Walked in August, second part of the walk near the river and is very overgrown with nettles and hard going to walk through. Bulls in one field.

We didn’t do the trail as we found an excellent spot on the river Nidd where are two dogs were happy for hours running in and out of the water, it was a very hot day and probably too hot to walk the dogs that far but from my experience of the riverside and surrounding areas we will most definitely be returning in the future

A lovely walk through pretty countryside. One steep section down through a wooded bit could have been very slippery if it had rained a lot and some parts of the path appeared not to have been used recently (we walked in mid-July in shorts and regretted this as we got stung by nettles!) Other than this, it was lovely and peaceful with plenty of off-lead time for the pup.

Walked it today the paths from the river to Low Catton are a bit overgrown. Watch for the thistles and nettles of you have shorts on.

Nice walk, some parts are quite overgrown but enjoyed a Sunday afternoon stroll with lovely views.

Very confusing directions, you have to walk through pastures with cows, overgrown to the point where you can’t see the trail. Stick to the loop on the map by the starting point. The map on the app map gives you wrong directions. I couldn’t complete the loop with the map on this app because I got lost (and I’m pretty good with directions) and had a stand off with a cow.

I would recommend this walk but in the reverse as the dogs can go in the River to cool down and have a drink

Great walk especially with dogs

This is an excellent circular walk from the lovely little village, ideal for novice walkers. The rise isn't too steep and the view from the crags are quite special if the weather is clear. Some parts of the second half of the trail after the crags are quite overgrown, particularly along the field edge off Hangmanstone Lane and the wooded area thereafter. Lots of bugs and nettles in summer too.

Easy dog friendly walk

easy dog friendly walk, no sign of places for dogs to swim.

Steep climb from the car park but worth every step ,amazing views once at the top. Great to see the white horse

Nice walk taking just over one hour. Some of the pathway is overgrown so nettles can be a problem. Also there was a fenced barrier blocking one place so had to make a small detour and climb over a fence.

Gave up. Path disappeared. The walk is very dull.

This is an easy walk, plenty of flat ground. it took us just over an hour.

Good day out with Family, it was very warm and sunny but there is wooded areas that offer shade. My brother’s dog loved it as plenty of chances for a swim in the river.

fantastic walk views outstanding instructions easy to follow again one of the best walks l have done it is quite hard but worth it white horse in cliff wall impressive regards bailes

hello, did this walk yesterday, really enjoyed it, instructions very easy to follow, regards bailes

Really enjoyable walk. The kissing gate just after the kennels was damaged and we managed to walk past this gate. A quick check of the map at this point should give you a clear idea.

Have to agree with previous comments, the path wasn't great. It was a warm day and rightly or wrongly I wore shorts - my legs are badly scratched and stung. Also the second field we crossed was occupied by cattle who took a dislike to our entering their territory and decided to run at us. Luckily we made it out in one piece by the skin of our teeth! We definitely won't be repeating this walk.
