Remember to take your picture, and let other people have their turns :)

If you decide to continue on Primitive Loop the cairns can be hard to find so always be cognitive of the direction you’re headed in. You will have to create your own path in certain areas. Amazing hike though!

No shade, but beautiful hike!

We took the advice of others and did it counter-clockwise and started around 8am. I highly recommend this. Great hike to see multiple arches. There are some slick rocks that were tricky but not impossible.

Very cool views, went mid morning... half the canyon was in the shadows. If it’s not too hot I would recommend afternoon, but expect the crowds to be insane.

The water is not too cold in August, and make sure you have proper gears.

Beautiful and worth some initial minor step climbing. Most of the trail is on slick rock and not only marked by green paint marks but also watch for stacks of stones (cairns). The short cable section is an upright, just watch your foot placements. Started out 8am and only saw four others; outbound at the end saw several incoming. NOTE: At the start, you need to pass through two wire fenced areas, crossing the railroad tracks in between. Saw 2 others almost get lost if we hadn’t called them to correct.

a must do and many great stops to view the various canyon types and vistas.

short steep shaded walk along a paved trail to the viewing platform which is cut into the cliff where water rains down from above. special but not a must do.

relatively easy and fantastic vistas. vertical 1000 foot cliffs surround this paved trail which parallels the highly vegetated creek/ river. take a pair of water shoes and a walking stick to finish the last third which goes along and thru the narrows.

The best hike I’ve ever done in my life!

An easy in canyon walk. Very crowded but beautiful.

Great hike. Lots of variety of arches. Lots of slickrock.

Go early. Do it COUNTER-clockwise.

Don't go in when it is raining! I is very wet and cold in the canyon (not to mention the danger of flooding!) I did get some mild hypothermia doing this hike on a rainy day in September. The trail is also 10 miles round trip not 2. I would totally do it again though because the canyon is amazing!

I suppose because we had just hiked the extremely quite North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Capital Reef National Park the days before, I was really taken aback by the Disney like feel of this hike. Don't get me wrong, it was stunning but I absolutely enjoyed it 100 percent more when we climbed down to the river and walked along there. It's obvious who is walking the Narrows because they rush down the paved path barely enjoying the Riverside walk and honestly, some people were just flat out rude. Also, get to the parking early in the park. We arrived at 8am and it was getting already tight.

An amazing hike. Spend the money and get the boots, neoprene socks and a hiking stick. We had two sticks each and they were very much used. Enjoy!

The short hike is suited for just about all ages and abilities. Very crowded (parking lot full) at sunrise but less crowded by mid-morning. I recommend going later in the morning because you can still get some great photos of the canyon through the arch without the crowds!

We arrived just after sunrise yesterday and had the Butte all to ourselves. From atop Aztec Butte you’ll have super views of the surroundings to include canyons in the distance. We saw a herd of mule deer wander by the base of the butte as we sat on top. This is not a hard hike, but if you have issues with your knees or ankles you should not do this as there are many sections at pretty steep “all fours climbing” going up the butte and some “scoot on you butt” sections coming down. Don’t forget to stop by the granary!

Loved it! The canyon was beautiful!

Awesome for sunrise pics! It does get quite crowded with photographers so make sure you get there early to get a good spot viewing the arch and canyon below.

Fun hike but it sure does get more difficult at the end as you scramble up the rocks of the butte. But definitely worth the gorgeous view!

Beautiful hike. Make sure you hike to the end of the trail and see the funky water carved “circle room”.

Nice walk along the Virgin River that leads to the beginning of the narrows hike. Great views of the canyon floor and towering canyon walls.

Beautiful walk/hike along the Virgin river to the beginning of the Narrows. There is a paved path, and you can also leave the path and hike right next to the river (for most of the route, which we did.). We went early, and during the week, and it was less crowded. Would definitely do this again, and would be prepared with water shoes and walking sticks to hike part of the narrows!
