A beautiful and magical hike when there's several feet of snow and even more falling. Nothing too strenuous, but it's not noted that you have to park right of the highway and hike roughly an additional .5 mile to get to the trailhead. The snow was hard packed enough that hiking boots were sufficient, though many people had snowshoes. The little climb to get to the cave where the falls are was a bit slick without any kind of spikes, but still doable.

Great hike! Lots of cool rocks for kids to climb on and under.

This was a great little hike. More toward moderate at there where a lot of stairs but not to bad. The south part of the loop is a bit more strenuous then the north part of the loop. But manageable. The falls were beautiful. We arrived at 9am and there were only a few people. However one the way out, approximately 10am it was heavily trafficked. Definitely get there early.

Such a beautiful hike. Nice inclines.

It’s where I had a close encounter with a black bear. Awesome!

Wow! The views on this trail are 5 Star views. The slippery snow on the trail and the few spots of mud made this hike SUPER hard for my 9 and 11 year old with special needs. And the effort I had to put in to ensure they didn’t fall made this one of the longest 1.7 miles of my life. My 15 year old flew over the same footing. But even with the slipping and sliding, we loved this hike. So beautiful! I can only imagine how pretty it would be at other times of the year.

Great hike! Lots of snow and ice, so definitely need micro spikes.

One of the most beautiful hikes I've done. Nicely snowpacked for the majority of the trail, just used microspikes and carried snowshoes which were helpful for the top near the lake and walking around the lake which was frozen and snow covered. Completed 3/11/18.

The trail is hard packed all the way to the falls. Spikes come in handy for the final accent. Really cool icicles on the falls right now.

most popular hike in Palm Springs. slightly touristic. bring money for admission ($12.50). very beautiful. easy. fine valley views. must read canyon history in old newspapers at visitor center.

Catching up on some reviews, so recognize that I did this hike in early September. Went with some friends to hike this on Labor day. Quite possibly the worst day to do so. The parking lot closest to the lake was filled, so we had to park at the ski lodge. We could have taken a shuttle from there to the real trailhead, but the wait was 45min+, so we started our hike from there. Very sunny, hot, and exposed for most of it, so be prepared. Also, there were so many people! This would have been much nicer if the trail wasn't so backed up. Didn't stay long at the lake because of how many others were already there. Other than the heavy traffic, this would have been a nice, short, enjoyable hike.

Loved this trail. Lots of beautiful scenery, and in late July the wildflowers were even more beautiful than the mountains! Ran into a moose sitting in the middle of the trail! It’s a bit of a challenge, but incredibly worth the effort!

Attempted a climb just yesterday and the trail was pretty accessable. there were places where spikes were very useful. On the approach to the final climb snow shoes are required. My buddy brought his but I didn't so we ended up having to turn back. Another hiker on their way down said that he got to the base of the final climb but there was steep ice covered by snow that just slid away so we had to turn back. Those looking to summit this time of year need spikes, snow shoes, and actual crampons / ice axes.

I would not climb up the falls. That causes a large portion of the salt lake search and rescue calls... just look at it from the bottom. It’s still cool.

Favorite peak in the Wasatch. The upper red pine lakes and the view of the ridge that divides BCC and LCC is insane. There is some boulder hopping/scrambling above the Maybird Lakes basin that was hard on the way out, but easier on the way back when you could easier scout your route. We saw a marten on the scrambling part! The last little bit is very steep but it looks more intimidating than it really is. Did this in mid July. Get an early start as it is long and there isn’t much shade after red pine lake.

It’s an amazing view point but very short, make sure you plan other stuff on the drive as well, such as Grotto Falls

I enjoyed the hike, easy but challenge enough for someone that is starting to hike. Beautiful view of the Valley and the mountains in the North East.. It was a little muddy but nothing really bad.

Really enjoyed the hike. Little mud but not too bad. Views were awesome.

Great hike, awesome views and landscapes, great exercise. The hike wasn’t to bad, only five miles up and down, we really didn’t have any problem getting up there, except for exhaustion.
Anyway, great hike loved it!

Loved it but if you call climbing steps is easy? Then easy it is. Me not so much

I love this hike... At the end the waterfall is beautiful... so worth it

The roads closed during the winter /:

A lovely, easy hike with a satisfying (little) waterfall at the end. Overpriced, unfortunately, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Good hike, but it is steep and in early February there was a lot of ice and snow toward the top

Beautiful covered in snow. Easy hike with spikes on (lots of ice). A bit windy too.

Awesome short hike. Beautiful scenery most everywhere. I hiked from the Spruces Campground for an extra long walk through the quiet forest. The last stretch is treacherous during an icy winter; bring boot spikes. Big difference during the winter? Hardly ANY traffic, especially early in the mornings.

Buenisimo!!! Gracias. Prime service.

A good short hike that ends with a beautiful view in multiple directions. Be prepared to walk a ways up a snowy road to the trailhead if you go during the winter time.

Great trail. Some icy spots. Beautiful waterfall in a cave at the end.
