Nice easy scenic trail that I did with my twin brother and four Shih Tzu companions while camping in the area several years ago.

Terrific loop trail that offers up all the best that congaree has to offer. The path is well marked and easy to follow as it is well worn in. As others have said there are several large downed trees but there are easy to follow side paths around all of them. If it's been raining and the water level is up; expect a few large puddles in the trail. But these can be negotiated easily enough. I enjoy hiking this trail for the peaceful serenity it provides.

Love this trail for a quick walk in the wilderness. This is a must see for people visiting the area. Mosquitos were not too bad big bug spray is a must. Saw a few turtles, snakes, and deer on todays trip.

This trail has been on my list for a long time. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. Full disclosure I should know better than to expect a relaxing hike in a swamp in July. The mosquitos actually weren’t too bad unless you stopped walking then it was all out warfare. The trail itself was very hard to follow in a few areas due to detours from downed trees. Saw some wildlife during this trip snakes, hogs, lots of spiders.

I mean, it doesn’t get much better than THIS!!! This place is amazing, complete with a marsh that offers frequent alligator sightings, we saw a baby one right off the overlook! And an amazing stretch of gorgeous beach with extremely convenient beach access and parking! We’ve saved so much money by just hiking, sight seeing, and swimming here at this beautiful park!

Great trail that begins on a boardwalk, transitions to trail then back to boardwalk. A small overlook of the lake is included as well and is a nice treat. The trail is well kept but still nature focused. The sights on the trail vary so you are seeing new things. The bugs are horrible of course, we wore 25% deet bug spray and didn't get bit at all. The trail was muddy even though it hadn't rained for a week, though that wasn't so much a bother. My wife and I enjoyed the trail greatly and would highly recommend it!

The trail is closed but can still be easily completed just one tree down you must go over, a couple muddy spots and starting to become overgrown but not enough yet to be a issue. Nice hike only problem that gets us every time is horse flys following you around and try to keep landing on you.

Nice boardwalk trail. The loop to Weston Lake was partially flooded and had some downed trees from wind damage. The old growth trees are awesome.

Love the elevation throughout the trails at Poinsett state park. An awesome selection of activities as well.

I keep finding myself heading back to 40 acre rock, love this place. Really cool plants inhabit the vernal pools on the rock, some only peek out for a few weeks, flower, and then return to dormancy. The most recent recording I took will ensure that you see just about everything. It includes the walk around the beaver pond, rock formations, the section along the creek, and the waterfall/cave (second stopping point).

Great park but this trail is currently closed due to flooding. The other trails are nice though.

I was not as big of a fan of this one.. its too flat I like poinsett state park

Nice walking paths with cool wooden bridges everywhere. Lots of scenic overlooks. The hiking part of the trail was overgrown and without too much to see.

Did this trail again this spring. Very different experience compared to last October. Delightful again. Love the Spanish moss and dark swampy water. Definitely a hidden gem.

I went on the part 1 of this passage on the palmetto trail (4 parts on this passage) camped and then walked back. Not a lot of water stagnant standing water but I brought enough with me. White tail deer, Turkeys lot of flowers big lob Lolly pine Forrest. Saw a lot of pitcher plants. Easy trail very fun and well maintained

Starts out easy then turns into a wilderness trek with down trees, hard to spot markers and a barley visible path. It wouldn't hurt to bring a machete.

I was the only one around on a Monday in mid May. Bugs weren’t too bad. Looks like they’re making some additions/improvements to the trail, as I got turned around a few times. Nice and peaceful. Took about just under 2 hours to do 4.8 miles, but I was taking pictures and screwing around.

Mostly flooded when I went. Boardwalk and camping area were clear. Beautifully maintained.

Beautiful trail once crossed the rocks. We took our dog and was disappointed to find broken glass throughout most of the trail. Really cool cave but smelled like urine since an obvious hangout for teens. We didn’t see a waterfall but hasn’t rained in a week. Lots of graffiti throughout the entire hike. Won’t go back.

Was a nice walk with a lot of downed trees to play on. even got to see a snake on one of the smaller bridges.

Great trail. Soft with some sections of dead pine needles and leaves, some dirt and some sand. Fairly level, easy trail. Look up on trees for white square to indicate trail. Mostly in shade.

nice easy trail with plenty of great scenery

great walk on the nature trail, saw a white fox, alligator, and plenty of heron.

Did about 4 miles of the trail. Ranger told us (in May 2018) that the 7.5 mike loop was partially closed due to fallen trees following a storm. 4 mile stretch was easy walking, no elevation change. Limited water views, a few places required stepping over fallen trees, and blazes didn’t fully match map from visitors center. Our goal was to stay on the blue trail as long as possible but we seem to have done a cut-through onto the white trail (but never saw white blazes). Also saw a post for yellow, 1 mile, but we were nowhere near the yellow-blazed trail. Thankfully we were recording with this app so we were never lost.

Nice trail.part of the loop is flooded out. Very unique scenery.

Not very well maintained bridge close but we road across it anyway nice short ride

features multiple waterfalls and has great scenery. sad there’s a bunch of graffiti, and lack of trail markers. but other than that it’s a great place.

Fantastic trail. Always take the in laws here with the kids. It’s a great loop.
