Good hike - saw a lot of desert flowers and a few birds. The trail was not marked at all though, so All Trails was necessary to make sure we stayed on the path
Fun little hike. Not a great deal of elevation change. It barely ranks as moderate, in my opinion. However, it’s a beautiful hike with great views. One thing I would warn against is that it’s very easy to start with one trail or loop in mind and then end up on a completely different path. Pay close attention to your maps. There are many trails going in different directions.
Fantastic! Easy loop with a few built in stairs. Definitely, a nice hike to plan with visitors.
Not too much allergy material out there today! Most of the pollen producers burned to the ground in last summers fire!
pleasant, easy walk with constant scenery. Not too hot starting at 5:15p; sunset colors on canyon walls.
This is an amazing loop even in drought. We did the loop clockwise. In the uphill north stretch we passed through the burned areas from the Big Horn fire which were slowly recovering. There were very few, but still some wildflowers because of the drought. Even a few areas with Mexican gold poppies. The south return loupe had spectacular scenery and was very different from the uphill loop.
Great little loop! I took my time, sat around by the stream. You have to cross it a few times. I enjoyed walking through the water, but it would be easy to stay dry. I branched off to the Bridle Trail for the last tiny bit back to the trail head. Fascinating to see all of the burned areas from the fire last year.
it was hot, needed to start earlier. lot of sparse areas from fire.
Our first time and it was beautiful. We could have started at 7 but it really didn’t get hot until the last half hour. We also enjoyed some shade a third of the way up. Wildflowers are just starting to bloom. The ocotillo were amazing and mostly in their peak.
Water in the stream today
Fire damage amazing. Wildflowers beautiful on trail to Dorthey’s Wash
Quintessential 5 star easy hike. Mountain views, cacti fields and stream crossings- beautiful!
Easy trail. Love taking the dogs to play in the water.
I now know why someone wrote “lots of entrances.” We would have been lost if not got our trail app. Zero trail signs, which is tricky when you get into some of the rocky gorge areas. Some of those areas I’d definitely rate moderate, not easy so maybe we did veer off a few times. Some pretty variety of scenery, just know what you are getting into.
Surprisingly great with more water than I anticipated. Very dog friendly, well maintained trail. Mostly dirt, a few trails. You can see fire remains, but it’s still a very tranquil hike. My dog absolutely loved it
Easy loop trail - not crowded today! We added some bushwhacking to go further up into the canyon.
Awesome hike. Great views. We mixed up a few loops.
Fun trail, friendly people, lots of dogs. There was some water, the dogs enjoyed playing in it.
This trail was fairly easy, but it’s not flat and there are many areas where rocks are protruding from the ground which can trip you up if you’re not paying attention. I brought my small dog with me and it was nice to have some running water in the creek for him to drink/cool off since it was pretty warm today. He was able to walk through the water in most places with it only coming up to his belly. I’m sure in the later parts of spring/summer it will be deeper. Also, lots of people on the trail and in the water/creek areas.
