Wow... what a great little trail. I took my girls on it with my youngest being 6. Perfect short little trail for families. I would definitely do it again.

The trail was excellent for young children. Incredible drive and beautiful views! Highly recommend.

One of my favorite hikes, once you get past Ruth lake you encounter very few people and the scenery is breath taking!

Beautiful! A ton of mosquitoes. We ended up going to wall lake as well which was super easy more of a walk.

Short hike but you still enjoy a remote feel and views and have additional access to Naomi and Hayden lakes adjoining Ruth.

If you just want a short trail , not a lot of elevation gain, thats enjoyable and has a beautiful lake as your destination then this is it.
Great to bring visitors that may not be able to hike long distance at high elevations. Perfect to squeeze in if you don't have all day

This was the perfect hike. Downhill to the lakes and the way back up was not bad! Definitely an easy hike you could take your whole family on to get some amazing view of lakes, mountains and meadows. I'm an avid hiker and absolutely loved this trail.

Great little trail. A little bit of snow left here and there on Memorial Day weekend, and pretty muddy in some spots.

The lake is still frozen and surrounded by a couple feet of snow. Good if you want to relive winter in May! The views on the drive up are beautiful!

Nice easy trail that you go mostly down to get to the lake and then have to climb mostly up to get back. My wife thinks that this trail is uphill both ways. Notch Lake is a reservoir so there is a lot a bare shoreline in the fall. Some people like to jump from the cliffs on the opposite side. Bench Lake is also a litter past Notch Lake

Went kayaking and walked around the lake!

This is definitely an easy path. It's flat without any rocky cliffsides to climb/hike through like in Cecret Lake (which is not easy for beginners!). The path is well maintained and has boardwalks. I feel most people can do this trail without much effort. In fact, I wouldn't call this a hike, it's more like a walk! A beautiful one, no doubt!

Excellent trail.( I also Bring a paddleboard in warmer months!) Flat, easy, shaded and nice. Very quiet and stick around for their evening shows on the weekends.

I clocked this as 2.7miles. That was just to the edge of the lake and back. This was a really peaceful hike. I didn't see anyone on the way up. Only one couple was camping at the far side of the lake. On the way down I saw 2 groups and this was by noon. So if you go in the morning I think you will miss most people. Or maybe I just got lucky. The trail is very well maintained and easy to follow. Would totally do this one again.

So this is only 3/4 mile to the lake. If you walk around the lake then you can clock more miles. It's definitely kid friendly. The terrain is mostly rocks and small boulders, which is not my favorite, but there was still a lot of green. The lake is one of the most beautiful I have seen. I walked around the right to the far side and I could have just stared all day. Wonderful views! Quite a few people camping and fishing. Best to go mid week after summer vacation.

Good trail to get your hiking rhythm back. Very easy trail and great for young children. Many people fishing at banks of the lake but the traffic during to week is light. Wooden walkways in areas that are wet or bogey. Crushed sandstone of the trails. Nice photography spots to catch Bald Mountain which towers over the lake.

We camp at Mirror Lake every year and have treasured walking around the lake with our little ones. Usually we come early in the season and during the week, but that wasn't possible. The late-season weekend crowd gave it a different feel. When you and your grubby, not-so-little-anymore kids are fishing and a lady wearing high heels walks by on the trail, it just feels like it's not "your" beloved Mirror Lake anymore. They have made improvements to the trail, leveling it out and putting in gravel and retaining walls. Weird as it sounds, that made us feel nostalgic for the old Mirror Lake too. I thought the hard packed dirt was easier footing than the new gravel. But we saw a lady traverse the whole thing in her motorized wheelchair, so that's a positive change since I can see my husband and I doing that in 30 years! On a weekday...

Great for little kids and dogs, good place to backpack in and camp with the family. It's getting cold overnight this time of year.

First backpacking trip with my 8 yr old. great introduction, beautiful spot, so many fish! was fairly busy as it was a weekend in August in the Uintas, but much less so than some other options off Mirror Lake Hwy.

Great hike for families and little kids. More crowded than I would have liked. There were quite a few hikers with fishing poles headed on to the next lakes.

A gorgeous, easy walk around beautiful Mirror Lake. Well defined and maintained trail, with boardwalks over any marshy areas. Went on Monday, Aug 7, 2017 - trail was a tad "busy", but mostly people with children sparsely dotting the lake fishing. Met some great people - and they joined us for the walk. Very easy (flat) walk - not at all technical - but the views of the lake with Bald Mountain in the backdrop was breathtaking! Allow time to stop and read the signs about nature - and to get acclimated with the elevation. Zero bugs, pretty flowers, and a nice ride out there. We left from Park City, drove to Mirror Lake (2 Wheel Drive rental car) and then kept going to Evanston, WY., where we jumped on to Rte. 80 for the return. Easily stopping along this beautiful ride in places to take photos or small walks to meadows, waterfalls. The people were so nice, the scenery beautiful. Bring water/snacks - not many convenience stores along the trip. Pack it in and pack it out.

Easy beautiful trail. Large rocks and dirt trails go through patches of trees, rock platforms and fields of wildflowers and brooks. I went in the beginning of August and there were still lots of beautiful flowers all over throughout the trail. The trail itself is well maintained and defined. Don't get confused by the pond, the lake is further and has a wood sign on a tree. You can actually do an easy loop around the Lake perimeter as well which takes you through more patches of trees and fields of flowers. There were yellow lilies on the far side as well as nice camp sites. I also saw lots of chipmunks and deer even! This is a new favorite!
