Holy pain in the butt! Doing this hike is no easy task. The trail gets confusing once you start the scramble to the top, so when all else fails, just keep climbing!

Is very scenic and awesome to climb with friends ...but climb with caution , very steep hill sides

Really enjoyable hike and great hot springs.

Hiked this trail yesterday. Absolutely stunning weather! Trail is dry with maybe four spots that still had ice. I’m sure it’s melted off by now. Beautiful overlook all the way out to The Great Salt Lake. Switchbacks make the elevation easy to handle. Highly recommend.

This hike is a fun hike to do with anyone. As long as the snow isnt coating the path its very easy - THERE ARE TWO TRAIL HEADS. The first, main one is from Sundance. Sundance is privately owned which means they decide when and how to use their trails. Its super pretty from the resort but you will be required to purchase a lift pass to access the trail head. The second trail stems from aspen grove, which is about 2 miles up the alpine loop PAST sundance. Right before entering the uinta national forest there are two parking lots and the second lot is where youll start the trail.

Love this hike! The snow has melted enough it’s in great condition.

Great hike! Still snowy I recommend wearing water proof, great traction shoes. still super fun in the snow.

It's a nice trail with a couple nice meadows and the falls is 2 miles from the trailhead. It was a bit tough for our 6 and 4 yr old who generally are fairly athletic. Way too many people and quite a few that lack trail etiquette.

I found someone’s wedding ring on the trail today. If you lost your ring please contact me by email at jbump86@gmail.com. Hopefully whoever lost it sees this.

The trail was completely covered with hard pack snow all the way to lower Red Pine. It got a little soft up to the upper lakes but manageable with cleats. The accent all the way to the saddle was steep and sketchy as there were only a few tracks to help stabilize your feet. Still an absolutely beautiful day to be on the trail. All lakes are still frozen over of course but the Ridgelines look amazing under snow. Keep trekking

Best view and love the squirrels there!

It’s a fun hike and the view at the top is definitely worth the climb up. I would definitely bring water and a few snacks. The ice was almost all melted so regular hiking boots were fine.

We visited Donut Falls yesterday. Beautiful hike. Beautiful day! We are from California so I never anticipated snow on the trail considering the beautiful weather. It was compact & easy to navigate mostly, in tennis shoes. As the day wore on the snow became slushy. Few icy spots & a few muddy areas. Very well traveled in & out. We made it to the waterfall & my husband to the donut hole. The mountain was covered in snow & quite step so we stayed at the bottom and enjoy the view of the waterfall & the stream. Would definitely visit again.

This was a amazing experience! The hike was easy and beautiful in some places. Me and my family went on a Saturday and it wasn’t as busy as I thought it was going to be. Parking was the only issue because of the amount of people! I would definitely do this again! We got in the hot springs and everything was very laid back and fun!

This hike is NOT 3 miles. About 6 to the very top. Beautiful but pretty challenging hike. Spikes are a must right now

A bit muddy at the start. Beautiful walking through the pines. ☮️

Great conditions today. 98% dry, no snow at all. Just too many people!

Started trail this morning around 6:30. Trail is very fun right now with the right equipment. Muddy/water flow on trail, 1.5 or so, ice and snow. Not pot holing early morning until you get to lake. With sun up at top of trail minor pot holing. Equipment suggestions: microspikes (its very icy right at least half way up), trekking poles and gloves. I ran in baseball cap, tank top and tights. Hands even with wool gloves got very cold (started to hurt), until getting to top. Super fun and technical at present.

Gorgeous hike!

Very slushy at the top - spikes recommended. Also, round trip is about 6.5 miles, not 5.8.

Did not have to walk in the water in the first 10 minutes.
No snow on 4/20/18, a slight breeze, very pleasant weather! I suggest you start at least mid day, that way the wind cave wont be in the shadow of the hill its on. Better lighting for better pictures. This is a unique, natural formation; it is a nice reward for the hike.
This is very doable, don't let the elevation gain per mile scare you off. We saw parents with kids and a dog, old people trail running, and some parents packing a baby up. This is great for anyone. If I lived in Logan, I would be here quite a bit.

I love this trail in spring, as it’s clear earlier than most. The east side is in full sun most of the way, so be prepared. Just before the summit (at the steepest part) it’s still snowy/slushy/slippery and spikes helped a ton, especially on the way down. FYI, I always clock this closer to 6.5 RT (from the gate at the bottom of the Church Fork campground.).

One of my favorite hikes of all time. Always such a good time. Have gone multiple times and always look forward to going again!

II am pretty athletic and found this trail to be exciting and beautiful but also steep and grueling. I was exhausted by the time we reached the summit. I would rate this trail as difficult not moderate.. I’m from Ohio so maybe I’m not used to such steep climbs or the altitude - so if your not a local it may be a difficult trail.

Beautiful hike and the caves are amazing. So cool with great views.

Just got back from doing this hike and it was gorgeous with fantastic weather,60’s. We took the Sundance trail which is a little more steep than the regular trail. It’s about 3.6 miles all together. Definitely going back in the summer

I love this hike, such a beautiful view and totally worth the moderate hike!

I'm looking to do this hike tomorrow and I am wondering what the trail is like. I've done it in the Spring before, but the weather has been so unpredictable lately.

Were spikes needed at all?
