amazing trail, will definitely come back again. the entire hike was scenic and surrounded by trees. not so strenuous and beautiful the whole loop. there are many mountain bikers on this path as well

Great view throughout. A lot of shade but also a lot rocks scattered along the path. Easy parking. Very clean area in general.

Beautiful hike, highly recommend making the short hike to see the Nike Missile Launch site. It’s the only one in the US still open to the public. Open Saturdays 12-4pm

Great trail with mildly steep inclines broken up with flat/easy terrain. Definitely come on a clear day for incredible views of the city. Free parking is available at the Quarry Picnic Area.

Great hike: shaded, redwoods and a little incline. About 1 hour 20 minute hike.

I don’t know why people were saying this trail isn’t easy. I don’t hike all that often, and while it was lengthy for time spent on your feet, it certainly isn’t strenuous. I went the direction of Sunset to Cinderella (counterclockwise). This way had a lot of downhill toward the end which was slippery and no fun if you have bad knees. I recommend maybe going the other direction (clockwise). You may get a little more uphill workout but then it will chill out. A small window of views of the bay, but that’s it. Otherwise just a pretty trail. 85% shade. Went at 1:30pm on a Monday. Few families with dogs and a few bikers, nothing crazy. Enjoyed it overall!

Beautiful Trail! First half is downhill, second half mostly up. I ended up coming back on the West Ridge Trail instead of the French trail and this worked out fine, just a bit of extra elevation. Plenty of spots to cut through back to the French section if desired. Not too many people on a weekday and nice and shaded.

This used to be a family favorite. The trail has been destroyed by heavy mountain bike use. Signs of trail erosion are evident with plants and shrubbery covered and suffocating under layers of trail dust. Prepare to cover your airway when bikes wiz past, kicking up clouds of dust.

Beautiful really well shaded trail. Lots of space for most of the hike on the trail. Got a little turned around but had fun finding our way back.

A great little trail for canyon views. The trail narrows in some places. Picnic tables at the trail head + restrooms. Limited parking. About 1 -1.5 hour depending on your speed and viewing activity.

Really cute trail, narrow in places since you're walled in by forest either side. Shaded and pretty. Excellent for families - our kids loved reading every sign! Quite a bit of poison oak on the lower trail, with some extending over into the path so be aware if you're as allergic as I am!

Great little hike

We loved the information plaques. One unidentifiable junction, but otherwise well sign posted and maintained. Family of five, blown away by the bay leaf forest. Great trail for kids.

This is by far the best trail I’ve had the opportunity to hike. The views are astonishing. Some parts were steep with lose rocks but overall this hike was easy. Not very crowded and very quiet. Will definitely be back several more times.

Great trail. Starting with North Ridge trail begins you with many stairs but it is by far the hardest part of the entire trail so you get it out of the way quickly. The top views on Mt. Livermore is literally 360 and gorgeous. Make sure you bring water and sun screen- as it gets more open and less opportunities of shade as you go up.

Taking Sunset trail down sets you up for great views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A few animal sightings- deer, lizards, birds, and little rodent friends. Make sure you keep track of time- I hiked up and ran down the other end which made for a good workout going down as well! Would totally do it again and will probably bring new comers to the area!

It said easy so I wore normal shoes and slipped several times on steep rocky downhill areas. It’s also super dusty because of all the mountain bikes, so instead of looking at green foliage it’s all brown.

I'm rating this trail 1 star because it is definitely not an easy trail. If you're a novice you won't like this trail. Definitely a beautiful hike but this trail has 100s of mountain bikers on it. I had to move around 50 times out of the way of mountain bikers. There were areas on the trail only 2 feet wide where you have to make room for mountain bikes moving at 25 mph. This trail is not KID FRIENDLY like suggested above. Steep hills with unsafe conditions. I went with my sister and towards the end of the trail we saw a family approaching the trail and urged then to turn around. We warned them that it wasn't safe for kids. Out of control mountain bikers make this trail uncomfortable and nerve recking during tight quarters. It's a beautiful trail that should be dedicated to either hiking or mountain biking, not both. I'm not a rookie hiker. I've been on over 100 hikes from this all trails app

Starts off easy enough but gets challenging on the bottom half. Especially the French trail section.

Views were excellent, take it counter clockwise for a calm downhill section to an incline and then another downhill. Through the shade and at the end is a picnic ground, did not partake as another party had occupied the area plan to next time. 1 hour 20 minutes perfect mid day hike

A nice place but ALOT OF PEOPLE. Stream trail is basically a paved walkway. A lot of big groups. We did have a nice picnic

Beautiful views on nice, well marked trails. A hidden gem

Awesome trail. I’m new to hiking and getting in shape. This trail kicked my ass. The last half mile-ish back up to the parking lot is killer and I had to stop a few times to catch my breath. It’s definitely the higher end of moderate.

Great labeling of the wild flowers.

Shaded beautiful trail.Worth it!!

One of my favorite hikes! Really nice views if you hit it on a non-foggy day, but the eucalyptus groves in thick fog are just as pretty. Challenging enough to feel like a workout but not too tough. Nice choice for dog walking too.

Quite a bit of shade, good for dogs

This was a nice trail it is moderate and be prepared to go off trail for Cinderella Trail. It was quite a challenge finding Cinderella trail. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my son who went with me on this hike. There are lots of bikers so don’t bring little kids under the age of 5. Overall the trail was a workout which I enjoyed.

Started at West Ridge and went on to the French trail.Kept on french trail .It had pretty steep inclines and declines.Wanted to go till Chown trail .But,took the route back to steam trail. It was about 7.5 miles hike overall. It is pretty intense and hard .
