Too many folks.

beautiful trail through old growth forest with an amazing view at the summit.

I would say that this is a moderate/difficult hike. There are some steep inclines, but a majority is a steady incline up which I would rate as a moderate hike. I would absolutely recommend this hike. Beautiful views and scenery up and down the trail.

Drove up to do this trail today and the road was closed due to the Hendrix Fire

I didn’t actually do this complete shorter trail, but the views at the summit are amazing! One of the best hike views I’ve seen. There is a longer trail you can do but I do not recommend it unless you’re with someone who has done it before. It is not marked at all until one point and it is extremely easy to miss that sign! We missed it and ended up hiking 5+ extra miles that day. I’d stick to this shorter one and it is absolutely worth the incline!

Super secluded so you’ll probably have the trail to yourself. Totally worth the drive up the mountain to the trail head. Some seriously cool spots along this trail.

Finally Mountain biked this trail and it way worth the challenge . A beautiful trail with equall views .

This hike is a challenge! We took the longer, less steep route, but it was still a major climb. The terrain remains the same throughout the hike and isn't as beautiful as many of our Oregon hikes. The view from the top is a treat after making the climb though!

1.5 hrs (1 hr up and 30 mins down) with 11 and 15 yr olds. Great views of the lake. Crowded but 4 stars due to smoke from wild fires. We got the views and we could see all the way across but not the deep blue color! Keep an eye on the crater webcam if you are not staying at the lodge. Dry and steep going up and starts at 7k ft so take water. And have lunch at the lodge after, while you wait for your table have a drink in a rocking chair on the patio overlooking the lake.

Love this hike, gives great views of the basin, crater lake, wizard island & phantom ship. It is short but it is all uphill. I went to watch the sunset on Garfield & I passed only two people who were headed down while I was going up

I'm sure this is a great hike, but I never found it. Took Goodman Rd set the odometer and around 3.2 miles in was at a fork and I didn't see any markings for anything. That, in combination with no cell signal and an already sketchy road getting worse made me turn around unfortunately.

Very surprised there wasn't at least some sort of sign around there, unless I just completely missed it which is possible.

awesome hike, best to do in the early am. we started at 630, no one was on the trail. far busier after 8.

Did this trail early this morning (8/3) with spectacular weather and minimal crowds until the descent. I had the peak to myself for upwards of 45 minutes. I must stress the extreme crowds toward early afternoon-mid day. The hike is entirely uphill until you reach the peak, but nothing a moderately in shape person couldn’t do. Go early and enjoy!

Hiked this trail July 24, 2018. Easy walk to the falls. Lots of wildflowers and butterflies.

Short and easy hike to the Plaikni Falls. Tons of mosquitos on the trail, beware!

Nice short hike with great views of the Lake as well as Wizard Island. Some snow left but the top of the hike is accessible. High traffic.

was any amazing hike. hiked this trail all the time as a kid. took my 5 year old son and he had a blast! only down side is we heard cars were getting broke into and gas tanks getting siphoned, luckily none of the cars parked were messed up however we chose to have someone drop us off and take the car with them. other than that this is a perfect hike for families, just watch the narrow spots!

Great hike! My first solo hike and I loved it all. Incline wasn’t too bad so I only took two breaks on way up (I’m moderately fit) and was doable in my hiking sandals. I wish the cage / power structure on the summit wasn’t there, would help the views / feel up there. But overall would recommend!

Current fire closures have Shane Creek road closed. Don't waste a trip out there. Be safe, hike smart.

Not a very difficult hike. Gentle ups & downs, just under 3 miles, & if you get there in the morning, it’s not crowded at all!!

The hike to the falls is not scenic. Trail surface is unobstructed. The variety of flowers at the falls was nice.

Excellent hike with fantastic views. My favorite so far.

What a gem! Coming down the trail was a bit tricky and slippery due to loose dirt/rock, but overall a great time. One of the foot bridges are broken, but easily passable. We took a left at the at the path intersection and found the lower falls.

Great trail. So much cooler than the valley. Lots of shade. Love being at the top lookout.

Mosquitoes were terrible, but probably had a lot to do with the time of day. Gorgeous views! Great challenge for me as well because I'm trying to get some elevation gain training hikes in.

Beautiful meadows of sage, corn lillies and lupin, forests of evergreens and aspens, andcamazing views of shasta, mt ashland, pilot rock and mcloughlin in the last two miles to the peak. I call the top Cafe Wagner because it’s a great place for lunch.

I loved this trail. The first two to three miles are the hardest but then it smooths out a little just in time for the views. Finished by 10 am on what is supposed to be quite a hot day but there was plenty of shade. I was the first one on the trail this morning, so I ate most of the spider webs (so don’t be first if that bothers you). Great views the whole way up but nothing compares to the views at the top.

Surprising trail with a nice reward at the end. Trail is mostly flat with a slight incline at the falls. We hiked between 2-3PM when the sun is on the falls and makes better pictures. The wildflowers were awesome along with hundreds of butterflies. Don't miss this one at Crater Lake NP.

Cons: Trail head was not marked and hard to find. The trail was narrow and poison oak was almost impossible to avoid. Because of the poison oak I turned around and went back to the car after half a mile.

Pros: The water made this a wonderful hike on a hot summer day. The area is serene and peaceful. I would highly recommend this trail if it was better maintained.

This doesn’t need another review but I had such a good time I simply must. Every second of this trail is breathtaking. Don’t be fooled by the short distance, this hike is not easy, but it’s a killer work out if you move at a good pace. I think this was a fluke incident but a few falling rocks came down from the peak as I descended and could have ended badly for me if I wasn’t paying attention, make sure to be cautious of your steps and surroundings as the trail is narrow. If you only have time for one hike here, do this hike! You won’t regret it.
