Good short hike for a view. However not the easiest for everyone since it’s lots of stepping over tree roots and rocks

This trail came as advertised. Lots of roots, rocks and mud. Aptly named for the number of dogs and with lots of kids. Views were spectacular! Well worth the effort.

Rooty undulating trail no big climbs was muddy. There where lots of people. Took 2:13 with a slow dog out and back. GPS said it was 5.14 km out and back.

Great easy trail that’s fun with your dog (on a leash)... beautiful trees and views, and nice and wide. Careful of mountain bikers, and avoid busy times as it can get crowded.

Quick out and back with a great view from the rock. Always a bit busy but trail goers keep the trail clean.

Loved this hike. We loved the fall colors.

Steady incline the whole way up the trail, but not bad since it is only 2 miles to the top. Pretty shaded most of the trail. Pretty views all the way to the top.

Very easy. It does have rough terrain and it can be muddy in the fall/winter/spring. Gorgeous views!

I’d say this trail is more moderate than easy. It would be easy for the fit seasoned hiker, so overall a more moderate-easy for the average joe. There are a large amount of stairs initially, then more nearer the middle and a ton near the end of the hike downwards which you then have to come up on your way back. The only downside is how heavily trafficked the trail is.

Great hike. We had to go up the “gulley” since a marvelous full grown bull moose decided to block the trail. There was no way to convince the big guy to move.

Easy and dog friendly

Dogs do not have to be on a leash on odd days

I considered this trail as easy, the view from up there is amazing, I really recommend it. There were several children with their parents there.

This was an easy-moderate hike. Lots of stairs but not too steep, with soft and mossy trails in between. The view at the end is worth the short hike (36 minutes one way on a very relaxed pace).

rather quick hike . went super early to avoid foot traffic. was good but I expected it to be better due to hype of photos.

Nice moderate trail, I wouldn't categorize it as hard. Amazing views at the end. In the summer it's a great 3 hour return hike, in the winter it's an even easier 3 hour return snowshoe trail.
Highly recommended.. here is a video of our snowshoeing trip earlier this year: https://youtu.be/7FVLNTGHriw

Awesome hike for views and trail is beautiful. The only downside is that it's busy. The Forest was lovely and we did this pretty quick with our three year old but he's pretty adventurous! check us out @loewenlife for quarry rock and others! Parking is difficult, try to go early.

Did hike today.. nice beautiful hike... fantastic view..

walked/jogged this trail but it’ll be better off in a bike than walking

Fun hike and beautiful look out once you reach quarry rock but I’d put this more as moderate for families as there are a ton of stairs to climb which may not be great for young kids, varied ability or older adults. Can get pretty packed with people in the summer.

Amazing view and wonderful hike!

Great hike with plenty of shade and sun. I got a bit confused when trail signs denoting Rob's trail seemed to stop. I keep turning right to go higher. Trail markers said Mid-mountain, GPS here said I was still on track. Great view at the top! Mountain bikers were polite & friendly.
At the end of this trail are a few other options to go further. I opted for the extra bit at the top to reach Murdock's peak-the first part is quite steep & rocky and then eases up. Going down is always a bit more interesting!

It was easy to hike but the view is stunning ..There are lots of roots just be careful. Some trees have no orange sign and confusing.

Did this hike with my son during early summer. Lots of blood thirsty black flies and mosquitoes. Be sure to have good hiking boots as trail is mostly tree roots, rocks, mud, uneven terrain and some snow. But, the reward is the view at the end. Did this in approximately 4 hours including rests and time spent at the viewpoint. If your planning to bring your pet, expect the feet of your dog to be muddy after this hike.
And, watch your every step as a twisted ankle will ruin your day.

Trail very well maintained, nice views. I’d say moderate level.

Smooth trail, not too rocky, uphill but not too steep. Beautiful views and plenty of shade!

I really enjoyed everything about this hike! It was long, with a steady incline throughout. No parts of the trail were really any more challenging than others. The trail itself was relatively soft dirt, with a few rocks jutting out. There were plenty of mountain bikers, all of which were extremely respectful and informative of how many were behind them. The trail is shaded the majority of the time. There are switchbacks towards the upper half that I really enjoyed, because the trail would weave through the thick trees and bushes, then open up to a beautiful meadow and view of the valley below. We began our hike around 11:30a Saturday and finished around 3p. Highly recommend this hike!

Mostly dry by now, there is some construction between the trail head and the lake. Watch for your steps, as there are a lot of roots. Bugs can be annoying, bring some spray, The view at the end is spectacular. Great for kids.
