get you. So please remember to have lots of water and sun screen since you will be in the open for quite a bit. Up to the first peak not so hard but heading up to the second, quite a bit of a scramble, use all your 4's in places. So much fun and absolutely amazing views.
I don't know how, but we ended up on the far side of the first Peak too, lots of snow there still.

It was easy to hike but the view is stunning ..There are lots of roots just be careful. Some trees have no orange sign and confusing.

A technical hike which requires a good level of experience to navigate especially during some of the rocky descents!

Views are fantastic at several points across the hike especially up top!

Would be a lot more challenging in the snowmelt periods of April-June

Great workout! Did it yesterday.

What a beautiful trail and the views are amazing. Definitely one of the best hikes we've been on. We will be doing this one again numerous times.
The last climb up to number 2 peak is a hard push after hiking into it. But well worth the push.
Highly recommend this hike.

Did this hike with my son during early summer. Lots of blood thirsty black flies and mosquitoes. Be sure to have good hiking boots as trail is mostly tree roots, rocks, mud, uneven terrain and some snow. But, the reward is the view at the end. Did this in approximately 4 hours including rests and time spent at the viewpoint. If your planning to bring your pet, expect the feet of your dog to be muddy after this hike.
And, watch your every step as a twisted ankle will ruin your day.

Do it for the workout, not the views. This trail cannot be called 'hard' unless you try to get a good time. I'm not in great hiking condition at the moment and I did it in less than an hour.

A workout wonderful! A great reward, a great view!

Mostly dry by now, there is some construction between the trail head and the lake. Watch for your steps, as there are a lot of roots. Bugs can be annoying, bring some spray, The view at the end is spectacular. Great for kids.

Agree, the Crater Rim portion of the trail is at least moderate - a short, yet steep climb with some tricky sections. Beautiful views and a jump in the lake is a must
