Got started before the first shuttle got there since we are staying at the lodge. Left the cabin at around 6:45 and we’re one of the first few people to the top. Recommend going in the morning as the way down had a lot of congestion.

Great hike with great views. we approached from east mesa trail and then hiked into the valley.

Killer view at the top...

Amazing trail. It can get pretty hot, I was hiking in April and it was really hot. Sometimes the trail is not marked very well so one can get easily lost.

great trail made the mistake of doing peek a boo on the top of this in one day.

This is a hard trail because of the steep switch-backs. Pace yourself up this trail. Think of it in four parts. The first is the steep switch-backs up the outside of the mountain. But once you make it up that you get a break by hiking in the shade and more reasonable path back inside. But be prepared to hit the third part of the trail that takes you up shorter, but steeper switch-backs a good bit up. At the end you find the part that’s flat where you can rest and go to the bathroom. From here you can go back down or take the final leg up where you have to hold on to chains and make your way to the top on a small ledge with pausing for hikers moving back and forth up the trail.

This is not only the most amazing place in Zion, but it’s one of the most amazing places/hikes in the country. The Narrows isn’t something you need to do in Zion, it’s a MUST if you visit there. Clear your day and make this an all day adventure! Find yourself by loosing yourself in the Narrows! Zen magic.

The end of the trail is a wonderful place to see, so don’t get me wrong here. But the trail itself is BS. Why I say that is one reason only... This is most likely the most horrible marked (unmarked) trail I have EVER seen. You have no idea what side on the stream you need to be on to keep moving forward. You guess if water run off patches in the sides are paths or not and your back tracking 1/3 of time instead of moving forward. Most of the trail has no real pay off for at least there hours in. Plus after going all the way up and then back, you then have to climb back up that mountain with tired legs to get out. So be prepared. I’d skip the bottom up trail for the Subway and just go to the amazing Narrows in Zion!

Amazing hike

It’s scary. Be smart wear good shoes. Great views both directions

Incredible hike. Very challenging because the trail is scarce. You have to do a lot of climbing. Looks for the dinosaur footprints!

Started just after sunrise and had the trail to ourselves most of the time. Beautiful. Go clockwise

Absolutely breathtaking. Cannot stress enough how dangerous and difficult it is, though. If you are unsure, stop at Chicken Rock. From there, the steep drop offs begin.

amazing hike. we loved the views and the challenge. highly recommended.

Can’t say enough about Bryce Canyon. It’s simply one of the more beautiful natural spectacles in the United States. This trail, specifically, is one of the most popular, giving you the best views on a simple, short hike.

Mid February 2018... early morning start. We went clockwise. No map.No idea what we were in for. I'm NOT in shape and wasn't sure what to expect. Seeing someone up the first fin, I thought they were just having fun and taking selfies... until I realized I had to go that way. I'm afraid of heights as well. Having said all that... I had an absolutely amazing time! Super high winds and blowing snow made for some dangerous areas and there were a few that made the extremely tall fin that turned around.. not hiking with a partner. Bad idea. I doubted my abilities several times only because I've never hiked something this long. We took lunch breaks and stopped to look around. It was freezing so I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted.. hated digging for camera or phone. Wasn't prepared for scrambling rocks.. but glad I went clockwise because for me it is easier going down rock faces than up. Really wasn't prepared for the so called puddle or the young lady crying at the puddle. Once across, she and her husband helped my crossing. Thanks guys! Only slipped a few times and almost slid into frigid water. Take waders or a change of shoes and socks... the potential to end up in icy water in cold months is severe. I have to do this stuff in colder weather because of medical conditions... but I'd still suggest off season times. Chances of bus loads of tourists showing up is scaled way down... but we still ran into them in the park at the easier arches. Beautiful trail and even though that day I swore never again.. now that I understand and better know what to expect... DEFINITELY would do it again. More pictures next time!

Did the bottom up hike with neoprene socks, canyoneering shoes, and dry pants. Highly recommend for this time of year since water temps were 35 and water was thigh high at some points. We started the hike at 8 am and were the first ones to the subway- it was great having the views all to ourself!

There’s not a lot to say that hasn’t already been said, this trail is incredible but not for the faint of heart. Go early or late in the day to avoid the crowds, bring gloves with good grip for holding onto the chains on the rocks. If you do get scared, please move off the trail! There were several people that were clinging on to the chains, holding on for dear life, sitting on the ground in the middle of the walkways, making it very dangerous for the rest of us.

This hike was amazing but a doozy! Starts off switchbacks, levels out for a bit (mostly) then another set of switchbacks (more intense) before leveling out for the remainder. Layers would be a good idea since the trail goes through various areas of the canyon and isn’t always well lit/warm or vice versa. The view is so worth it!

I bought the shirt, and then I had to do it. Tip: go as early as you can get in the park. The crowds start coming after that, and you do NOT want to be stuck behind them when you're all hanging on the side of a cliff holding the same chain. Plus, there are people coming up who are not prepared or in shape for this hike and you do not want to get stuck behind them. Great hike if you don't mind a little fear factor. I'm not afraid of heights, but even I was a little uncertain in some parts. Just keep climbing.

Beautiful and majestic! Hard to describe the views and rocks, definitely lived up to its name "fairyland" as it had a certain magical quality to it.

In my opinion, this hike was better than the crowded Angel’s Landing. You have amazing views and less crowds. It is a strenuous uphill climb, but it’s worth it- and going down is that much easier!

love love it! must do when your in Zion.

lovely walk with a nice view...best of the whole family with little kids. love this trail.

must do hike!!! go early.

Highly recommend starting early to beat the crowds. We caught the 7 am shuttle from the visitor center and crowds were limited at that time. Great views at the top.

extra rad! obvious advice, but bring layers, you'll probably want to change multiple times while hiking as temps vary drastically through the different terrain of the hike.

Fabulous hike! Best bang for your buck if you're wanting to see as many arches as possible in a day. Some areas could be concerning for hikers who are scared of heights or who aren't sure footed. For the typical hiker, this is a 'must-do' in my books!
