Good hike, rather busy with other people and bikers, but well worth the effort.

Wonderful hike in Canmore! The lakes were blocked off for reclamation so we weren’t able to find the petroglyphs. We went earlier in the morning so it wasn’t crowded at all. Adorable benches, bridges, waterfalls and beautiful views.

Great hike! We planned to do the difficult hike up and the easy back but ended up doing the hard hike both ways due to a bear on the easy path. The hard hike has some very steep sections but the waterfalls and views are well worth it!

I would recommend if you are planning on doing this hike to do it later in the summer or early fall before the snow. I did it in July and the snow was so heavy we could not find a trail. Unfortunately it also was very cold and with it being quite open for the majority of the hike wasn’t as enjoyable as it should have been. I will definitely try this hike again but next time with poles, late in the summer, extra layers and water proof shoes!

Great scenic trail but very easy to get lost shortly after the waterfall with so many paths. We were lost for at least an hour and ran into another group that were also lost but we headed for the water and eventually made our way back to a trail.

Amazing hike, very heavily trafficked, lots of people. Little disappointed that the lake section was closed off. Went up by the Pipeline to hang for a snack. Took easy route up, hard down. Found the hard way down was easier than going up. Would do this one again.

Steep hike through out. went to lake and went back which took 4.5 hours at a steady pace. patches of gravel and boulder crossings. lake scene is worth it.

A great introduction to hiking for my 7 year old. Challenging enough with a beautiful waterfall reward.

Did this one yesterday! Good for all levels. Awesome trail with awesome view. A bit crowded.

this was a great first day hike in Banff. did this last Saturday before all the smoke came in and saw a grizzly bear and her two Cubs! we took the trail over to lake Agnes on our way back which was a lot less crowded.

We joined up with this hike after starting at lake Agnes/big beehive. The trail offers some really beautiful views and the teahouse is fun, but the crowds take something away from the experience. I found myself getting a bit frustrated by lines of super slow hikers, especially on the way down. Definitely worth doing the hike - just be prepared to be patient if you're used to a quicker pace and a quiet trail

Not a very rewarding hike to say the least. The amount of incline and distance you have to travel was not worth the views of either lakes.

Awesome hike to do with the family. We took a 6 year old & two 3 year olds on the difficult trail and they loved it. Lakes at the end are all closed off though for reclamation, so not much to do or see once you get to the top.

The view up top is amazing!

Vraiment une belle petite randonné avec une petite fille de 7ans !!

great hike. Did this may long weekend, so many places had avalanches and it was hard to pass. the last avalanche shoot we couldn't pass it was really steep and we had no equipment to get safely across as it was step, slippery, and scary!

Lake Louise is iconic for a reason and you'll be sharing the path with plenty of people no matter what. Expect this, and you'll enjoy your day all the more. I enjoy this hike in the the shoulder seasons when paths are less busy. Whenever someone visits from out of town, this is usually one of my go-to hikes.

Bring cash so you can stop and enjoy a tea at the tea house at the end.

As with all hikes from the Lake. Arrive early if you want a parking spot.

on Galatea Creek To Lillian Lake

A steady incline going up. Overall amazing views.

absolutely amazing! despite it being +35 today we were able to enjoy the trail and the sights. Very well marked and heavily trafficked trail so you'll be sure to see a good chunk of people which can be great motivation. I would say that the trail from the parking lot to Lillian lake is moderate and the section from Lillian lake to Galatea lake is hard due to the large amount of loose rock. But it's worth is as the serenity of Galatea lake is amazing. It took us a total of 4 hours (2h each way) plus an hour break at the lake. would definitely do this one again!

excellent hike! the initial downhill descent was deceiving, but it gradually climbed from there. Great hike through the trees, the path was nice and wide. I did not donthe final climb to thr viewpoint, only to the too of the first. I found it to be difficult but once at the top, the views were great! did this hike round trip (including stopping for lunch at the top) in 5 hours. My fitbit calculated this hike to be 15km (without going thr extra distance to the viewpoint)

This was a good hike. Well marked trail, beautiful views of the mountains at the top. When you get to the last little trail don’t stop! It looks deceiving but go for it! It’s worth it. It wasn’t too hard but you will get tried on your hike back up to the parking lot.

I think this trail is great or meh depends on what you seek for. I love seeing flowers and nice views so it was not for me. There was no great scenic point, there was no “we arrived!!” achieved feeling. Trail is mostly shaded by trees and very nice clean paths, good signs and generally very pretty place but if you are looking for breathtaking moment like me, you can pass this trail. It is still great for hiking with dogs, trail run or mountain biking.

Pretty steady climbing the entire way. Underwhelmed by Lillian lake personally, the extra climb (it’s hard) to Galatea Lake makes it all worth it.

Would be 5 stars if not for:
* Horses allowed on trail (had to make way)
* Horse manure all over trail (had to dodge)
* significant haze from BC wildfires

A couple recommendations:
* arrive before 715 (weekday) to get parking on site
* start hiking early to avoid crowds and horse tours on the way up (you'll inevitably be inconvenienced on the way down)

What to expect:
* balanced mix of flat path, gentle incline, and moderate incline
* excellent lake Louise views (crowd free views too if starting early)
* excellent views of glaciers
* quick and fun detours to the streams and also to stand in the lake

Would gladly do again, especially when the fires clear.

I can’t give this hike any less than 5 stars because of the views. But, be SURE TO GET THERE EARLY if you are in Banff during tourist season. I was personally shocked at the amount of people. Start at daylight and you won’t be disappointed.

great little hike. Takes less then an hour. We found that the signage wasn't greatest for the trail. It starts at the back lot on the north side.
The falls are beautiful at the end and a quick dunk in the pool is refreshing. You can always go through the meadow to make this an even easier hike

Loved this hike! Get on the trail and power it up! Definitely some character building moments but those make for the best summits! Mountains 360. Highly recommend this hike for those considering a solo hike

Very easy and quick trail, and very busy! Good idea to go early to get a decent parking spot. The lakes are worth seeing if you’re already in Canmore. We took the “hard” way up and the “easy” way down. I would recommend this so you can see the waterfall.

Nice hike with great views. The harder trail is much more scenic. It is more technical but worth it.

Just did this over the long weekend. The trail is in great shape, all the way. We stayed over night at Ribbon Falls, there was lots of firewood and company to visit with. Day hiked up to the lake the next day, the chains were a fun challenge. We brought our 1 year old up with us and he loved every minute of it!
