If you leave early enough, you will be shaded by the canyon for most of the hike. We started a little after 6am and it was shaded the whole way there—however, the sun had risen over the canyon by the time we were heading back. We stayed at the falls for a bit. There was plenty of water running through them—beautiful—some people were even jumping in! Try to stay on the trail by paying attention to trail markers, it’s easy to miss them when you get to the riverbed.

Beautiful mountains and wonderful “ side trails”

Worth the trip. Very well maintained trails. Beautiful!

I loved this trail! There wasn’t much water when I went so I’ll definitely be going again. A lot of flat hiking then a lot of incline towards the end.

It was hard, but amazing views and at the end the Seven Falls!

Went out today for an afternoon hike. The trail is in great shape. There was a lot of water today. We were able to swim at the pools at the falls. Lots of frogs and lizards on the trail today.

Awesome workout, I enjoy watching planes takeoff and land while listening to Air Traffic Control on my phone. This hike restores my faith in humanity, seeing so many families out working out together and trying to get in shape. This hike is definitely not easy!

Awesome refreshing swim at the top! Can’t beat it!

Great scenery! Enjoyed the trail around Bell Rock and walking through trees, up pathways and seeing all sides of the rock formation. Highly recommend paying attention to the trail markers to ensure you follow the loop and don’t end up on the wrong side of the fence. Definitely worth the stroll!

The views were great but the end of the trail isn’t very cute. I expected something else I guess

If you are looking fora work out, this is the hike you want. Summer get really hot in Tucson, so 630 to 730 is a good window to scape the Tucson hot weather. I loved it.

The best cardio workout you can get in an hour! Dawn is my favorite time as it's beautiful and you can beat the crowds. Tons of wildlife and I regularly see deer, javelina, coyotes and rabbits. It's paved but could be hard on your knees on the way down. Stunning views from the top! Totally recommend!

One of the tougher trails in the Tucson area. The cooler option hangs a left and back-countriez up to the gaurd above finger rock.

Amazing early morning hike. Quiet and cool. The colors as the sun was rising against the hills was stunning.

Started at 5:45 in the morning and the trail was busy. Not sure what hasn't already been said about the route. Definitely felt the burn on the way up and the downhill bothered one of my knees but I probably would have been ok if not for doing Mt. Lemmon yesterday. The trail signs gave me an excuse to stop and catch my breath. LOL. Crowds were a little much on the way down and I don't understand large groups that hog the path by walking side by side. But, all in all, was a good heart pumper before my drive home.

This was my first time walking up Tumamoc. The path is a paved access road for official vehicles only. There are a few steep areas that are a nice challenge. My girlfriend and I left at 7:50pm for the cooler temps and for views of the city lights.

There are a number of plaques along the paved road with information and facts about wildlife and scenery. At almost all of the switchbacks there is a bench with a view if you need a rest or want to take in the sights. There is a small lookout area facing the city at the top.

Nice hike for family. Great lunch spot at the falls.

challenging incline, paved path, great exercise, great views, learn about local wildlife along the path, crowded

Loved this trail. Took us about 2.5 hours. Quiet, serene, and relatively flat. Highly recommend for all ages!

This is a wonderfully hard and satisfying uphill hike! It is 10 miles total. I’ve never seen horses on this trail nor would it be a good trail for them. 4,200’ of elevation gain.

The trail is well-marked and gorgeous, but do NOT try to scale and summit Bell Rock. The trail leading to the south side is washed out, and leaves maybe 1-2 ft from the edge of the cliff circling back around to the north on the right side of the rock. Stay on the north side.

One of the coolest views of the city!

Highly recommend for sunset. The views are beautiful, it’s easy to find and follow, and it’s a good workout! My only complaint is that it’s pretty crowded - even in the summer!

It was 108 today. I hiked with my 18 year old daughter. We had plenty of water. We stayed hydrated but it was just hot. Towards the end we were hating life. Every step down was a massive effort. Realistically, we should have turned back before we reached the end of the trail. But now that I’m cooled off, I’m really proud of the picture I have of the end of trail sign. We want to do this again anytime the temperature is under 100.

Trail is actually closer to 4.25m, great hike though, some uphill climbing but not too difficult. I wouldn’t necessarily take kids though, pre-teen and above...

I’ve just recently started hiking so this trail was definitely challenging for me. A friend and I made it to the falls area 05/20/18. I wanted to quit a few times along the way.

We started our hike at 5:15 am and arrived back to the vehicle by 10:00 am. I drank 3 liters of water.

I am so thankful to all of the strangers that passed by picking up on my “quitter” vibe and offered such encouraging lies such as, “You’re almost there!”, “Oh so close, don’t stop!”, and my favorite, “It’s just around the bend.”, all the while we still had no less than a mile + left.
If not for your push I quite possibly would have quit. That hike was so important to me as it was the one year anniversary to of my brother’s passing. I had to make it to the end and back.

The view is beautiful. The trail is rocky and rough at times. Wear good hiking shoes/boots rather than running shoes if you have weak ankles or are a beginner hiker. My legs were so PO at me by the time i had started back down the trail that they absolutely refused to pick my feet up so I stubbed my toes and tripped a lot going down. So thankful no one knew my name as I’m pretty sure I looked like I was coming off of a binger at the last stretch to the trailhead.

Will definitely do this one again.

I love walking this paved trail. It’s a great workout. It offers beautiful views of Tucson.

Beautiful trail, but much more difficult than I was led to believe. I have a fair amount of hiking experience and this was a rougher trek than I was expecting. Also climbing up and down the falls can be sketchy even if the rocks aren't wet they're still very slick. Also call ahead and make sure the falls are running before taking this trail. We didn't think do so and the falls only had small pools no running water not even a trickle. I'd go back if I knew the falls were running, but if not there's no way.

Edit: it's also a bit longer than indicated
