Totally worth the extra leg work to get there. (Meaning permit and drive). Being a solo I lucked out and walked up to the Wilderness desk and got a permit for following day. I’ve got good luck!

The trail was what I’d consider moderate and only so bc of the trail navigation skills required. I found it to be beautiful and peaceful. It’s hard not to feel special connection with so few people out there.

The potholes were Fantastic! The morning was perfect weather and by noon when I finished- the sun hit the incline part of the trail. That’s was great motivation to finish that last mile quickly.

This hike is awesome but IMO it’s not moderate it’s actually about 4.2 miles one way and your almost doing 3,000 feet of elevation gain. It’s strange this is rated moderate when angles landing is rated hard. The only thing I can think of is that’s due to Angles Landing’s chain section that is not really for kids or people afraid of cliffs. Anyway the view up top is amazing and if your going for sunset watch the time so you don’t miss the last bus (10pm) and of course bring a headlight as I had to guide another group down as they had no light.

This is a rough hike, but absolutely worth it. Make sure you're there as early as possible, and bring lots of water. the switchbacks are harsh climbing, so trekking poles are a good idea. The views from the top are unbeatable, however. It will take you a good 5 hours or so, 6 if you take it slow and easy.

Beautiful reward but the hike is hard. It took us about 5 hours round trip. The first switchbacks are easier than the second which are very steep. The last half mile is flat, but it’s all sand so still not the easiest.

A long steep trek up the canyon wall, but the views get better at every turn. There is a slight respite while going through Echo Canyon. The walls close in around you and the sandstone formations are beautiful. After Echo Canyon it’s back to the climb and increased exposure but nothing too bad. A short walk along the plateau and you arrive at the best views of Zion Canyon as you look down on Angels Landing. The long descent can be tough on the legs but worth the effort

Breathtaking views! So worth hiking into the canyon to get close to the hoodoos! Challenging hike if you’re not used to the altitude. Take plenty of water, and take breaks in the shade! Loved it!

Hiked in early September out to Big Spring. DCF was 35 and ambient temperature low of 60 and high of 85. Water got thigh high in one location about half a mile from Big Spring. Conditions were great and the rented shoes, socks and pole were appreciated. Started at day break and had the trail mostly to ourselves after Orderville Canyon. A must do if in Zion NP. You will be wet and tired at the end but awe inspired

Nice walk along the Virgin River that leads to the beginning of the narrows hike. Great views of the canyon floor and towering canyon walls.

Beautiful from start to finish. Truly Fairy like feeling ascending & descending around the Hoodoos!! Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful walk/hike along the Virgin river to the beginning of the Narrows. There is a paved path, and you can also leave the path and hike right next to the river (for most of the route, which we did.). We went early, and during the week, and it was less crowded. Would definitely do this again, and would be prepared with water shoes and walking sticks to hike part of the narrows!

The best hike at Zion! Start early and bring water. 90% of the trail is switchbacks. Took around 4-5hrs (hiking time), but who is counting, just get to the top. Worth every step!

Absolutely stunning landscape!!! It doesn’t get more beautiful than this. We went over Labor Day weekend as the sun was setting after hiking the narrows at Zion in the am and this was a true treat!!! Go!!!! Trails were a little more crowded than I like but sunset is definitely a great time to go and get amazing photos.

Didn’t get the chance to hike the whole loop since it was too late in the day, but what we did get to was beautiful. It’s located close to the campground where we stayed which was nice. It was well marked and had a gorgeous sunset.

Wow! I hit this puppy early in the morning with some snow sprinkles and I’m glad I left when I did. Boy does it get toasty on the ascent. Easy wide trail, but super steep in sections. Very beautiful views. It also gets CRAZY busy as the day unfolds, which makes you require a bit more patience. After we reached the top, we broke off on another trail for another 2 mi or so. Quite remote & beautiful!!

I have to add that so many people don’t eat the right shoes and they bring little to no water. I personally find that absolutely insane. Do some prep work and don’t put others at risk because you need help.

Great hike !!!

It was very good but gets to be more of the same pretty quickly. The walking stick turned out to be important.

Amazing hike, dogs loved it. Great views. Not much water when we went.

Amazing hike. Make sure you rent boots and a walking pole from Zion Outfitters right outside the park. Best $24 I ever spent

We went in September. It was not too crowded or too cold. Water flow was low. Watch our for the rocks and sometimes the water was waste high but a great hike. You can go for as far as you like and turn around. There is a fork in the trail to the right as you go up. It’s a narrow canyon with little water falls and huge boulders. Worth the detour

Best hike in Zion!!

Difficult with lots of climbs and switchbacks, pretty long trail. But the scenery is beautiful along the way, and observation point is beautiful!

Beautiful hike that takes you under the hoodoos. Not too long or difficult, a must do in Bryce Canyon!

This is part of the hike to get to the actual Narrows. Nice scenery, easy paved road

The Narrows was one of the more rewarding hikes in Zion. I thought it was more difficult than the Subway hike due to the strong current and cloudy water, but that’s just my opinion.

There is beautiful scenery the entire length of the trail and you should definitely complete the full route. You’ll know when you get there by the views. There’s some light rock climbing involved, but nothing a moderately experienced hiker can’t handle. Standard hiking shoes and a walking stick will be all the gear you need.

Definitely start EARLY because it is one of the most popular routes and it gets quite crowded and you might stuck behind other slower groups.

This trail was unforgettable and hands-down the best hike of my trip to Zion. We started the hike around 7:20 AM and finished around 2:00 PM. We had the trail to ourselves the majority of the time.

The slot canyons are absolutely breathtaking and worth the trek. The only strenuous portions of the trail are the descent and ascent to the river. Otherwise it’s quite a pleasant and easy trail. The terrain is mostly sand, so it’s similar to walking on a beach in hiking shoes.

Recommendations:
- Start early in the day because the climb in and out of the canyon is quite steep and strenuous; you won’t want to do that in full sun.
- Pay attention for snakes, spiders, and poison ivy on the social trails out of the river.
- The water in the slot canyons is COLD, so brace yourself.
- Bring some sandwiches to enjoy once you’re out of the subway. There’s a nice flat rock to sit on and relax. You’ll be surrounded by a waterfall and butterflies.

solid hike that will get the blood pumping on the way up and the reward at the top is worth the work. lots of people and the trail is mostly sand or sand covered rock, not particularly enjoyable on a steep incline/decline.

Great hike continues to the narrow

One of the most amazing places I have been in my life do the back land hike if your tour guide offers

awesome hike and scenery. Make sure to show up early. We caught the 7:30 shuttle and were still able to park at the visitor center. Going up stream wasn’t to crowded but coming back down about 4 hours later the place was packed.

Amazing river hike.

Loved this amazing hike truly beautiful and amazing views all around. Take water and snacks. Start your hike as early as possible and enjoy.
