I love this trail, but Spring is upon us and it was completely and utterly unmanageably muddy today. So slow and sloppy, and intermittent extremely icy spots too.
A little icy. Definitely bring spikes.
Beautiful
The trails were beautiful and lots of beautiful views along the trail however I found it a little confusing to navigate. Also I hate the fact that people let their dogs poop all over the trails and just leave it. Even saw a few full poop bags along the walk. Maybe a few garbage bins along the trail could help with this?
Boring and need to return along the same trail
Nice paved trail.
This was my favourite Ontario hike so far! What a gorgeous walk! The coordinates brought me to some parking just outside the golf course-you can find the trail just behind the range and past the club house. This is the Oak Ridges Corridor that will lead to the Moraine trail which is a beautiful wrap around of the lake. It was quite sketchy and slippery in some areas so I would recommend either walking poles or ice cleats. Trail was a bit busier but it didn’t bother us.
Great trail for winter hiking. Lots of opportunity to venture off into the backcountry areas a bit. The trail isn’t super accurate on the app but provides great direction and allows you to explore. Overall awesome experience, will need to come back for the other seasons!
slippery! wouldn't have done it with crampons
I believe this is actually Glen Major Forest not Walker Woods which is located to the north of Glen Major. Glen Major Forest has an excellent trail system located at the headwaters of Duffins Creek with markers and maps showing its rolling hills, streams and lookout spots with good vistas.
Enjoyable. Kids 8 & 11 found it too long but there were some interesting “teepees” assembled by prior kids. Light rain and icy path made it less than optimal.
Partially closed. Very icy and slippery. Need to go back in the summer
