Short and fun!

5 stars for kids and photo buffs. Especially good for those who usually limit their viewing to the parking lot for whatever the reason. Great place for the folks from the East to take a selfie in a slot canyon to impress their Facebook friends One star for the experienced hard core hiker. We go here for pictures just about every time we come to the park after the “real” hikes.

Antelope Canyon was formed by erosion of Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding through the northern area of Arizona. Rainwater runs into the basin above the slot canyons, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways have eroded away, making the corridors deeper and smoothing hard edges to form characteristic flowing shapes in the rock. The slot canyons are a popular location for photographers and sightseers and are accessible with Navajo guides only and also are a healthy source of business for the Navajo Nation as well.

Upon entering “the slots” you know you’re in for a unique experience. Weaving along twisting tunnels, the intense beams of sunlight catch your attention first. But as your eyes adjust, a different world is apparent… shadowed areas open up to reveal swirling walls carved out by years of erosive activity. Then more tunnels and more light beams… taking you into a world where your imagination prevails. Truly a mesmerizing experience... and this surrealistic pleasure is located just below the Earth’s surface!
A must-see for all curious adventurers.

It's a sandy incline up to the top, but there is a convenient gazebo along the way, if needed. Be careful when you arrive as there are no barriers on the rim of the overlook. However the views of the winding Colorado River 1000 ft. below are breathtaking!

Too many tourist.

This was amazing! It is $50 per person but totally worth the views. The tour guide is extremely helpful with taking pictures as well! A must see!!

Very short hike in. Visited in the off season, and went for the sunset. It was still very busy, so get there well in advance. Take a blanket so you can sit along the edge and hang out.

For those of you who do not know, Tours must be booked to do this! Would recommend going in the summer and when the sun is in the middle of the sky, I went in the fall and the light rays were not as great (as told by our guide). Very busy, but worth seeing.

Oct 6 2018- we started at about 650 am. Parking was fine. It was a short easy hike with lots of other people. Beautiful scenery and views of horseshoe bend. We were done in a little under an hour, with time for lots of pictures.

I did lower antelope canyon, as the light rays don't come through the upper antelope canyon in the winter so I didn't think the upper would be worth the money. The lower antelope canyon is cheaper and it was great to visit. Go on first tour with Dixie Ellis or last tour with Ken's. This is a must go place, forget about the wave that most of us probably won't get drawn anyway, white pocket is as good with no permit is required, you can go there any time. it's a long drive though, from 89 exiting point to white pocket, it's about 36 miles of off road drive, most of vehicles can make to the pine tree pocket ranch, the last 12 mile drive to white pocket is deep sand, which requires true 4x4 with high ground clearance.

beautiful hike easy enough for the whole family,

Awesome slot canyon, with many cool shapes in the rock. You have to pay for a tour to this canyon which costs around $50. We went in mid November and it was very busy and apparently even busier in summer. The amount of people did kind of ruin the essence of the canyon but still worth doing if your willing to pay the price. Also bare in mind however cold it is it will be colder in the canyon.

on Horseshoe Bend Trail

Short sandy walk over to horseshoe bend. Was very busy but a beautiful thing to see. Walk over from car park is about 10 minutes. Lots of parking and toilets at the trailhead. If you want to miss the crowds definitely head-over at sunrise/early morning. Also beware rumour is they are going to start charging $25 per person to go see horeshoe bend so get there fast before that happens

Beautiful and easy hike. Definitely wear closed toe shoes as there are a lot of rocks on the trail. If possible, try to do the hike on a weekday. The parking is very limited. I hiked this trail on a Wednesday in September. Tons of hikers even though it was a week day. I tried again on Thanksgiving and got stuck in traffic trying to get to the parking lot. I could see a nearly continous line of hikers from 0.25 miles away from the entrance.

Short hike to amazing views, we spent a couple hours here enjoying the scenery. Horseshoe Bend is a must see, but pretty busy spot.

This was an amazing hike with a brilliant tour guide named Shane. So glad we did this adventure. The canyon was gorgeous and we had a small group.

Nice to see! We made this a pit stop on our drive from Flagstaff to Zion. We had a 10:30 am antelope canyon tour so stopped by here before. It was cool to see but not the best lighting yet at 8:30 in the morning. It’s a quick pit stop. Spent about 35 min here. Came back after our tour finished at noon because we weren’t in a hurry to get to Zion. Lighting was much better. Would recommend to see if you’re in the area. Not something I would go out of my way for though.

Looked at this hike for years as a possible hike. Finally decided to give it a try. Glad I did. The last little bit of the hike was a little to close to a neighborhood for my liking. Had a great view from the mouth of the cave. Even if the cave was small in depth but large in size.

Loved this shorty hike. A must if you’ve never been in a slot canyon. Great for kids or older adults in just a few minutes you can get the slot canyon experience.

Oh heck yes!! This was on my bucket list and worth every single penny!

Crowded but worth it.

Go for sunrise! View is amazing, tourists are not.

Just returned from visiting one of most photographed canyon
It should be on Bucket list of every body

Fun stop at sunrise. Trail is sandy and descends to the viewpoint and is great to fly down. Canyon rim will be filled with photographers, but plenty of room to wander. Fairly flat areas to just run free and explore on the red rock await at the end of trail.

Amazing! Would do it again and highly recommend it to anyone. Easy hike/walk for all.
