The elevation was not that severe, I would say it is an easy hike manageable in 1.5h, views are worth it

Yes the trail IS open! A very strenuous hike (for us 60-somethings) but oh-so-spectacular 360 views of the park from the Landing. Glad we fulfilled another bucket list hike in one our most breathtaking NP’s.

Not for those afraid of heights, but do it anyways! You’ll be so happy you did. This hike is not to be missed.

A good early morning hike and one that you don’t need the shuttle. Full sun by midday. Great views at the top.

The water is not too cold in August, and make sure you have proper gears.

Beautiful and challenging hike, well worth at the end.

we thought this was the best of the shorter moderate trails. lots to see all the way. it's a popular home so go in early morning since many parts of the trail are too narrow for two way traffic. views along top third of the trail were spectacular!

relatively easy and fantastic vistas. vertical 1000 foot cliffs surround this paved trail which parallels the highly vegetated creek/ river. take a pair of water shoes and a walking stick to finish the last third which goes along and thru the narrows.

Hiked from the South Campground. Great views of the lower part of the canyon. Stayed for sunset then hiked back to camp. Trail is easy to follow. Some steep drop offs. Great shorter hike close to the entrance without needing to get on the bus.

This hike is awesome! There is a fairly extreme element of danger due to the huge drop offs on either side of the trail, but it makes for a very exciting hike with great views at the end! This trail is extremely crowded especially once you reach the top and the chains.

Don't go in when it is raining! I is very wet and cold in the canyon (not to mention the danger of flooding!) I did get some mild hypothermia doing this hike on a rainy day in September. The trail is also 10 miles round trip not 2. I would totally do it again though because the canyon is amazing!

I suppose because we had just hiked the extremely quite North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Capital Reef National Park the days before, I was really taken aback by the Disney like feel of this hike. Don't get me wrong, it was stunning but I absolutely enjoyed it 100 percent more when we climbed down to the river and walked along there. It's obvious who is walking the Narrows because they rush down the paved path barely enjoying the Riverside walk and honestly, some people were just flat out rude. Also, get to the parking early in the park. We arrived at 8am and it was getting already tight.

An amazing hike. Spend the money and get the boots, neoprene socks and a hiking stick. We had two sticks each and they were very much used. Enjoy!

Loved it! The canyon was beautiful!

Wife and I loved it! If you don’t hike much it can be a bit strenuous, but I still tend to recommend this one to anyone (beginners included). The ending makes it all worth it!

The falls are definitely worth it but take the time to enjoy the rest of the hike as well. Very large and visual pictographs, exceptional rock formations and clusters of plant life not often seen in the desert. It is a busy trail but late in the day it was very manageable.

a great accomplishment and great workout

Lovely view, good cardio, solid easy to follow trail but too crowded for my taste.

Totally worth the extra leg work to get there. (Meaning permit and drive). Being a solo I lucked out and walked up to the Wilderness desk and got a permit for following day. I’ve got good luck!

The trail was what I’d consider moderate and only so bc of the trail navigation skills required. I found it to be beautiful and peaceful. It’s hard not to feel special connection with so few people out there.

The potholes were Fantastic! The morning was perfect weather and by noon when I finished- the sun hit the incline part of the trail. That’s was great motivation to finish that last mile quickly.

I took this hike in the middle July, which made the arrival to the falls well worth the hike. The trail is mostly sandy and rocky. The sand can get hot towards the middle of the day, but people hike in sandals and chacos nonetheless. Consider getting booties for your dog, and have something to carry their feces in (unfortunate but courteous), a mason jar typically works. There isn’t a substantial amount of elevation change either during the hike. Upon arriving to the falls, it is very much an oasis, with plenty shade from trees. The water is very cold, as it should be. It’s fun swimming as close to the falls as possible too. During the hike back, I encountered some light rain, so be rain ready too. Be sure to check out the upper calf creek trail if you can. As far as traffic goes, be sure to arrive as early as possible if you want to have good parking. During the time I went, the crowd was small enough for everyone to swim and play around. I’d estimate 50 or so other hikers at the falls. The weather at the time was about high 90s during the day, and lower 70s at night. Be sure to take lots of water too.

I just n

a little more crowded than I like but beautiful views

Got to the parking lot before sunrise and we were the third car there. On return the lot was full. Get there early. Great hike with wonderful rock formations along the trail and super views at the end. Starts a little steep but flattens quickly. We got to the view point just as the canyon was beginning to glow with the sunrise. There is some exposure but with a little precaution you should be fine

Nice walk along the Virgin River that leads to the beginning of the narrows hike. Great views of the canyon floor and towering canyon walls.

Beautiful walk/hike along the Virgin river to the beginning of the Narrows. There is a paved path, and you can also leave the path and hike right next to the river (for most of the route, which we did.). We went early, and during the week, and it was less crowded. Would definitely do this again, and would be prepared with water shoes and walking sticks to hike part of the narrows!

Wow! I hit this puppy early in the morning with some snow sprinkles and I’m glad I left when I did. Boy does it get toasty on the ascent. Easy wide trail, but super steep in sections. Very beautiful views. It also gets CRAZY busy as the day unfolds, which makes you require a bit more patience. After we reached the top, we broke off on another trail for another 2 mi or so. Quite remote & beautiful!!

I have to add that so many people don’t eat the right shoes and they bring little to no water. I personally find that absolutely insane. Do some prep work and don’t put others at risk because you need help.

Great hike !!!

Go early before 8am or after 5pm if you want to be more alone. Gorgeous views. Easy short hike.

This is part of the hike to get to the actual Narrows. Nice scenery, easy paved road

This trail was unforgettable and hands-down the best hike of my trip to Zion. We started the hike around 7:20 AM and finished around 2:00 PM. We had the trail to ourselves the majority of the time.

The slot canyons are absolutely breathtaking and worth the trek. The only strenuous portions of the trail are the descent and ascent to the river. Otherwise it’s quite a pleasant and easy trail. The terrain is mostly sand, so it’s similar to walking on a beach in hiking shoes.

Recommendations:
- Start early in the day because the climb in and out of the canyon is quite steep and strenuous; you won’t want to do that in full sun.
- Pay attention for snakes, spiders, and poison ivy on the social trails out of the river.
- The water in the slot canyons is COLD, so brace yourself.
- Bring some sandwiches to enjoy once you’re out of the subway. There’s a nice flat rock to sit on and relax. You’ll be surrounded by a waterfall and butterflies.

Awesome hike. Easy trail. Bring at least 2 liters of water and definitely jump in the water. It’s like an ice bath, but you gotta do it lol . I tracked it at a little over 6 miles.
