Super easy but fun. Plus you're by the beach so bonus! Make a day of it to make it worth your while. Also don't expect a waterfall if you go in July. Because if you do, you're an asshole and I hate you.

first time really like it

Great safe walk with family or challenge yourself and run up the back side!

This is always going to be favorite “go to” trail. I love the view and the length and variety that this trail has to offer. Free convenient parking is a short walking distance from the base of the trail on either the street or at the park. It’s also a perfect trail for strollers, dogs leashed, even children. Great trail the whole family can enjoy. Watch out for little critters passing by (just like you would encounter on any nature walk). Make sure to wear a hat and bring lots of water during the summer months because there isn’t a whole lot of shade. The trail can take anywhere from 1-1.5 hours depending on if you do the entire trail or just the quick loop around. As long as you’re staying on the designated paths provided, you’re sure to enjoy a safe and fun exercise :)

Easy hike , good for kids and nice waterfall at the end. Can climb the hill next to falls if you are up to it. Be careful of loose rocks.

good for family. has nice views of the city.

My first “moderate” rated hike with AllTrails. First 2/3 of trail was pretty gradual incline. As a newbie, I took it at a bit of a slow pace but I definitely was painfully surprised by the last .88. It was a fight, but worthwhile trail to finish for me. If you’re looking for inclines and feeling really in the woods, this a solid trail for the area.

Love this trail!

Always a really fun hike although the waterfall is normally pretty dry

Love going before the sunrise, the view is unbelievable.

Did this hike today , I wouldn’t say easy but not hard. It was hot , little shade. My dogs needed a few breaks for water. Water fall was beautiful from what we heard more water than usual. I will do it again.

Hiked up here on a beautiful morning. Great hike for beginners but I chose to scale some rocks up near the top as well. Architecture of the place is reminiscent of Old California. Missions and the like. Great hike and can’t say enough about the views from all angles of this trail.

I'll be leading the original "Pentachaeta Loop" hike (named by me) on 4/29. RSVP here: https://www.meetup.com/localhikers/events/249531489/

Great for a quick workout. You can walk the trail or hike up the side trails. It gets busy with a lot of people depending on the time of day. I usually night hike which makes it a lot better to breathe.

Nice trail with great views, my kids love it!

My absolute favorite hike, for a workout my def go to hike.

Fun, awesome and beautiful. One of my favorites.

Very nice casual hike. Perfect for kids, great views with beautiful wild flowers in the spring.

Beautiful view and a great place to take your kids. My 5 and 4 year old enjoyed it.

Beautiful green and lush. Got lost at some point because there are other trails that branch off but no trailhead signs. Worth it though for a quick workout.

The last .88 miles is no joke! Not too much snow at the top small patches. Make sure you stay left on the way down otherwise you’ll go into private property.

This hike is accessible for everyone. The Paths are paved and kid friendly.

Neat little hike, with the chance for some decent rock climbing if you’re up for it. The falls were a little underwhelming (dry).

I liked this trail .. but I like all trails. The way to get there is kinda tricky once you turn on old canyon road you go thru this narrow but windy road that leads to the dirt road wich you have to go thru. Then you pay 5 dollars wich you put in a envelope and put in box rip top part of envelope that is the permit and proof of payment. Trail is quiet and beautiful. Only thing I did not like it is not properly signed meaning there is no sign on the trail to let you know where you are and other trails along the way. Overall great work out . Ooh nd lots of ants

couldn't make it to the top because of the snow but other than that I'll definitely come back

Really good trail. Easy to follow track with only a little bit of snow near the top.

Parking limited. Crowded in some spots. Crossing at little creeks along the way. Nice under 5 hike in and out but can get crowded.

Beautiful hike! If you enjoy hiking through the snow then I would definitely suggest this trail for this time of year. Beautiful scenery and light snow was falling down through the whole hike. Definitely one I would do again.

Packed with kids due to the easy pace of the hike but a nice payoff at the falls.
