So, the description is misleading. This hike isn’t actually long at all. You can drive your car up most of the way to a parking area (would suggest a SUV, our corolla had a hard time). With that said, the short hike to the falls was beautiful, being high in the mountains meant it wasn’t too hot, and the falls itself was a little crowded. Overall worth a stop when exploring the area!

Beautiful terrain that vacillated between forested shade and granite slabs to bouldering cascades at the top.

Beautiful easy trail. If you have kids, it’s best to drive up the dirt road and start where the parking lot is. Dirt road is a little rough if you don’t have a SUV or truck. But beautiful waterfall at the end. My kids enjoyed it even my 4 year old.

Best hike by far perfect not too long! Lots of beautiful views! Love it!

I think it some type of steps and / or handrails could be constructed to facilitate a safer decent to the waterfalls pools. Other than that, it is an easy surface to negotiate on the trail and a scenic hike also!

Quiet during weekdays. Lower pool is easily accessible from the trail. Some scramble to the top of the falls.

Short and simple, with a very rewarding waterfall

Good family hike with a nice view at the end.

There was no sign on the fork & we didn't think of getting a map before we started so we took the trail on the left & apparently it was the more difficult one. About 3.5 miles in we saw a black bear near the trail ahead of us so we ended up having to walk back in fear & in silence without even seeing the waterfall. I've never walked so fast in my life. It was a great workout, but the trail could use some maintance.

This trail wasn't worth the effort. It's long, hot and honestly not that pretty (like some of the women from my past). The trail is not well maintained, lots of plant life growing into the walking path you can't avoid walking through, a fallen tree you have to climb over. If you are with a lady in booty shorts, she won’t like it and will keep telling you how much she dislikes it, trust me I know. There's one good look out point where you can see the waterfall but you're not very close to it. Other than that spot you can't ever really see it. When you get to the top of the waterfall the angle is bad and you can't actually see the bottom or the water go off the cliff. I will say the water at the top is nice, clear and refreshing to get in. If you like pain with no payoff, this is for you, you masochist.

Great trail!

Dirt road entry is pretty rough but the walk is very nice.

This hike was fun and had great views of a waterfall and some cool rock formations, but the trail was poorly marked. We had our two-year-old in a pack with us, and some areas were a bit precarious for carrying a kid.

Much of the trail is exposed so wear a hat and bring sunscreen. Lots of loose rocks, so wear good footwear.

Overall, this hike is totally worth checking out, but with all of the cool trails in northern CA, I’m not sure I’ll do this one again.

We thoroughly enjoyed this hike. Easy to moderate at times with absolutely stunning views. Lots of water to cool off in along the way. Would definitely recommend you do this hike!

very pretty in spring..Good hike...

Great beginners hike. It’s an out and back so it’s easy to follow. Parking lot can get a little full during peak times but people aren’t hanging out there all day long so the cars filter in and out frequently. Overall, great little hike for families and groups with small kids.

Very beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail!

best swimming spot around ❤

Definitely drive up the dirt road all the way to the Sierra National Forrest sign. This way you won’t wear yourselves out before you even get on the actual trail. We made it too difficult for ourselves. Lol It’s a beautiful hike with a gorgeous waterfall at the end. Many families are on this trail. We took our Weimaraner. She loved it. This is an easy hike with a slight uphill climb. Don’t forget to bring your water jugs! We will be going again in the early morning for a different experience as we got there around noonish.

Amazing

The top falls are worth the hike. Smoke every where right now because of the Ferguson Fire. south part of the park a little bit better.

Absolutely breathtaking views. Easy to moderate at times, but thoroughly enjoyed the hike. Would recommend you don't pass this one up!

Super easy hike. It’s a 10-15 min hike if you drive til the parking lot.

Easy trail with a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole at the bottom. Only con is that there is a lot of litter!

The trail says its private property and there's signs everywhere but bumped into a few locals and they said a lot of people do the hike. Bring lots of water. There will be a lot of metal grates to walk on.

This must have been an excellent trail before the fire, but the blaze has changed this area drastically. It destroyed the trees and vegetation (though a surprising amount of greenery has re-emerged) which provided shade and something to look at and appreciate while pushing uphill. However, now it’s just a boring grind under a punishing sun. I can tell this trail once had a lot going for it. Hopefully it will again one day soon.

Excellent hike easy some of the path is paved. The park was beyond very busy and they had a line of cars out on 89 just to get in. We took Clark Creek road from 89 and found a dirt parking lot that was less than full and provided easy access to the trail. You can walk in about 1000 feet and the trail splits go either direction to access the park.
