Ubby-Doo Goes Hiking Map

An excellent trail but was unable to finish because of bad weather coming in and it getting too dark.

Great hike all around! Definitely need good boots as the trail was completely covered in snow and it is a decent incline. Beautiful wooded landscape throughout and lightly trafficked. Close to Park City but you feel like you’re more remote!

My husband and I hiked this trail on Saturday March 10. It was a sunny 50 degrees... we regretted not bringing sunscreen!

On the day we went, there was actually a race event going on, so for the first 15 minutes, we were cheering on runners as we passed them on the trail.

The initial ascent was moderate, but not too grueling, and the rest of the way was more level. We saw one herd of about 100 bison.... very cool to see. The views of the lake and the Wasatch Front were beautiful. We took the optional short side route to the beacon. Pretty neat to see, and good view up there. The backside of the trail was more tedious, with fewer spectacular views.

Trail has no shade, so be prepared! Overall a nice, unique hike!

Hiked it 3/6/18. In total it took about 4 hours to complete. It was challenging, but not overwhelming.

Really would like to try it in the summer.

Excellent ride today. 37 degrees. Sunny. Varying conditions. Snow, sand, mud, gravel. Many bison around. More than I've seen in 20 yrs of riding here.

This. So wonderful. Some good work to get to the top, and you’ll be pleasantly rewarded. Took about 3 hours to summit and 1 hour to descend. I’d love to night hike this in the summer.

Trail was muddy after the turn from the living room. Along the final climb spikes were very useful because of the hard ice up.

The trail was really pretty and easy, however when we went down, there were approximately 700 Boy Scouts coming up on a Friday night, as well as some other groups, and there aren’t really a ton of camp spots. So I recommend it for a day hike, but if you camp there, you may be sharing it with a lot of the Boy Scouts in Utah county. When I have more time I want to head up to silver glance lake above.

This is a stunning peak. We (unknowingly) went during the first snowfall of the season, but it was just a light dusting that made everything more spectacular in late September. Good for fall colors. We went up the east side and down the west side. I felt the east side was easier but I don’t know if that’s actually true. It was definitely more popular.

Such a great morning to be on Grandeur. This was my first time up the backside and it was nice and gradual compared to the steep climbs on the valley face. Lots of friendly people on the trail and the dog owners were very respectful (much appreciated). I used spikes for the last 1/4 mile, more just to use them as I lugged them up there, and are not necessary but helpful. Arrived at the summit 10 min before sunrise for some great pics of the sun peaking it's head out. Great views

Completed this hike on 2/3/18. This is always a great easy-moderate hike with great views of downtown SLC and plenty of wildlife. Lots of wind at the summit, but still worth it.

Went up early afternoon, south facing slopes are slushy and got my socks wet but no big deal, spikes would be useful on the last 100 yards of the summit but not necessary. Otherwise fun hike w/ great views

Gorgeous area ! Spectacular waterfall. It’s a must !!! I’ve hiked it a few times.

Nice hike. I was surprised by a large group of Ultra Marathon runners running for the RUFA 2018 run. Very nice group of extreme runners. Trail was icy and snowy up top and spikes were definitely needed. Took me 1:40 to reach Peak

Gorgeous hike. Worth it to hike to waterfall. This was my little border collie puppy, Koa first hike...so much fun. I recommend bringing water and a snack for yourself and dog. If you have micro spikes for your hiking boots bring them. There was on spot going back with ice where we had to slide down and I had to have my boyfriend catch me because I went down super fast.

The butterflies in the summer are unbelievable. My daughters like us to take a picnic and rest by the beautiful little stream. One of my favorite family-friendly hikes!

Good hike 2/10/18. Little bit of snow, cloudy, lots of trail runners. Microspikes handy. Saw numerous people slipping and falling on their ass.

Great hike yesterday. Spikes would be nice at the top, but not needed. Crazy hiking in Feb with it 60 degrees.

Did this hike 4 days ago and the ice was minimal, although there were a few sections where spikes were a godsend (esp on the way down). Gorgeous views, as always, but this was my first time doing any kind of winter summit so I was extra stoked. Beautiful views at the top!!

Amazing views! This was a bit more difficult in the snow and the trails were icy in spots. Need to wear good shoes/boots to accommodate the snow/ice

Great trail loop!

This was a wonderful hike, beautful scenery and waterfall. The snow covers 90% of the trail, but the footing is safe and trails are clear.

Love this hike! First time going and the scenery is beautiful! Wear your micro spikes or you’ll have a hard/funny time coming down ;)

A couple inches of snow covered the ice and we only used microspikes on the way down for a little extra traction. Amazing hike.

Beautiful hike up and fun sledding down!

beautiful! its a little tedious but definitely worth the visit

Love this hike and the changes in terrain. Love the bench that is right before the main waterfall.

Nice easy hike with some scenic views.
