This one quickly jumped to the top of our favorites list. We loved that within a few minutes of being out of the car we were already exploring caves. Really great trail!

It's pretty easy to do. The views are pretty crazy and you can do some exploring on some of the features. be careful though, not all of the rocks are perfectly set.

great trail and fun place to explore.

Nice forrest surrounding. Very flat, lots of trail runners. Large parking area and restrooms. Caves currently closed for nesting bats. Great fall foliage views from overlook.

Great place to take a dog for a walk! Make sure to pick up after them. Absolutely lovely views of the lake. Wish there were more trash receptacles for pet waste.

One of my favorites. Lots of good elevation changes.

Intense trail! Lots of hills and can be a bit muddy. Definently a workout. I started at the top of kendall hills and made my way down to the loop which is 3.15 miles. Tends to line the road a bit but the road isn't very busy. Recommend if you want a workout. Took me and my dog about an hour walking at a moderate pace. There is also a short cut to make it a bit shorter.

This one always kicks my butt! Several hills and steps in this one, so if you’re looking for a cardio intensive hike, this is for you. Heavily used by trail runners as well.

Incredible hike. One of my favorite. Ice Box Cave was closed due to an initiative aiming to preserve the bats that inhabit the area. Saw many families and couples. Easy hike with incredible views.

Great hike

Nice trail with woods, a few small waterfalls, and the deer lick ‘cave’. The directions take you to a wide shoulder where you can park. We parked at the Meadows Picnic area which is a more natural spot to start and finish.
Trail is well marked. Follow the red trail signs.
We went on a Sunday morning after an overnight rainstorm. It was muddy in some places. You have to keep you eyes on the trail as there was horse poop everywhere. There are 2 shallow stream crossings that you can navigate on rocks if needed. We maybe saw 10-12 other people, mostly runners. Some areas with mosquitoes, but nothing bad and we did not use bug spray.
The map shown on All Trails follows the bridle trail on the east side of the loop, which confused me for a minute until I zoomed in more on the map. Taking the marked deer lick trail the whole way clocked in at ~4 miles.
Overall my family enjoyed it.

This trail is beautiful year round. The trees are spectacular and varied. There’s lots of little animals. It feels mostly uphill so it is a great workout. There’s 2 little water areas to add beauty and it’s trafficked enough you don’t feel isolated but never crowded. My favorite trail to date.

Directions on the app take you to the Kendall Lake parking lot. It’s a 0.5 mile hike on the Kendall Lake loop to get to the Salt Run trail head. I showed us walking just shy of 5 miles total. You could park at the Pine Hollow lot and more easily access this trail.
Thankfully there were trail maps at the parking lot as the initial signs don’t tell you which way to go towards the Salt Run trail.
Overall, a nice hike through the woods. Nothing spectacular to see. Trail goes close to the road so there is traffic noise. Coolest thing we saw was a big beaver at Kendall Lake.

Great place for a walk any time of the year! Our dog loves the huges hill where most people sled for playing frisbee!
