Watched the sunrise over horseshoe bend this week. Absolutely amazing. Very few people there at that time, but by the time he sun came up it was packed already. Recommend going early.

Absolutely awesome hike. Glad we did the entire hike. We went counter-clockwise and we were glad we did. Not very many people on the primitive trail. Make sure you have good shoes with good grip because you do have to do some scrambling. The views were spectacular and going the direction we did, we were able to avoid a lot of the crowds.

Very majestic place. Very crowded but worth the experience.

Great hike with spectacular views at the end. This was one of the easiest hikes we did in the Big 5, there is an uphill section and a few large steps up but very accessible. I would consider this an easy hike or a moderate walk.

The NPS rates this trail difficulty as a 3 out of 5, so prepare to be surprised if that is your only reference. There are some serious ledge climbs and scrambles along this trail, I would rate this as one of the more difficult hikes we did as a group in this area. If you have anyone in your group that is skittish around sharp drops and insist on staying 6 feet from the edge, this is not the trail for you.

The trail basically follows the canyon out to the Colorado river and reaching the river is an awesome reward for completing this challenging hike. The trail is fairly tame for the first third before getting to some sharp drops and falls. I noticed several pitons in the rocks along the way, ropes would make these sections infinitely easier but we did not have any with us. Several of the areas were elevation drops of 20 feet or more requiring traversing the ridges along the sides to get back to the wash floor. Near the end of the trail there are large boulders and rocks to scramble over to get to the river but if you've made it that far its hardly challenging.

Do your research ahead of time and look at some of the tracks here to decide if this is best for your party. We had a member of our group who is rather short for a stormtrooper and was anxious on the ledge descents which in turn made some of the other group members anxious. Never go beyond your collective comfort level. As with the other canyons in the area, be mindful of the weather, flash flooding would be a serious risk in the event of rain. No water station at the trailhead.

Crowded and people get too close to the edge, but pretty

Awesome!! A little bit more difficult than we were expecting but 100% worth it! We did this to break up a long day of driving from Santa Fe to Zion. Also it’s fun to say hoodoo.

I'm fat and out of shape... thought I was going to have a heart attack... but, I DIDN'T! I made it to the arch! My husband had both knees replaced 13 months ago and HE made it too!

Great Canyon. We were in awww on how amazing. Water, Wind and time can create such an amazing Canyon. This should be on everyones must do. We did the Lower Antelope Canyon. This cost us 50.00 a person, took about an hour to complete.

Pictures just don't do justice. This place is beautiful regardless of crowds! just be patient bc there are tons of people trying to take cool pictures. it's all in good fun!

great hike. Took us 1hr 45 min and that was with a lot of photo stops.

Nice slot that conveniently merges with buckskin gulch. Use the alternative way around the 8ft drop which was nice. The drop wasn’t bad but had a lot of camera gear and didn’t want to chance it

Words don’t do it justice. Amazing!

Exceptional hike, very easy until the 7’ foot drop. But it looks much harder than it is! An easy climb up and down and we had a dog with us. Buckskin gulch was amazing. We only hit one patch of water but easily passed using the rocks. Very little traffic.

Short and sweet trail! We didn’t do the whole trail just to the first toad stool. If you walk fast takes about 30ish minutes there and back. Very interesting view. Almost seems like it should be on another planet.

There's a boulder and about a 7 foot drop halfway down the first slot. I didn't think I could do it alone with just my dog but it's easy to hike back to the opening and go up to the right and bypass it. This hike was my consolation prize for never winning the wave lottery month after month.

Absolutely gorgeous. Be prepared to run into water during the winter months. We came across knee deep water in Feb.

Absolutely stunning. This is a bucket-list worthy hike. Can’t believe it took me so long to get here when it’s so close to home. Really windy today, no longer any snow/ice along the trail.

easily some of the best views in the usa. The primitive trail can get a touch hard to follow at times but we always found our way back. Pro version with offline trail map is recomended for this trail.

Great hike ! Solid difficulty. I know I probably don’t have to say this on this website but please wear appropriate footwear for this hike. There is a lot of scrambling at some parts and a girl got stuck because she was hiking in converse.....

Did some difficult, for me, ledge climbs. Well worth it! Beautiful!

The trail itself was awesome but just a word of warning... we went just after they got some snow and there were a lot of high risk situations where slipping on ice could’ve ruined the day. Also, if you were hiking clockwise just about in the last mile or so there is a giant what I would call a mini pond with two rock faces on each side. And the only way over is just walking through the ice water. We were with two folks who pulled off some American ninja warrior type move and ran over the side of the rock face. Haha I’m just not a risk taker like that.

Did this hike when it was 45 degrees out, probably the best three hours we've spent this week. Take a few minutes and get the required permit, then enjoy getting lost in the 'Furnace'. The trail markers are there, and honestly it was more fun going the wrong way for an hour, then retreating to find the trail later.

Went January 2018. Easy, fun, bring spikes as there is a small patch of ice.

Took a weekend trip to Moab to escape busy college life. Planned the roadtrip so that we could get here right at sunset and we couldn't have timed it better! Got there with about 10min before the sun was below the horizon, but still had time for some amazing views. Lost my camera lens cover down the gully, but my friend scooted down to get it back for me. Temperature was perfect, and distance was ideal. Definitely recommend a sunrise/sunset time to avoid the crowds!

Awesome - definitely more crowded than lower Antelope (which if you have to pick I’d do lower right now in the winter since there is not a lot of light).

Easy hike to cram in while you’re in town to see Antelope Canyon. Tons of tourists but you can still find space to yourself. Don’t get too close to the edge for that perfect shot
