Great hike with great views. A little tough if your out of shape. Loose sand and gravel in spots. Take a water for the walk up and a Gatorade for the walk down.

easy in. moderate out.

great trail for a ATV or side by side, although the trail is big enough for a full size truck or SUV.

I had such an amazing afternoon at Pine Flats Hot Springs. I first walk the upper trail and found a perfect little pool. The view of the river was stunning and I relaxed in the warm water for a time. Then I ventured down the trail and walked through the river, holding against the rocks. The river current was strong in some areas and this was a little tricky and COLD! Once around the rock wall, I passed through a small portion of river again and on the other side found three lovely pools. The top pool had a small warm waterfall and was lovely. On my way back I climbed up some rocks (I still can't believe that I did that, a bit dangerous and higher than I thought. I shouldn't have looked behind me.) instead of walking through the river. On the way down from the rocks there was another pool! Amazing! A fun adventure!

This was a beautiful loop, even in the middle of the summer. The creeks were dried up but still plenty to see. He cautious of the multitudes of bikes on the trail. But those we encountered were very friendly. There are a bunch of forks in the trail that give a lot of options, Bob's Trail was our favorite part of the loop, I recommend leaving this trail for the end of the hike for the surprise of beauty!

Nice trail with beautiful views, but way too many bikers on it for comfort. It seemed like every five minutes we had to move to the side to let someone pass.

Great place to go for a beautiful hike through meadows of wild flowers. I uploaded photos but there did not attach to my review.

I kind of like the place but man did I get bit by some vicious flies! It was hard to know though because I didn't really feel anything at the time. But over the next several days they got worse and even went through that oozing phase out of the middle of the bite. Damn! Pretty nice soak though once you find or adjust the water.

I took my parents to these hot springs in July and had an awesome time. Very short easy hike to get to the springs which was great for the older folks. The springs are next to the river which is great for mixing the cold and hot water to get your desired temperature.

We loved this hike, it was good for all ages! The hike itself was short but spectacular and the lake was amazing. Next time we will pack in more supplies to hang out by the lake longer.

Steep run and a well kept trail. The view in fantastic.

Very nice work out. No shade and lots and lots of bugs. Stink bugs and those big crickets. It was eerie in some areas where the trail narrowed and you had to duck to avoid the over grown branches that blocked your path. You were surrounded by the sounds of all these bugs all around you. And you had to dodge the bugs that jumped out at you. This is why the low score. Not a fan of bugs but this was a bit much. Less dogie droppings. then some ;)

Busy trail with lots of dogs on leashes. It was steep so might be a workout. Beautiful view from the top made it worthwhile. Consider a stop at the old Idaho State Pen while there. It’s at the bottom of the trailhead and very interesting.

Just Do It! You will not be sorry..well worth the time..beautiful drive to trailhead...short 25-30min hike to the lake...tough hour hike back up but just take your time and enjoy the scenery. Bring some repellent mosquitos are bad. Felt bad walking thru folks campsites along the trail...campers weren't too worried about it! Great "first time" hike for you or the fam!

Easily marked trailhead with facilities. You hike down first to the lake, and back up. It was somewhat busy the Sunday afternoon we went, but still scenic, and you had ample space to yourself.

Hike back up is decently steep, but very short and there is lots of trees for shade.

Very nice views, both of the alpine meadows and also the lake. Water was cold ans very refreshing to dip your feet into.

My dog absolutely loved walking the trail and so did I!!

great trail for beginners.

OK hike. Lots of people, decent view from the top and facilities available at trailhead. Cigarette butts, on trail and at peak, and graffiti detract from the experience. If you're more of a solitude seeker there are other trails nearby that may suit your tastes better but this is worth the trip if you have never done it.

Great little hike

Quick hike, not a lot of traffic, great views of the Boise forest and distant mountains!

My favorite hike!!! Down hill with some loose rock until you get to the lake. It is only a mile to the lake. I hike all the way around the lake and really love the views from everywhere in this hike!! Some beautiful spots to tie up a hammock and enjoy some time. The parking area is small. There is also a "bathroom"(nice outhouse) at the trailhead. I would take some bug spray with you though.

Amazing hike, really enjoyable.

Quick hike to the springs. A little buggy, but worth it for a dip.

The views are amazing. The hike is rated correctly and very low foot traffic. There are a lot of mountain bikers on the trail. Watch your footing, there are a lot of roots.

Amazing easy trail. Only con is the starving mosquitoes, so be prepared. Went down to the lake and water was pretty refreshing as we jumped from the rocks. I highly recommend.

Nice hot springs. We hiked with our 6 kids ranging from 1-12 years old. Hot springs are 0.6 miles from parking lot according to my GPS.
Take the trail down to the river. When you get right next to the river look to the steep slope to your right. You will see some hot spring pools up high (we missed these until we were headed back to the car). These pools are pretty hot.
If you wade through the river around the bend you will find more pools that are prefect temperature and where you will find the waterfall.
I was a little disappointed to see tarps used to create the pools. I understand why they are used but they take away from the visual of the spot.
Overall all great little hike, beautiful scenery and nice hot springs. We’ll be back!

Great trail for walking the dog!
