It was a nice, scenic hike. there was plenty of water in the pools below to swim in. The hike back up definitely works your thighs and calves.

Nice hike. Not too difficult. Beautiful views

Wonderful view, great workout with decent inclines. Not to much not too little. Be sure to be aware of Mountain Lions since this is the kind of area they are in. Some cool climbing spots along the way.

Beautiful hike, rocky in spots.

Great family trail, not to difficult yet a good decent hike. Dog friendly

Started early becuz there is no shade. Beautiful views and green thanks to the monsoons

Giving it 1 star to highlight that this trail doesn't really exist. You cannot get through to the starting point; it goes through a gated community.
Then, as noted in another review, there are no hot springs.
This being said, if you head to the regular Agua Caliente trail, it is great. Really nice views of the valley (and yes, trail is not best from March to October ... way too hot, as I found out yesterday).
So in summary, pretty much everything in this trail description needs to be updated :)

Great trail, the reward of water at the end makes it totally worth it! Parked at the trailhead on Bear Canyon Rd which made it approximately 6.5 mi. My 8 & 12 yr old handled the distance just fine. Not a ton of water, but enough to get in and cool off. Would like to do again in the spring.

Amazing views defiantly must go trolly was down so it was 8 miles instead of 4 but was well worth the trip we went during dry season and the water was 10 feet at one point I’m 12 and did this so it wasn’t to deficult

Awesome! Wear your best boots and bring bug spray! Enjoy!

Beautiful views! You can feel the mileage, but it isn't miserable- pleasant burn. Food and water a must.

Awesome hike! Top pools had nice water, waterfall was running but not vigorous. My GPS was 8.56 from parking out and back, FYI.

A little more difficult than expected, about 6 switchbacks. Beautiful scenery! Take lots of water.

Amazing! We went swimming at the end - what a blast. We did this hike with 6year old twins. There are some steep parts at the end, but little ones can make it with a hand here and there. Absolutely worth it!!

Beautiful hike. Bring lots of water, a lunch and some energy chews. Definitely feels like 8 miles but well worth it when you get the the pools of water and the waterfalls! Bring a swim suit. And some sun screen ❤️ you will love it

Moderate trail. The deeper in lots of rocks to climb and small pools of water. Nice options for views and just a couple hours commitment

make sure you bring you water. no shade. will definitely come back in the winter/spring when the falls are more than a dribble.

one of my favorite trails

Nice introduction to trails in Tucson . Interesting hike with every kind of iconic cactus you could imagine.

There is no marked trail below the canyon. Just climb between the rocks. A little dangerous but funny. When I went there, the fall is very small, but the pool under the fall is still very beautiful.

Hiked this yesterday around 7am before the heat. Starts with a few switchback to get you down to the riverbed. This is the driest I've seen this trail. There's water puddles here and there, with some trickling water. The lower water level does allow for easier climbing and route choice. Take your time on the final accent as you either go straight up the rock face or around the side. There's still plenty of stagnant water at the falls but no actual waterfall, which is a little disappointing, still a beautiful canyon though.

Awesome trail. Came across a rattler between the parking lot and the trailhead, so keep your eyes peeled. The initial descent is gradual, when you get to the river bed it’s fairly easy going except a few spots require some climbing over rocks. We had our 7 yr old walking with us and 10 month old in our Deuter III. There were a few larger rocks in the river bed that provided adequate shade for breaks for snacks. Unfortunately, with the kids progress was slow, starting the hike at 7 am, we turned back around around 830 due to the heat. I’m not sure if we would have been able to make it much further with the child carrier on anyway. All in all, a great hike, I hope one of these days once it get cooler we’ll be able to finish without having to worry about the heat.

What an awesome trail, definitely a hard trail.. great views. Lots of birds to see!! Glad I got to finish it this time and no rain!! Lots of shaded areas during the trail!! A must do again and add some of the side trails along the trail!!

If you like hordes of people with kids and dogs running loose then this is your hike!

If you leave early enough, you will be shaded by the canyon for most of the hike. We started a little after 6am and it was shaded the whole way there—however, the sun had risen over the canyon by the time we were heading back. We stayed at the falls for a bit. There was plenty of water running through them—beautiful—some people were even jumping in! Try to stay on the trail by paying attention to trail markers, it’s easy to miss them when you get to the riverbed.

Made the trek at 6am, finished at 9am. No water moving in the pools, just standing water that looked gross, so that was a bit disappointing. Nice little hike though! Best time to do it in the summer is sunrise. The whole flat beginning was in the shade, mountain provided some shade on the trail once the sun came up, and the sun was behind us as we hit the flat land home. Lots of rattlesnakes. Be nice to do this when there’s water in the pools! Beautiful views however.

Beautiful mountains and wonderful “ side trails”

It was more than moderate.... I thought it was a tough hike.

Beautiful hike, started at 5:30am and out by 9:30am. There was a good rain last night and the pools were full this morning. Spectacular views and great color everywhere. The desert was full of life today. Well worth the effort to get into the canyon.
