My family and I hiked this trail on July 27th 2018....we started at 1:00pm and got back by 4:30pm. Spent a while taking pictures of the breathtaking views and my husband and son event went for a swim. If you like hiking this trail is definately a must!

Great trail to take with our 7 and 4 year old.

Hiked 8/13.

Awesome hike and such a beautiful view. I definitely recommend swimming.

I got engaged by the lake when we got to the top. I’m pretty sure Andrew (from the comment below) took pictures of our proposal. The pictures are absolutely amazing! Thank you again, Andrew!

Took this hike with my very athletic son. He never broke a sweat, however I certainly did! Gorgeous views and quite a workout for me.

Today was a beautiful day for this hike/trail run. There was many great views of the jagged peaks of the sawtooth mountains. The turquoise color on the edge of both sawtooth lake and alpine lake were amazing. I didn't notice many mosquitoes and the air was clear. It took me about 1 hr 45 minutes to go up and about 1 hr 20 minutes to come down (some trail running involved). I spent about an hour at the lake. Overall this is a very scenic hike and there are still some wildflowers in bloom.

We were there the first week of August 2018. Great hike! We were there with our 2 daughters who are 9 and 5. Grandma and Grandpa (68 y/o) came along as well. It is a great hike that they were all able to enjoy. We hiked this area last year. We loved it so much we did it again this year! Amazing part of the country!

Great hike with wonderful views of the lake at the end! Scenery changes often with forest at the beginning, followed by meadows that transition into alpine vegetation and finally the overlook of the beautiful lake at the end. We found camping spots on the ridge just before getting to the National Park, but you could also camp about a 1/4 mile before the ridge and find many spots. Very difficult to actually get down to the lake. Road takes a while on the drive in/out so plan accordingly.

One of the best trails I have ever been on. Get to the park early and park at Logan Pass. Grab the shuttle back up. The last 4 miles are in full sun with no shade. Stop at the Granite Chalet if you need water or Gatorade, bring cash.

We did this trail today. We loved it. Parked at String Lake parking lot and hiked to the trailhead. The Ferry may be a better option. Anyway we loved this hike. The last 2.7 miles past Cascade Canyon Fork is amazing with beautiful flowers everywhere! We saw a moose, 3 otters, and a very calm young bear. Getting to the lake is worth it. Beautiful!

We hiked this trail August 16th. We enjoyed it but we would rate it as Easy. We had to add side trails up Death Canyon to get our heart rate up.

An excellent hike although the first part is through the trees so really nothing to see but forest. Once you get up to Mirror Lake the views get better. Still a bit icy and slippery in the upper sections. Staff at the tea house were busy getting the place ready for opening in June, but even though they were not officially open they were selling tea and other goodies out of the back door. The tea was perfect after the hike up. Excellent views of the lake and mountains.

so beautiful at the top. highly highly recommend. get there as early as possible for parking.

I have previously hiked other trails up LeConte and was happy to see a change of scenery on this trail. The different rock features were interesting and the Bluff was neat. I started out early so I was able to easily find parking and avoided the crowds.

Nice little trail. wildflowers are out. The jumping rock is super fun! The water was extremely clear.

Beautiful!

This hike is beautiful! The last little bit up to the glacier is a little steep. There were also a few places with some drop offs, but the trail is plenty wide. The only drawback is how crowded this trail is.

I’ve hiked Old Rag many times. Today I saw 5 bears. Two on the actual path. I was nervous to walk by, so just waited until he moved.

Beautiful hike up to a mountain lake and you can make it longer by hiking along glacier which opens up to multiple other trails. Very rocky and steep in areas which would make me want to say this is an easy to moderate hike but great for out of town guests to get beautiful views without being too rigorous.

We did this one today and it was absolutely gorgeous. The entire trail had so many different views and the lake itself was mesmerizing. We started at 6:30a (on a Friday) and there weren’t too many people. We thought the trail was confusing at a couple junctions as there aren’t any signs. There were a couple river crossings.

Hiked only to the switchbacks. Great views most of the way. Does have quite a bit of elevation gain and loss. Did it on a day it was hot and sunny. I would recommend doing this on a day it's overcast because there is very little coverage during the hike.

Absolutely beautiful! The walk was wonderful and doing it counterclockwise meant we saved the best canyons views for last.

Once you hit summit, this is a real challenge. I’d rate it from difficult to very difficult. It’s more like bouldering than hiking.

absolutely gorgeous. quite heavily trafficed with tourists. if you're a fast hiker, I'd aim for later in the day, the crowds disperse a bit by then. perfect light around 4:30pm at upper lake (summer)

Challenging trail but, the views are amazing.

Our group ranged in age from 4 to 69, avid hikers to couch potatoes and everyone LOVED it!!! We all would do it again!

An amazing view of what Boulder Colorado has to offer. A must see hike!

My friends and I did this hike last Sunday (8/12) and were somewhat disappointed with the closures on the trail. Also, the entirety of this hike runs alongside North Rim Drive, which really takes away from the majesty of hiking in the wilderness.

We started this trek around 3 pm and arrived back at our car around 5 pm. Instead of starting at the Upper Falls, like the trail map suggests, we actually began at the Brink of the Lower Falls Trail. This ended up being the highlight of our day, as the views looking back into The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone were absolutely breathtaking!

After making the trek back up to the road, we continued onward to Lookout Point and Grand View. We would have liked to reach Inspiration Point but were met with a closure sign upon arriving at the trailhead, which really put a damper on the day.

We did end up driving along the South Rim Drive to Artist Point, which was a pleasant consolation, even though Inspiration Point provided a higher vantage point and an entire view of the canyon, which we missed out on.

If you’re looking to escape the masses on the road, this is not the trail for you.
