I did this a little less then a month ago. I was alone the entire time and the trail had mud and snow but the solitude and the views made it more then worth it! Not to hard of a climb to get to a point where I was at a view where I counted 12 lakes!!!! I dont think I made it to the Crest but the snow got at least a foot deep and was hard to see the trail by this point. I was highly satisfied with the situation and stayed at my viewpoint for at least an hour and thought in silence about how great it was.

I loved it. A panting, sweaty, water guzzling man advised I’d be better off doing an easier run at the one mile marker (swing). As he was about to turn back down looking exhausted, I kindly said thanks for the tip and kept going up. My two cents for whatever it’s worth, the top is beautiful and running back down felt amazing.

My new favorite trail. The end would have been a little better a few weeks ago, there's tons of aspens up when you go away from the creek. Unlike most trails this follows along the creek right at the start, tons of shade even in late October and still lots of color. You climb up along the side of the narrow valley following the creek, lots of cross overs from the little streams that flow into it. Hanging Lake and Grizzly Creek get all the attention in Glenwood Canyon but this is a great trail.

Awesome hike.

Awesome hike. Enjoyed the scenic views and workout. We are from sea level, to 10k elevation was a kick in the chest. Lakes were pretty, but at the end of summer, so obviously low. Fishing was unsuccessful, but had a great time. Would definitely do it again.

nice long hike by the water, mostly shady there will be a point where you'll see a broken tree on the trail and it will seem like you can't go any further but climb over it and keep going till you get to the waterfall

Great hike! Once we were above the tree line, the wind was horrible. Bring layers and hats for the summit.

Going past the main bridge is moderately worth it. Probably another 15 minutes until a nice view looking down the canyon. All of the waterfalls are about 10 minutes before the main bridge 3 miles up.

Beautiful this time of year with the color changes!! Can’t beat the views.

Great Hike! Went with my boyfriend & our puppy. We didn’t bring cash for parking so we had to walk and extra .5 miles to get to the trail. We went end of September as the leaves were changing and it was gorgeous!!

Incredible views!

I did this hike about 3 weeks ago with my friend. Lots of up. Has a very cool look-out rock over Aspen. The trail goes all the way up to the ski lodge. Just our luck the lodge was open, but the bar was closed.

Beautiful hike until you get to the top and everyone and their mom rode the gondola up.

Awesome Views! A must do hike if you’re passing through the area. Did the out and back since the lower trail was closed. Views get better and better the further you go down on the ridge.

Pretty challenging. Super windy and the sun was strong. Bring a wide-brim hat, sunscreen, and stuff for your lips so they don't get cracked. Beautiful!

Beautiful, quiet hike along a stream with old mining sites, cliffs and a lot of shade. We walked about 1/2 way and were able to overlook the small canyon with the water below. Not crowded, especially in the earlier AM.

this is the best trail i've been on, beautiful creek with flushing water, not difficult, you can actually enjoy the beautiful scenery without having to watch your feet every 2 seconds... you go as far as you want, when the creek end, it start getting a little stiff and edgy so we turned around but still go further next time!

this is better in winter

huge payoff. satisfying hike. stunning.

From TH near Dinkle Lake (8635’) , first 4 miles to very scenic Thomas Lakes are slightly rocky gently uphill (+1400’), then mile 5 is more rocky and steep (+700’). Next 1.5 miles are extremely steep (+1400’) and mostly on generally stable broken rock with moderate exposure and includes a false summit (12402’). Last 3/4 is steep (+800’), but the trail is generally visible all the way to the east summit (12954’). Very windy this date which stopped any attempt to include the west summit, which is an additional 3/4 mile down a saddle (-300’) and then back up to an almost identical summit elevation. Views from the summit in all directions are spectacular, and even more spectacular from the west summit. Three 65 year olds made the total round trip in about 8.5 hours with about 1.5 hours of stops along the way.

Have hiked this a few times and have enjoyed myself every time!! The lake is down this year, but remains breathtakingly beautiful!!

Great trail! Not many hikers on it. Lovely hike along the creek which has many waterfalls and cascades. We walked to the bridge~3 miles up. We will do this trail again when we’re in the area.

The loop is closed. You can hike the upper loop 6.5 miles for a total of 13 miles. Great hike!

Great trail, moderately steep in a few parts but nothing too difficult. Good for new hikers and kids too!

Ass kicking great 1 3/4 hour out and back hike from trail head.

The coolest part of this trail is that it follows No Name Creek all the way up the canyon (?). Someone in the comments below suggested turning back at the foot bridge. I want to clarify what they said and then offer my opinion. There is a bridge at the very beginning of this hike - about 1/2 a half - they aren't talking about this bridge. They are talking about a downed tree turned into a bridge to cross the creek further up the trail. This is a good spot to turn back, depending on how far to wish to hike. If you continue about a mile further up the trail you will come to a magnificent and breathtaking view of the surrounding canyons. I also suggest dipping your feet into the cold mountain water for a soak on a hot day!

Very challenging hike. Absolutely beautiful views all around made it worth it
