There was some snow on the trail, which made it easier to hike. From Nunns Park it is 1mile one way to the creek and the “Rock Sofa”. Trail is definitely steep, for that I would suggest it to be more of a moderate level hike. I have heard rumors of waterfalls on this hike, but didn’t see any except for bridal veil falls on the opposite side. There were a lot of deer tracks, but didn’t see any.

Great snowy hike today, Dec. 8. Did not see any moose, saw plenty of tracks. Snowshoes not necessary, but microspikes very helpful. Took a little less than 1 hour to reach 2nd meadow.

Took me 1 hr to get up in the snow, with a dog, a random rappel at the first falls and a couple of stops to grab some good ol' h2o. It only took me under 30 min to get back to my car from the"top" --I like to trail run down. Would recommend.

Wow. Wow. Wow. We hiked on 12/1 and there was 2-3' of snow the entire length of the trail. There was a small 2' wide compacted path the entire route so it was nice and easy to follow the path in regular waterproof hiking boots. Saw plenty of hikers with snow shoes and plenty without. It was fine without. The views on this hike are absolutely insane. Honestly the waterfall was great, but frozen over, but the valley and mountain views are top notch. We are here on vacation from Florida and have so far done 3 hikes (Adam's Canyon and Waterfall Canyon near Ogden) and this was our favorite of the three. Unbelievable.

Awesome views once you get on the top spine of the hike about a mile from the summit. Mount timp looks amazing from here and you can see the Wasatch front for miles in both directions

This is a great loop trail with no technical difficulties for 11 years old and normal adults. The scenic view at the meadow which is over G Mountain is really great!

Fun Thanksgiving day hike! It took 5 of us about 3 hours. We ran into a blizzard at the top. Beautiful loop!

Rated appropriately for the level, took around 3.5 hours however we stopped to take a lot of photos and take in the view. Dead horse is still on the left of the trail near the wood post for the 046 trail. It did not smell and is half buried so you may miss it (my dog easily found it with his nose so watch out if you're with pups!). Trail was clear with the exception of an ice slick about 1/4 mi past the first meadow. I was able to easily navigate around this in the brush and avoid slipping. This trail shares the majority of the way to Horsetail Falls so check that out as a nice pit stop (also found on All Trails).

This is rated "HARD" but find it to be intermediate; it shares the same trail for the Dry Creek Trail which is rated Intermediate. Went Mid-November 2018 and it took about 2.5 hours with stops for pictures and taking in the views. Trail was a mix of compacted dirt and some loose rocks so wear shoes with ankle support. Trail was clear of snow and there was only one icy spot about 1/4 mile up past the trailcamp meadow. I was easily able to walk through the brush and avoid it. The dead horse is still on the left of the trail just past the post for the 046 trail (on the right). The horse did not smell and was half buried, however my pup's nose had no trouble finding it. Only docking because the signs for the falls didn't exist.

Great hike! We went on 9/18 and the trail was still perfectly fine to hike. Some points had snow and were a little slick, especially right in the beginning, but we were just fine in regular hiking shoes. The falls are partially frozen and gorgeous! The trail was not very busy either. We brought our dog, and she had a blast. This trail is rated moderate with some up and down hill, but probably pretty easy for more experienced hikers.

Beautiful hike with amazing views of Timp. We got some directional help at the top to circle around on the Salamander trail which was perfect.

Super fun in winter!

Hiked today. Brief review: nice hike. Consistent climbing. After the turn off at about 1.7 miles, the next mile is up a wash. Probably the most consistent effort of the hike. After that, the rest of the climb is easier (relatively). Turn off was easy to find. No mud today. It’s likely too cold for mud now.

This was an awesome hike and climb, many off shoot trails and if you go up the peak opposite provides a mix of high incline hiking and moderately difficult rock climbing.

Nice walking trail. Nice and easy. Looked beautiful with all the fall colors

Absolutely beautiful and an easy hike! The water fall is half frozen and stunning. Definitely would recommend!!

Excellent hike this morning. Predawn start to catch the sunrise from the top. Fresh layer of snow 1-2inches. The streams are frozen over enough to support my 200+lbs. Didn’t attempt the lake although it looked pretty thick. Plenty of deer to be seen and some moose tracks.

Loved this hike!

We went right after it rained, so the fall colors were extra pretty! About halfway up we hit some heavy fog which was really cool, and made for a great fall hike! Haha, your pants will get wet from brushing along wet grass if you go after rain

We went in November and the trail was rocky for a good portion of the trail and icy in a couple of spots but mostly dry. The falls leaves were mostly fallen. There was little to no signage to point us toward Horsetail Falls but we veered right at the first two forks and then went down a path to the Lower falls. Spectacular views and wonderful to see at dusk. It took us 2.5 hrs to go up and back.

Are you in shape? Let’s find out! Total workout! Down hill in fall sucks due to all the toe grabbers covered with leaves and steep trail . Bring a sack lunch and water.

The trail, where it diverges from the Rock Canyon trail, is not marked. Use the map in this app to make sure that you make the left turn at the y in the trail. It is steep, but winds through aspen and other deciduous forest. There were flocks of robins, other small birds, and deer in the woods. Wish I had been here a few weeks earlier when the aspen were bright yellow.

The upper part of the trail is steep and was very muddy from snow melt. The view from the peak is worth the effort.

It is a sweet hike not very long but the beauty is worth it.

Awesome Trail.

This is a beautiful trail (minus all the horse poop). The signage to the waterfall could be improved! It’s a steep climb but take your time, you will be be rewarded with nature beauty

Easy loop trail with scenic variety of forest, meadow and panoramic views of Timponogos which steal the show. Definitely layer up this time of year, but I was sweating in the sun when protected by the trees. The melting ice also makes the path very muddy and surprisingly slippery, so be careful.

Great day hike. Beautiful views. Good for dogs.

This is a really tough hike in the snow. We went on Sunday 10/28 and from about mile 3 onwards it was all in snow. We'd tried on Thursday and had only got as far as the meadow as the winds were so strong we couldn't even see our own tracks and couldn't find the trail. We managed to summit on Sunday but from the saddle to the hut and back again was very windy and very sketchy. If you've never done this before (which I hadn't), it's definitely not for the faint-hearted. Once over the saddle, the drops are very very steep and, I thought, very very scary. The views, however, are spectacular and the trail was pretty easy to follow. The whole thing took us 10 hours as it was slow going in the snow, so we came out in the dark. Be prepared and stay safe!
