Nice with great views!

This is my favorite one. Hiked 5 times in last two months. Beautiful views from the ridge.

Good uphill trail with progressive incline. There is no official parking lot or trail markers. You can park on the side of the road.
Trail length is 5.5 miles. View at the top is nice, although not the best.
The road is public with a few cars passing to watch out for on a few blind corners.

Wonderful hike. I did it back in April with my husband and it was difficult at the stair part. My second time doing it on Sunday with a girlfriend. Still hard, but better (since I have more hikes in) Encountered a rattlesnake at the top. But made it

Hard to find the beginning of the trail. Lots of thistles. Great views. Would not do it again as very steep at parts and easy to fall.

Awesome trail! Went there for the first time with family. Both my 5 yr old and 70yr old were well entertained. Of course we enjoyed too, nice views the rocks and caves were fun.. sad that we didn’t had too much time. And in hindsight we should have planned for a half or full day picnic. We will be coming back for sure.

I love this place it’s cool

Deffinetely hard one, especially if you don't have experience. I did it as suggested, going counter clockwise. Will be even harder during the summer, since there is no shade half of the way. Hiking will take you around 3 hours with some stops for pics and breaks. Btw i did the descending part at night 7-925pm.

It was beautiful, challenging and totally worth it!! You must make it to the top, the view is unbelievable. It was 6.70 miles round trip and elevation increase of 1680ft. .

Done this hike twice now and it’s awesome! I recommend going clockwise around the loop (with the switchbacks at the end) so that you can see the lake for longer while you’re on the ridge. Go early if you can since it’s hot and can get crowded.

it was a great hike, beautiful place to hike..
steepy and rocky which is great for your lower extremities.

It was a great hike! I would bring more water than you think you need. A fire went through the area a bit ago and all the brush was scorched so there isn’t much shade. It is all uphill so be prepared for that!

This is not a trail but a paved (public-ish) road that takes you up to the peak. There isn’t a sidewalk so you are walking on the road but there were hardly any cars when I walked it. I didn’t see a single other hiker on the way up or down. This was on an early Saturday morning.

Oh, and parking. There are some pullout spots that can accommodate a few cars near the marked beginning of the route. There is no actual parking lot that leads to any trail.

The view at the top is fairly decent, I would say if you’re looking to get a good workout hill climb, then you should check this one out. Takes about 1 hr to the top if you’re fairly fit, 45 mins back down for 1 hr 45 mins total.

Fun isolated hike with a couple of technical rock sections to walk up. Usually you are the only one on the trail. Made our way to the lower and upper lake after this. My 5 year old son loved the rock section and completed the 4 mile hike. Always a great place to explore.

In the sun the entire time...being plenty of water. Took about 3 hours to complete. $5 entry to get into the park.

Great short hike! excellent views. did Not experience cow pies as some previous reviews mentioned. overall I was pleasantly surprised. might be hard for someone not in shape, but doable for sure.

I love this hike! That being said I went at 2:00pm when it was 91 degrees out and I almost had a breakdown at the top it was so hot. There are signs warning about the lack of tree coverage. Listen to them! Don’t be dumb like me, bring lots of water and plan earlier in the day before it gets too hot

Always great views and amazing talks

Good place to ride. Conditions are best when dry, when wet turns to sticky clay. Fun single track with technical sections mixed in. Expect to climb though, your either going up or down when riding the single track. Nice loop around the pond for families.

Great light trafficked spot but lots of stickers so try and wear long pants! Def a workout but the views are worth it and Drake’s Point is a cool surprise with lots of rocks to climb on and see from.

Enjoyable hike, not too bad. Convenient parking right at the trail head. I do suggest going clockwise around the loop so you end up doing the steep switchbacks on your way back down from the ridge.

trail running

I love running this trail with my chocolate lab. There’s definitely some challenging climbs and some great single-track, technical running throughout. It’s obviously not the most challenging run, but in my opinion it’s the best in the Solano County area. It’s usually between a 6.5-7.0 mile course for me. I’ve been running and hiking these trails and hills for the past 20 years, and I’ve never ran into problems from the cows with either myself or my dogs. If you’re looking for a great local area to get in some exercise, this is the trail to do it at.

Great view from the top. I could see this hiking bing amazing during a season when it’s not so hot and dry. I would recommend bring LOTS of water and some good shoes. This hike is a little challenging.

One of my fav hikes

After climbing like crazy all week we were looking forward to an easy trail. Maybe tired legs made this tougher but be prepared for some uphill.

Not the most scenic hike I have done. I hiked during an extreme drought, I was disappointed to find out that the waterfall were completely dried out. The last part of the trail is extremely steep, a hiking stick can really come in handy.

As of July 16, 2018, this trail is unfortunately closed until “the heat wave is over.” Not sure when that will be, but I do hope to visit this trail soon!
