Great hike for kids and dogs. Nice and shaded most of the way. The cave and the trickle falls are a nice little sit down spot for a water break.

Small trickle of water, nice greenery, and overall good little hike.

Nice quiet trail with butterflys and hummingbirds . Falls are trickling today.

Quick and easy. You can walk to the top of the “falls” and get a pretty view as well.

Good trail for mountain biking for a beginner. The trail is well-marked. Nice view of Beaver Lake with nice benches to sit.

trail running

I’ve run this trail several times and would recommend it to anyone. The map above is misleading as it cuts off about have of the actual Otter Creek Trail. The whole loop comes out to around 8 miles. The terrain is mostly single-track, forested with occasional rocky areas. Easy enough to log some good mileage but hard enough to be interesting. I can usually run the entire loop in 80-90 minutes. Some turnoffs are easy to miss so it’s best to get a map at the entrance until you become more familiar with the park.

The area will need a lot of rain to get that waterfall going again. The creek above the cave is barely trickling. My app measured .6 miles to the cave o/w.

We did the trail at 7am in July, and it was very quiet and shady. Although the terrain is a gentle climb, there is a lot of crushed rock, which would be challenging for those with balance problems. Worth it to proceed past the falls, but there is a short, steep incline that would be difficult for children.

Gorgeous views. We actually hiked at Hemlock on a rainy day, and it was a lot of fun.

I enjoyed this trail as it had some pretty scenery and two spots where you could walk down to the lake. It was definitely over 6 miles by the time we were done but like I said there were side trails to the lake that we walked down. We crossed a couple of fields during the hike and the last one wasn't marked very well so it was a little confusing but it brought us back to an access road used by DNR. Overall nice trail!

Beautiful views along the way. Waterfall was a lighter flow than what I was expecting. But still very peaceful, not a crowded trail.

Awesome trail with lots to see and do. Has a beautiful waterfall and caves to explore. We did the otc trail. Will definitely be coming back. They also have bald eagles.

Nice trail but the bridge is still closed. There is no other detour across the creek. Reversed the loop to get back to the trailhead. No big deal as the trail is easy, pleasant.

Nice walking trail.it was longer because the Bridge is closed. Shady which was nice. Creek was pretty dry I’m sure when it’s flowing it’s a lovely way to spend some time. Not strenuous for sure.

wouldn't call it a waterfall...

beautiful place to get away from it all.

Trail is closed due to high fire hazard.

The hike itself is pretty and the trail connects with the crest trail which will lead you faulty trail. If you’re expecting to see a waterfall you will be disappointed... However, the views and small cave were awesome!

Been going here for years and it's still one of my favorite places to go in the Southern Indiana Area! Very nice and peaceful place to go and get away from people for a day or two!

Great hike loved listening to the birds and the thunder and I got back to my car just in time

Trail is well-maintained. Went with my whole family: mom, sisters, young nephews. Just the right length for a small family outing.

Loved it when I went with my fiancé. Fairly shaded and the little cave feature is a bonus.

Awesome trail!! Loved the caves and falls

Beautiful & just the right length to take my mom on her first hike. Most beautiful after a rainfall so one can see the waterfall in action.

My husband and I stopped at a campsite in Hoosier on the way back from Shawnee and the camp host told us we HAD to hike this while we were in the area. She was right! This was an amazing hike and although the trail is on the shorter side, you can spend hours here checking out the caves, waterfalls, streams and rock formations. Unfortunately the falls were kind of a trickle when we were there, but that made the streams fairly dry which isolated little pools full of life, there were fish, crayfish, salamanders. Absolutely take the little optional loop halfway through which takes you to an awesome cave.
