Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the great view at the end that was supposed to make it all worth it :( it was really foggy and you could barely see the people on the vista point. The trail itself is way below average to me. The downhill is sketchy when wet and you only get views at the end, and the entire time you're walking through the most boring jungle. Definitely not worth it if it was raining and you're suspecting overcast.

Great hike short but sweet

Excellent trail. Nearly all downhill en route to the end views and therefore entirely uphill heading back. Varying jungle forests and lots of roots to climb over but the views at the end are dramatic and worth it. Nā Pali coast views never let you down, so keep going even down to the dangerous precipice.

Incredible views! Going down is pretty easy when it's not too muddy. Going back is all uphill and slippery when wet.

Decent hike, mostly shaded, great views at the end. Slippery and strenuous, took approx 4 hours with a short break at the turnaround. Popular trail, get there early and hike with pono.

Beautiful and fun hike! Did this early in the morning and it poured down rain. Slippery trail. Lots of gnats because of the fruit on the trail, mosquitoes too. Crossed the river a few times which was a bit tricky. Nice stop at the beach along the way.

Get there early as the lot fills up quick. Overall, an amazing hike. The trail is mainly wooded with slippery mud and exposed roots. However, the view at the end is amazing - haven’t experienced anything like that before. Make sure to go past the lookout point for an even better view if you’re not scared of heights. Glad I did this. Took 3 hours 45 minutes with a 30 minute stop at the end.

Not just one major defined trail to the falls, this hike is made up of multiple lightly trekked trails, try and stick to trails as close to the river as possible (at times it might be easier to hike in the river). We had a couple of instances where we hiked paths that led away from the river only to discover that they were dead-ends. Easy to get discouraged on this hike, just keep going, it ends at the huge waterfall. Probably best to just hike in water shoes for this one.

A “Must” on anyone’s bucket list if hikes. Take plenty of water and snacks as the afternoon gets very hot and you are exposed to the sun.

Absolutely gorgeous hike! The hike out is easy and mostly downhill so the hike back is more challenging. The view at the end is worth every bit of huffing and puffing on the way back. I would not go past the rail line if it has been raining recently, it can be very dangerous.

Very beautiful shaded trail through the rainforest. Lots of roots and some parts do get slippery. Took my wife and I four hours (including lunch at the view) carrying our toddler in a hiking backpack, getting to the view was easy, paid for the view on the way back. Hiking poles were definitely appreciated on the ascent back. Recommend to get there early as the parking lot was half full by 7:30am.

Beautiful views of the Na Pali Coast. This trail tricks you, it’s a quick and easy walk down to the views. But if you can’t go uphill for 3.25 miles after already hiking for an hour don’t do this trail. It’s a sweaty, stair master hike. At the bottom there is a narrow and steep trail to the end point, it’s a trip! You don’t have to go to the very end to get incredible views, but if you’re not afraid of shear cliff drops you should make the trek down. Including time at the bottom, snack and catch my breath moments on the hike back up, this took me 3.5 hours (relatively good shape, slow uphill hiker).

Beautiful hike. Steep but manageable. I wouldn't rate this as a hard peak but take your time. Mostly shaded so it went from chilly to warm as you got into the sun. Did this last Sunday and it was a nice 70 outside. Gorgeous views of the valley and take your time at the top to enjoy. Your hard work will pay off!

Super easy walk in a beautiful rain forest with views of Mt Waialeale almost the entire trail. We wanted something easy in between awa'awapuhi and alakai swamp hikes. There is a cute little waterfall at the end. The hardest part of the trail is getting over a huge eucalyptus tree that blocks the trail. Other than that, this is an easy hike for the whole family. Turn right at the picnic table to continue on to the little waterfall. The trail connects with the Moalepe trail just past the waterfall. We continued a bit further on that trail but did not see anything too different or special, so we turned around. This trail is perfect if you like forest hikes, shade, and amazing views of the wettest place on earth.

This hike is worth it for the views that you won't see anywhere else in the world! I would say it is heavily trafficked--we left around 7:30-8:00 with 3-4 other couples getting started, and saw several groups coming in on our way out. The trail winds mostly downhill through a beautiful shaded forest with a few peeks of the ocean here and there, a blessing for those of us with, ahem, less melanin than others. It's not a hard trail but it is helpful to have walking sticks or poles for muddy spots. At the end of the trail you can go left over the terrifying ridge or veer right onto the small trail in the grass. I recommend doing both to see slightly different views, though this depends on your comfort level obviously. Ask one of the gazillion other people there to take your pic with those incredible cliffs in the background! The hike back up is the steepest the first half mile or so from the vista, then it's more of a steady, gentle climb. Took us an hour and a half--we're in great shape but used to hiking in the Pacific NW, which is much cooler. Try to leave as early as you can if you're heat sensitive like I am. You'll be thankful you did.

Loved this hike. The last mile marker reads 3.25 miles. Push to make your way to the end point quick, because your way back is going to be a grind uphill. The final views along the napali coast are fantastic, similar yet different to Kalepa Ridge trail (do Kalepa asap if you have not done it). Took us from 2:20 to around 5:45, and we did hang out at the final viewpoint for about 30-45 minutes. Allocate 3-5 hours depending on your pace/need to take breaks on the hike back to your car.

Moderately steep! A nice upper glute burner through a cool ponderosa pine forest with long traverses. A very nice trail run/hike. There's a stream with a gradual water fall on the shared trail with Taylor's Canyon. After crossing the second bridge the trail continues to the right. It's a bit steep at first but the grade becomes less severe the rest of the way up. There is butte with a view a third of the way up. At the rocky top peak or butte is exposed with great views of the valley below and Mount Ogden behind. The descent had a few rocky turns, but it wasn't bad. Just watch your step.

Amazing views. Definitely worth going past the initial look out point if you aren’t afraid of heights.

We started the hike in a misty cloud but it quickly cleared as we descended. The trail was extremely muddy and we slipped a few times. The view at the end was definitely worth the sweat and mud.

#1 AMAZING HIKE!!! My husband and I have hiked about 15 trails throughout Kauai, and this is one of the best! The hike was easy getting to the end which is spectacular views of the Waimea Canyon and the Napali Coast. Breathtaking is just the beginning of this view! The trip back - yikes! It’s all uphill and tough. My suggestion - start before 8:00 am. Relax and enjoy the view once you get there and save your water and energy for the hike back to your car. This is over a 6 mile hike and I would rate it a “moderate plus”.... because of the hike back. If you don’t do anything else....DO THIS HIKE!

This trail takes you through beautiful pine forest. The view from the top is also nice.

Beautiful 6ish mile out and back - took us 2 hours 20 minutes.
Prepare to work on the way out it is mostly uphill.
The views at the lookout are quite impressive.

always a great time in this beautiful little spot of serenity and fun. little bit of every thing; hiking, rock climbing, swimming, rope swinging into the lake, Cliff diving, camping.

The views at the end are impressive, really worth it. Try to go early as there’s less people, and save energies for the way back.

Easy trail, fantastic views, definitely worth the walk! If you like heights, go out further on the cliffs! If you are climbing on all 4 you don’t have to be worried.

Good luck!

Amazing!!! Slippery and wet hiking down, but the last 50 yards are so worth it. The views open up and you see the ocean and the ridge line. If you’re afraid of heights, the walk down to the view platform area is a bit tenuous and walking further is not recommended. Strenuous hike back up so be prepared with water and some energy before starting.

Went in the worst condition, was pouring rain the entire time and the river was very rapid. But... I didn’t want to give up, I met a group of 4 that said there is only dead ends and I was confused, somehow we all must missed the trail and I went on my on way. I totally missed out on this waterfall and went much deeper in the forest where I found another waterfall, huge one! Can’t find that hike here on the app so I guess it’s not meant to hike, anyhow it was the craziest hike I done in my life and there was sometimes I felt giving up, my girlfriend told me she was only 20 minutes away calling the rescue team ha!...

Anyhow, don’t try this hike when it’s very bad weather condition you might find the way I did and that one is not meant for hiking, the river took me twice and that was the scariest I ever experienced.

If anyone know the name of the waterfall I went to, please let me know! I can’t seem to find it on google or here.
