easy viewpoint

Easy hike. Went around 8:30am on a Friday. Lots of people already. Spectacular views! Took us about an hour with stops for pictures. There is barely any shade so bring sunglasses, hats and water bottles!

Great hike for all skill levels. very rewarding view at the top. plenty of other trails branch off from the main trail to turn a few miles into a few days in the Olympics.

Crowded but pretty view
Child friendly
In the sun so bring water

Easy trail, well paved, quite a bit of incline. The river that flows into the waterfall at the top is very fun to play in. The water is nice and cold to cool you off after the hike.

I came here twice. Once in the afternoon and another time in the morning to catch the sunrise. You could see cascade mountains on one side and Victoria, B.C on the other side. The hike is very easy and paved. There is only 1 part of the hike that has a steeper incline. It takes about 45 mins from the trailhead to the peak. It was definitely a nice hike, but not the best Olympic has to offer.

Would call it a hike, just a very quick walk from the parking lot to a nice little waterfall.

Nice little hike. There is a lot of elevation gain once you get to the waterfall in the form of stairs mostly but wasn't bad. I saw an old man with a cane doing it. I love the bridge made from a local tree.

Did this hike last week in the rain. Was still a great hike even in the rain. It was a bit crowded compared to some other trails, but a must do. Beautiful plants and trees during the hike. Nice waterfall at the end. Very easy hike.

Nice moderate trail, I wouldn't categorize it as hard. Amazing views at the end. In the summer it's a great 3 hour return hike, in the winter it's an even easier 3 hour return snowshoe trail.
Highly recommended.. here is a video of our snowshoeing trip earlier this year: https://youtu.be/7FVLNTGHriw

Hikers who enjoy a physical challenge will enjoy the Grouse Grind Trail. Hikers who mainly want to appreciate the scenery may not. Hiking the trail is quite strenuous, the footing is tricky enough that you have to watch where you're walking nearly the entire time, and the trail is narrow enough and busy enough that it's not always easy to just stop and look around. The nearby BCMC trail provides an easier, if slightly longer, hike up the side of Grouse Mountain.

All of that said, this is one of the most fun hikes I've done in a while. Having a cold Molson (or other adult beverage) at the top of the mountain while taking in the views of Vancouver is a nice bonus, too!

Beautiful trail with bridges, tunnels and waterfall. Very easy until the very end there are a few steps to climb up to see the falls.

Did hike today.. nice beautiful hike... fantastic view..

The waterfall itself is magnificent, and the bridge adds a unique vantage point and looks pretty cool in photos too. I gave it 3 stars because unless you come super early or super late, you’re going to be with hundreds of other people. If you can manage to come when there’s little to no crowds, it’s easily a 5 star waterfall.

Overcrowded, extremely easy.

It's a rite of passage for anyone who likes hiking, took us 2 hours with lots of stops. Beautiful trail though. Very busy

If you come by 8.40 it's the perfect time to see this canyon. Not too crowded, and if you go to the upper falls, the light is beautiful by the time you reach them (sunrise + the smoke helped a little bit).
The first falls are very nice but the last waterfall is the best! When I came back I was so happy to have done it early, SO MANY PEOPLE!
The hike is really easy.
Perfect for smoky days.

It was an easy hike, my 6 yrs. old son didn’t complain at all. It is a 1.5 miles from Lake Crescent Lodge. Old trees are beautiful. Thumbs up for those that worked hard to maintain the trails. Five star all in all.

Exceeded expectations

Brought the dog and kids, lots of rocks and vines to climb and step over through the trail, the first lookout point you can climb down rocks to go swimming, clean clear water, very cold, and slippery rocks underneath.

Great views, the tour is good but wandering around could be just as interesting.

Crowded

Busy easy hike. Beautiful waterfall!

Beautiful waterfall!

Beautiful views the entire way up! Loved this hike!

We visited today with our two-year-old. While the hike above/after the bridge is closed, we had a nice quarter-ish mile walk up to the bridge, which is a main viewing point of the falls. Had a kid in a carrier backpack going up the hill, so the round trip was brief, but still made us break a little sweat. Uphill walk but nicely paved. Expect a crowd on the bridge. Parking lot leads right to the falls, so you can’t miss it. Only giving four starts bc main hike was closed and the first viewpoint should be marked as a separate east hike.

Short, easy trail to a beautiful waterfall. Numerous No Pet signs, but we encountered two fellow hikers who thought they were "special". Each had dogs! Folks, rules exist for a reason. We called each of these gentlemen out for their wrongdoing, but neither cared at the moment. We need to be the stewards of these beautiful areas! Oh, mosquitoes were minimal today.

great hike, slightly challenging for us older folks, but well worth the effort. Views are spectacular and wildlife did not disappoint. Not a lot of shade and it was a sunny warm day, so bring sunscreen and of course water. Enjoy the hike.

Probably would’ve given this 4 stars if it weren’t for the crowds. The trail is short and easy, so it’s hard to spread out from others, especially at the end. The trail is very pretty though, although we found the trail 7-8 miles before it off the road to be nicer just in terms of serenity as well the rainforest type scenery (the name escapes me).

The grouse grind redefines swamp ass. It’s just you against yourself in this race against your own heart beat and heavy breathing....and sweat drenched attire. Enjoy!
