View is great. Did this hike with our 3 kids ages 5, 7, and 9. they had a great time.

This park is ONLY open to Essex VT residents with a valid Indian Brook Park Pass! But here’s a little secret- there is no park employee at the entrance to check passes in the late fall through early spring- so if you’re not an Essex resident you’re out of luck for the summer but......
Posted signs say Dogs are allowed OFF leash here as long as they are in voice control. They only have to be leashed in parking lots and in the picnic area.
Lots of other trails besides main loop around the lake- worth checking out. Great for snowshoeing and x-country skiing in the winter.

Quiet respite amongst tall trees and fern filled ground cover. Paths well marked and maintained. Lack of sunlight allows mushrooms to florish.

This trail has areas that are too steep to be called easy for someone with exercised induced asthma. Had to abandon our attempt. Review is for label, not for the area.

Great local place to get away and get exercise. Small inclines, fields and the pond.

Just pure magic.

This particular trail is fine, though ironically doesn't seem well maintained. There were several trees down in the trail that hadn't been moved or cut, and there was one tricky section that looked like a blow down had occurred. I say this is ironic because its one of the few areas you pay a park fee as opposed to Owls Head and Kettle Pond. Also, doesn't seem much traveled as I walked through a bazillion spider webs, especially on the loop side opposite the put-in area. I would suggest doing an out and back hike thru the side of Osmore Pond with a group shelter to the top of Big Deer- which has amazing views and is moderately easy as a hike.

Half the trail is flat and easy, the other half is rocky and steep. It was a fun walk with my two dogs. There was a nice beach for them to go swimming and explore the shore.

Nice trails. Great swimming at the cove. Loved the poems along the trail, which changed monthly. Looking forward to going back.

beautiful trail. easy 5 min walk to the falls with 6 years old. you have to hike a bit further to see the beautiful view it's worth it!

Even though it is rated Easy, there are some pretty step and long climbs. For our first outing may have been more than we should have tackled. Looking forward to doing it again when we’re better prepared. Last leg near edge of water isn’t much fun. High weeds and brush on a very narrow path.

Really easy, and relaxing hike.

Awesome bike ride with beautiful views of Lake Champlain! Flat the whole ride with many nice spots to sit on large flat rocks and enjoy the scenery. I’ve heard it gets crowded but I went on a Tues evening and I was practically the only person out there!

Really enjoyed this area. Had a little of everything. Some nice inclines to get a workout but not too rigorous. Loved the different venues, from meadows to walking along the pond and through the canopy of trees. Definitely will go back! Well maintained and easy to navigate.

Deducting a star due to crowds and bugs BUT otherwise this is a really unique trail - flat, elevated and in the middle of Lake Champlain. Views are astounding. Surrounded by the lake with Adirondacks on one side and Green Mountains on the other. Just, WOW, but beware the crowds, kids and tourist bikers who don’t know bike etiquette.

Excellent bike ride, just foot traffic and bikes. Which is nice because I hate to ride amongst traffic. Beautiful views of lake, and mountains in the distance. Peaceful with pull-offs to enjoy the view.
Went on a Monday afternoon and it was super chill. Do it!

This was a fun, quick hike that had a “kick” to it. I will definitely return to hike all the way up.

Beautiful! A little bit shorter than I had hoped. Great view from below and above!

pretty nice trail great views ar the top. signage is slightly cryptic but we found our way. to access trail from north parking lot u must use part of a multi use trail that is fairly overgrown but easy to follow.

This was a pretty hike but not what I would call easy. There were some pretty steep sections that left my family winded. The forest was lovely but not a good view of the waterfall and the highway detracts from the window view.

This is the perfect walk with amazing views of Lake Champlain. It’s also a great bike ride, including a paid ferry trip to Chicago next to the Lake Champlain Islands.

The trail is well-groomed with many platforms to navigate wet areas. Most of the trail winds through wooded areas and the canopy provides a cool, shaded walk. We were hoping for more views of the pond, but still a scenic walk in the Vermont woods.

Did the loop around the park and all the side loops to total about 4 miles. Hiked at a brisk pace, took me 1 hour 20 minutes to finish. I liked how the different species of trees had little signs at the beginning of the hike - I've never see Ironwood or Musclewood before. Cost $4 to enter and parking was good.

This is a must do, whether you’re a local or just visiting. It’s easy, it’s scenic and it’s a fabulous way to see the lake.
