I think part of the route has now been diverted and there are no appropriate signs. We got lost and chased by a horse. Wearing shorts, not a good idea, badly scratched legs! Route needs up dating.

Was an ok walk mostly flat and easy. Very muddy in some places but was fine in boots, we detouree to walk back on the other side of the river but either way alit of road walking which I find quite tedious.

Thoroughly enjoyed this walk. There were a few times where I thought we had gone the wrong way due to some of the overgrown bits. But my kids (aged 4 & 9) loved the wooden Bridges and the carvings in the rock. It was a steady 2 hours. Parked outside the church.

This walk was great for the dog, lots of off lead time & access to the river. We didn’t love it - it was quite boring. It was very overgrown in places, and quite muddy. We were there early morning so ended up with very wet legs. Well signposted though, and an easy loop.

A great circular walk - easy and enjoyable walk. Really easy route to follow along the River Derwent and out to Low Catton, there was about a mile on the road as you head back towards Stamford Bridge but a really nice return route on the old railway line and viaduct,

It's an OK walk on my own but not great for my reactive dog. Lots of quite tight spaces without much visibility ahead, and the walk back is through housing estates. It's not a bad walk, but it's not one I'd bring my dog to due to the lack of open space. There is also some road walking with a few blind corners.

Nice walk not much in the way of views River hidden for most of the trail and not accessible and not much on the way of shade if you plan on picnicking stop on the first half of the route as not really anywhere to stop after the half way point other than that a good route for beginners

Really good for off lead dog walking. some beautiful views, when we came it wasn't busy at all and parking was good. Nice shaded areas throughout walk and nice little stream area.

The first bit is VERY confusing - I went down a side passage and it turned out to be the wrong one and had to double back. Other than that it’s really quite easy! I met sheep and cows and didn’t have a problem. Would recommend!

Nice walk, not anything spectacular in terms of the view but easy to follow and a very easy level. Walked past some very friendly cows and two fields of Alpacas who had recently birthed some babies

There’s two walks here, the shorter of the two follows the left bank of the river underneath the viaduct and is a mixture of fields and lanes with several kissing gates which I was happy to lift our pushchair over! Eventually you hit Low Catton which you can either head into or bear left to follow a quiet road walk back into Stamford Bridge. I believe if you continue into Low Catton you can eventually cross the river and head back on the right bank into Stamford Bridge, but that’s another story and another review

This walk can be made longer. On the long road at the beginning you can take a right turn which will take you past a livery and it will bring you back onto the normal route. Adds on 50-60 minutes.

Wow. Saw this walk and knew we had to do it. Read the comments and took the advice to turn right and head to the river side first. Saw plenty of wild garlic. Loved the variety and views will do this again.

There is no parking in the town centre unless you’ll only be an hour or some that have 2 hours. We did find parking just off the walking route, on a street where there’s houses. I took a photo to remember for next time. So the photos with blue dots on that I’ve added are no restriction parking areas. There is a slight change coming back to complete the “circle” you start off on due to new houses being built but it’s really easy to follow. Really enjoyed this walk. A bit difficult at the bottom of the 2nd “circle” due to flooding that’s cause really wet mud to dry a bit unevenly but that’s all. Other than that was a lovely country walk and all flat too. So quite easy to do. Howden Minster was absolutely breath taking! Took so many photos of it! Would love to go back when it’s open to go inside it and not just the grounds. Just stunning! X

Great circular walk. Take a hat and sunscreen for sunny days as there's very little shade for most part of it. The bit by the river is beautiful and a bit overgrown. Very little traffic on the way.

Awesome walk. Beautiful variation in landscape from riverside to fields to woodland. Well maintained and very easy to follow with lots of opportunities to stop for a little break or picnic! Definitely saved to favourites

First time doing this walk today and found it to be a perfect to place to take to dog, overgrown in areas but nothing you can't get past. Very short walk along a very busy road part way along the walk but other than that the dog could run free through the woods, along the fields and dip his feet in the little stream. Some beautiful views to take in along the way and some surprise finds carved into the crags if you look hard enough. Not sure I'd want to do this walk in wet weather as I'm sure it would get extremely muddy very quickly.
