Got there around 8am on a Wednesday. Trail started to get crowded after 10. Was snowing and lots of fog. First mile of the trail is snow covered with ice. I managed without poles or spikes, but they would have been helpful. Eventually snow disappears as you head down the canyon and the sun came out. It went from winter to summer. Beautiful views the ENTIRE way! This was the only trail I did in the park as I was passing through and I felt very satisfied with it. I would rate it as easy. Very gradual incline. Smooth and wide path.
Nice views
Beautiful! Ooh Aah better view than cedar ridge. Great views whole way down. Cedar ridge has toilets but other than that not necessary to go to imo. Way down is scary to walk cause it’s narrow, way up not scary but super strenuous.
Great hike with great views with a minimal exertion!
Lovely trail
A very small amount of ice the first 75 feet of trail but clear and breezy the whole way. Took us about 2.75 hours from top to Cedar Point.
Don't be phased by the short segment of snow in the beginning. The rest of the trail is clear. Definitely approachable for for anyone with an acceptable exercise tolerance.
Went on 2/23/2021 and amazing views! Park your car at parking lot 2 and take the free Orange shuttle to get here. Since cars are not allowed on certain roads to get to this trail. It’s a decline down (easy) but incline going back up (like going on the stair master - hard) ! Not crowded. Not icy. This is the warm trail with sunshine. Some areas will get cold. Definitely bring a jacket. I didn’t use any hiking sticks to do this trail but would bring them if u have them. I wore hiking boots but this trail u can probably get away with w gym shoes one. I made a tik tok video if you wanna check out the view : https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeYqFjTc/
Fun! Great before you head home or just want a taste of the trail.
Great views of Cathedral rock. Easy path. Beautiful creek with slabs of red rock running into it. $11 parking.
Gorgeous views all the way. Hiked 2/18/21. Not crowded at all. So nice to see so many “smiling faces”. Trails very well maintained. Did not need spikes, poles were helpful for me. We went all the way to skeleton and around the corner to see the river from up above. So cool! Loved the hike!!
This was a great hike! We parked on the road and walked about half a mile to the trailhead. We hiked down the canyon cliff to Cedar Ridge point and back. The views going down were breathtaking. Watching the mules along the trail was an experience, plus it gave me an opportunity to rest while we sat aside to give them room to pass. Going up was a challenge for a beginner like me but fun! Definitely recommend this trail.
Awesome trail, the winter weather was beautiful but also really windy and a little scary at points but overall amazing. I got to see Mules too!
Amazing!
Beautiful area. Nice calm hike without straining yourself
Great trail! Well maintained. Incredible views. Requires sure footing at times as it can be dusty.
I was a little apprehensive as it has been a while since I was active outdoors, but I 'm really proud of myself for doing this. the temp was cold, drizzled a bit, and we even got some snow but that was all a blessing as I heated up on the hike back. I could not do this hike in >50F temp! wonderful hike! the view was staggering.
Worth it
Beautiful but challenging. We'll do it again!
Awesome hike! We ended up turning back at Cedar Ridge thinking it was a good start for rookies like us. Trail was well maintained and views are spectacular the whole way through. No water this time of year but bathrooms at Cedar Ridge were open.
