The trail in many areas needs repair attention. The bright orange markings provide a good warning to bike riders. Beware of cinders and rough gravel at some road crossings. We will definitely ride this trail again.

Easy hikes available for every age group

Great hike when you're itching to go out, but don't have time to leave the city. Head on up see the famous view of Portland from Council Crest.

Well maintained trail in the heart of PDX. I prefer early as the trail is open at 5 AM. Nice and quiet then.

beautiful...Lots of trails.

Grew up hiking these trails as a kid in elementary school on field trips. A good easy hike for all ages! The suspension bridge is always fun too!

beautiful view. uphill, downhill, and flat terrain. easy to get to if you're in Portland. trail, stair, or road options. very dog friendly. usually occupied by a lot of other people. not a secluded area at all. great for all levels.

Great hike in the city.

Love this trail, perfect hiking place for a hot day.

Enjoyed this hike. Peaceful and beautiful

Nicely maintained trail. Beautiful view at the top.

I took my walking group here on a very hot day, and had a delightful, easy, shady 3.8 mile walk. wish there were more trails like it!

Great city park. Good for trail running.

nice and well marked simple and relaxing break from the city

Really great for a city trail. Good for trail running.

one way small trails part of the way with a couple cross streets. overall wonderful with good incline!

It was challenging, but not highly strenuous. I started at the Banks trailhead. The ride starts out easy then slowly transitions to a continuous uphill grade till the trail ends in Vernonia. The ride back is a blast. It's all downhill and smooth riding. Twenty miles each way. I highly recommend it if your looking for day ride in the country.

Fun great little place for a family stroll or a nice run. Nicely shaded too so it stays cool throughout most of the trails..
We started out early so it wasn't too many people yet. Parking lot was full by the time we were done after 9am on a Saturday.

I run this trail several times a week year round in combination with adjacent loops. One of the Crown Jewels in Portland’s Park System. Try connecting this to the Council Crest Park loop if you have time for a true “I heart PDX” workout!

Nice wide open asphalt path, about the width of a car. Don’t know how they get 11 miles. I started at the parking lot, went to the end of the path and back and it was about 2 miles. Maybe there are 11 miles of trail total

I was out at 6 AM, after the sun came up and did not feel quite safe with the folks who appeared to live there tucked into corners of the park

It’s a beautiful trail, and I would do it again, but not do it alone at a deserted hour.

This is a very nice walk for little legged or wheel bound kiddos as well as adults who are a little more unstable on their feet. THPRD has done a very good job trying to make you feel like you're in nature EXCEPT for the constant sounds of trains/max, busses, cars, etc. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked. The nature center and bathrooms are in good shape as well. I would recommend it to someone needing a quick walk/jog through the trees or an elderly person or person with young children mostly due to the paved trails and little to no incline... However, I don't think we will be returning as it is a bit too easy and close to city noise for my 8, 5, and 2yo preference as well as mine.

Was a bit Confusing but we will definitely be going Because there are many things to do around that area. We will be going back tomorrow to explore all the other areas we didn't get to explore today.

Cute little park. Nicely maintained trails. Great for a quick hike in the city.

This is a cute little park. It's a whole 5 minutes from home for me. When you get to the back of the main trail look east and you'll have a nice view of Mt. Hood. Make sure you have sun protection though. There is almost no tree cover for large portions of the trail. I was a bit of a lobster by the time I was done.

Beautiful, accessible; the perfect walk in the woods.

Good city hike. Wanted to stay close to city and get a good hike in, and this did the trick! The views from Pitock Mansion were great as well!

Beautiful trail. I had accidentally parked halfway along the trail, so I didn’t get to see the view but it was still great. Very heavy traffic though, if you’re an experienced walker be prepared to be constantly going around families with children running around and teens blasting music from speakers.

Easy hike, just be ready to be hiking in the outskirts of the city.
