Pretty little walk going past some lovely coastal views. Hang out by one of the beaches and watch the waves crashing onto boulders. Peaceful ♥️

Their policy has changed - you must have a reservation on the weekends even to hike! It's a one lane road in and out and they turned cars away at the park making for really bad traffic jams. And the ranger told us you can't park outside Sveadal and walk through there, either. So a long drive for nothing.

Scenic walk alongside beach cliffs. First meanders around Four Seasons properties, then crosses a golf course, and then continues along fields. Fairly popular but not too crowded. Several opportunities to go down to the water towards the southern side of the walk. Windy.

The trail was nice and easy... meaning it was paved and went next to the Ritz.... it’s certainly not a trail it’s for golf carts. The beach is the nicest part at the end and you can let your dogs run off leash. But be prepared for people from the hotel and golf course looking at you oddly as you hike past.

nice area for an easy walk, enjoy the scenery and ocean breeze

Beautiful, easy walk. Many trail bikers too

Beautiful trail with wonderful views. The beginning is a bit difficult but the rest is easy. We didn’t get to finish it so we will be back. Parking is limited so make sure to go early.

Beautiful woods, friendly trails and lovely waterfalls made for a enjoyable hike on 10+ miles in 5 hours.

If you are new to this park - Poison oaks are abound so cover yourself well. The road in has lots of pot holes so drive accordingly.

Went along the right path from the parking lot, and found a lot of mud and steep ascent. That's when I realized that everyone took the left path for a more gradual climb. Got a decent hike out of it, however got lost as the trails criss-crossed, and had to double back when I found out what happened. (Found another hiker that got lost like me) After that, was a quick trip to complete the loop.

Would definitely recommend the hike, good view and the weather was great.

About 10 parking spots. Cars lined up to get one on a sunny Sunday.

Cool view, and muddy trails at random

Great hike for families - the kids loved running up and sliding down the sand dunes. Lots of dogs having fun playing off leash. Beautiful views. Better on a less windy day when the sand isn’t whipping around

West Ridge Trail never disappoints. This single track trail is in near perfect condition since the CCC’s recent efforts. The setting is beautiful second and third growth redwood forest interspersed with coastal mixed oak woodland. This park manages to feel moist and full of life even in the driest seasons. Really shady, and moderate incline for the most part. Only one exposed part of the loop toward the last stretch of WRT. I hiked this as a 14 mile loop in 4 and a half hours at a steady pace with few breaks and it felt pretty easy. Such gorgeous views of Monterey Bay and Capitola/Santa Cruz from Sand Point Overook. Watch for ticks and bikers. As with most state parks, I love this one most on the weekday mornings, as that is when it is most quiet. Aptos Fire Road on the return is just as beautiful and well-maintained, but it is just that, a fire road. The sound of running water is a joy to walk to, and there are some cool historical points with info about the logging industry in the area and life in that time.

Fantastic hike with incredible coastal views

A beautiful, quiet trail with many different personalities and no shortage of challenge. Some sections are flat, wide, and open, while others are narrow, rugged, and hilly. Overall, an excellent and pleasantly unpredictable hike that won’t leave you feeling like you need to go to the gym later. Those hills will get ya...

Easy to moderate hike with great views. Various steep hill paths that can make this more challenging.

Beautiful scenery with many route options. We ended at 2.5 miles and not the 1.5 listed. We were able to hike down to the beach for easy waking with surrounding dogs.

I wouldn't call this a trail. More like a climb on a cliff among slippery rocks. nice views but not at all a hike.

Rode my Ebike on the trail today - it is REALLY not well marked at all! I ended up on a couple of dead ends... but I will definitely go again!

Just did the loop a long timw ago...

Nice trail close to HMB. Just enough of a climb to keep the heart rate up.

Nice trails , lots of uphill .Cool View from the lookout platform .... Trails are not marked well so bring your GPS !! Overall wonderful hike with lots of banana slugs so watch your step

I recommend going clockwise. The first section of the trail is being refinished. Some switchbacks and steeper sections, but overall nice mix of up-and-down to keep it interesting.

Beautiful coastal beach trail that's easy and open and there's to see of doggies to see!

Truly one of the prettiest trails . I consider moderate to hard for being such a short trail. Cannot beat the views up there. The trails are nicely maintained and manicured . The Middle Ridge down to Arroyo is no longer- just dead ends and turn back.
