Accidentally took the blue trail and 6 miles became 11. Still a great hike on a well marked trail.

Did this trail on 12/30/2018 and it was a really nice trail. Well marked, a bit muddy in spots but completely manageable. The uphill was gentle and the view at the top was beautiful. Perfect for a nice group outing on a beautiful day. I wouldn't call it "challenging" (barely moderate?) but it's got enough uphill that people with knee issues may have trouble.

Great trail, well maintained but may be muddy at the start. The parking lot is small so get there early & you’ll be awarded not only a parking spot but solitude on the rocks. We think this hike is probably best in winter as you get many more views than you would with leaves on the trees.

blue/white trail is moderately challenging. very well marked. beautiful views, even in winter.

Great hike! Highly recommend going about a mile past Annapolis Rock to Black Rock Cliff. Great views and not nearly as crowded. Go early ..... I finished my hike around 12pm and by that time the parking lot was packed and I noticed a good amount of people starting the trail. A bit muddy in some spots.

Awesome 5 miler. Moderate uphill hike on the way. Great for those getting back in to shape or even for light trail running. The 55 degree weather in January didn’t hurt! Will do this regularly. About an hour away from Montgomery County.

Love this trail. Its my bestie and I’s favorite spot. Lots of photo ops on this one. I highly recommend the ridge too, don’t stop & enjoy the views.

Great hike and nice views mountain tops.

I did this hike in mid April 2018, it was a good trail clearly marked a little rocky and muddy for spring. In the mornings you can expect to see maybe one dog walker but only on that part of the trail that intersects the mine trail. The remainder of the trail takes you pretty close to dolefield road, housing and at one point right on the boundary of someone’s home. Not a good trail if you’re looking for quiet solace and to commune by yourself with nature.

Great hike, but got crowded.

I love the uphill battle. Stop at Piney Knob shelter. Spring near by.

excellent views and scenic waterfalls and that was in the middle of winter.

Nice, steady hike with a great view. Well marked and maintained. I recommended following the trail up to do Black Rocks as well. It only adds about 2 miles to your total and also has some nice views.

Nice open trail. A steady incline at the beginning but pretty level afterwards. Beautiful view at the top.

Great hike. Went in December 2017. The view at the top is spectacular.

Did this hike 12/19/18. Excellent hike did the full loop. Had to cross to streams so just be careful doing so. It was a lot of up and downs but not horrible great work out. There were mange hunting signs up so use caution. Maybe where something bright. Awesome place pretty well marked used the app a few times just to be sure.

This trail has a really long incline. Once you reach the flat-ish section along the ridge, it is nice. When it's 25 to 30 degrees and midweek, you have the trail to yourself

Great trail in great area, final section at V-turn on Dolfield Trail the trail has turned into a creek bed ~ 3-5in of water. Otherwise, well-marked and fairly vacant even on a Saturday morning.

This is a beautiful Maryland trail to hike. We went on a chilly November day so it wasn’t too crowded. Well worth it, very pretty overlook. Took us about 2 hours 15 mins.

I've done this trail 3 times now and it is one of my absolute favorites. The accessibility and parking is wonderful, and it's far enough away from the cities to make for a nice and quiet experience once you are past the initial part that runs along the highway. The fall colors are wonderful and the rocks themselves are so fun to sit on and look out over. It's my go to trail for anyone who can handle hiking as most people seem to be able to tackle this trail. It definitely earns its moderate rating but you get a blessing for your knees as once you get to the top of the initial incline you are treated with a few miles of flat-ish trail. Go treat yourself to Black Rock as well, it's worth it and still on level trail so it's not that much harder to get to.

One of my favorite short hikes in Maryland. Typically do an evening hike to catch the sunset while having a little picnic. Usually popular in the fall. Good for hiking and trail running. Easy trail open to all levels.

Annapolis Rocks offers one of the best views in the area especially during the fall when the leaves are at their most colorful. The hike itself is not strenuous, the grade is mild from the start all the way to the rocks. There is no worry of getting lost on this trail either. Once at the rocks, you can get some amazing pictures of the landscape but do be careful if standing near the edge. If you're lucky you might see some rock climbers scaling the face of the rocks as well. Great hike for families and dogs! Especially dogs, you will see a lot of those. This trail does require dogs on leashes but do be warned that the odds of unleashed dogs coming up to you and befriending you is quite high.

Nice moderate quick hike with pleasant views and scenery. Not too heavily trafficked. Get there on the early side or the park itself gets crowded, though.

Took the Orange trail up to the summit. My sister and I found it kinda difficult but we only go hiking once a month or so. Great views once your up there. Took the white and blue trail down and did a couple miles. White and blue were not hard. All the trails are very well marked!

Awesome day trip hike. I’m an avid hiker struggling with some ankle instability and injuries. It was perfect to work on this on a 5 mike trek. Very muddy as we got an inch of rain yesterday. But that may have kept the crowded away. It was 59 degrees and sunny. We arrived at 11. No trouble parking and not crowded at all. Great experience.

Great views from Buzzard Rock!!

Beautiful fall morning for a hike. Snow-covered trail on the way out. Muddy soup on the way back. Normally it’s very crowded, but the weather and snow keep the crowds down.

Great walk. Enjoyed the bonsai garden. Free parking!

Beautiful overlook in November. Muddy in sections. Well marked

One of my all time favorite hikes!
