Probably our favorite trail to hike with our dog in the Memphis area. Lots of elevation changes make this one more challenging than most in the Shelby county area

Loved this trail! I would like to point out that the trail is very close to cliff edges so I wouldn’t recommend bringing children.

Really pretty in some areas. Thickly wooded. If you're by yourself it's an easy hike. However, it's DANGEROUS if you have two big dogs with you because the a large portion of the path is narrow (my dogs were shoulder to shoulder) and on the edge of a cliff.

fantastic in the fall. easy trail. bring a hammock. lots of good spots to enjoy the views. definitely going back with a crashpad.

Did a short loop off of the South Forest Road. The area offers a lot of opportunities for hikes both long and short. I recommend checking out the park map for hikes.

The trail was great with a beautiful waterfall!!

First hike on this trail and it was pretty great! Started out on the more challenging half (to the left). Good elevation change. There is a portion of the trail shortly after the halfway mark, where a bridge was washed out. Not a major deal, but did have to find a better spot to cross and jump across the stream

Loved the hike, the solidarity with nature, and was blessed by a waterfall!

Beautiful waterfall..when you finally get to it. Once we crossed the creek we drove the 5.8 miles as instructed and saw no turn off. Finally turned around and found the 1113 maker turned halfway over and covered by brush. Instructions say 5.8 miles, was more like 4 from bridge. The trail head was clearly marked with the 1140 that a previous hiker mentioned. Trail down was nice and wide, pretty clear. The falls were beautiful and worth the drive.

I hiked the trail today . Lots of boulders, rock formations and outcroppings. The last third of the trail goes along the creek. Really good surprise for the area .

Great hike with wonderful views. Lots of little trails to go on and get great pictures. Not a strenuous hike. Watch your step once out on the rocks. There are cracks and holes one could fall in. Wouldn’t recommend bringing the kids. I would recommend doing King’s Bluff while there.

Love this trail. Difficult in some areas due to trees down. Great swinging bridge. The first part of the trail is steep but it levels out.

I think that this was a good trail around the lake. I thought the old dam was cool looking!

I would rate this trail as moderately easy. Lovely scenery and the trail by the river is gorgeous with spots to relax and take a break from hiking . Very fun place to go and explore . Love taking my pup. She has the best time.

Good elevation gain and losses. Trail has had some work done and new benches are along two most strenuous sections. Trail can be 1, 3 or 4 miles depending on where you turn. Signs have been upgraded recently. Expect downed trees, out bridge and erosion. This trail gets heavy use on weekends.

Hiked around 8 miles here last month. Trails were well maintained and fun to hike. Prepare for insects, pulled several ticks off my dog and had some chigger bites myself, seems I should have prepared a little better. Will definitely be returning, great little park.

Took a trip here this weekend and loved it. The lady working at the museum was so friendly and helpful. Be sure to get a trail map, the number markers on the trails correspond to information boxes on the map. The trails and grounds were well maintained. Learned a lot, great historic trails. Only encountered a couple other hikers, so nice and quiet too. My pup also approves!

First trail and I loved it! Will go back soon!

Very well-marked, well-maintained trail. Interesting battle history markers along the way.

Great little hike downhill ... to get there. The reward is well worth the trek back up the hill.

Nice easy hike. Good trail to start your hiking season on.

Beautiful forest, well-marked trail. Very peaceful, and the hills were enough to get my blood pumping.

Moderately easy trail. Some spots the trail is overgrown and gets narrow. Would recommend bug spray to keep the ticks off in the overgrown areas. We jumped on the Cabin Trail from the gift shop back to the trailhead.

Had a great hike this morning. It's slightly longer than advertised. It was a hot in the summer time, leave early and be done by 10:00am during the summer. Spiders and webs along trail during the summer. What a great easy day trip from Hot Springs! Make sure to stop by the Visitor's Center at the National Forest Center along Hwy 7.

Very beautiful trail with some nice rock formations and next to the water.

Great trail want to do it again in fall

Beautiful trail. Well worth the effort. Some markings can be confusing and the trail is mixed in difficulty. The half by the river is easy, while the parts by the outcroppings are much more rigorous with elevation changes and tree roots. Overall lovely hike though.

Neat rock formations and fun to check out the base of the bluffs. Better views on other bluff hikes. A lot of the hike is in the woods.

I love running these trails. The review shows 4.0 Miles, but there’s actually 15+ Miles. There are well-placed signs that guide you through the trails.

The park is lovely and well maintained. I enjoyed the shade of the trail on a very hot day. My dog joined me and I was very glad to see how agile he actually is b/c the trail had some rocky areas that some smaller dogs might struggle with. I chose to go right after crossing over the bridge which was a mistake as somehow I got turned around and ended up missing a portion of the trail. Something to do with a “trail run’’? access. Have learned my lesson to always follow the straight path!! Path was diverse with challenges along the way to keep me energized- would love to go back and tackle it again.
