This is a fee area- costs $3 per vehicle for an okay hike.

A nice but exposed trail, so wear UV protection. Although, it is short you might bring water with you, especially in the summer months. Great views with Latter-day Saint historical significance. There's a memorial on top.

Great views, great hike

Had to turn around and drive to another trailhead because NO DOGS ALLOWED! But looked like a great trail otherwise.

hiked it with a bunch of teenagers. A great trail to take beginners and those who normally struggle with hiking

trail running

Once you get close to the first summit, there's snow but it has been tramped down and isn't really a problem. I was running and it wasn't very slippery. More positive still, the recent snow/rain has firmed up the trail a bit. (Downside to the West approach to Grandeur? You hear I-80/215 the entire time.)

Wish I'd brought gloves and spikes cause it was damn cold after the saddle and slippery on the way down. Beautiful hike though, will do again.

Great mid-range hike. Passing through Church Falls is beautiful, and the views of Millcreek Canyon from the top are amazing. Legs got a little tired towards the top, though.

Quick short trail, heavily trafficked.

Consistent climbing up, amazing views along the trail!!

It was an ok trail.
Not much to see.
we'll find a better hiking spot next time.
$3.00 to hike it.
The dogs enjoyed.

Nice trail. Very muddy right now with melted snow. A lot of downed branches across the path at the moment.

We hiked in the afternoon. There was quite a bit of the trail in the sun; not as shaded as I would have preferred.

My friend and I hiked this trail after work. It was muddy and I slipped twice, but that was my fault. It was cold and snowy but it’s a beautiful trail and a beautiful lookout.

Fun, uncrowned trail. Lots of sunshine- very exposed, but always breezy to windy. Pretty views. Lots of rock, so watch your footing and make sure you have the right shoes.

Great hike! Not for those wanting an easy walk. The scenery changes as the summer progresses. I have Verizon as my cell carrier and get service right before hitting the saddle of the basin. Love that because I can share pictures at that moment. I wear microspikes and take hiking sticks every time.

I did this hike on the morning of one of the first dustings of the year. The snow level was about 7500 feet. As many have stated, it is fairly steep but I didn’t find it that strenuous and it wasn’t technical. You accumulate almost 2000 feet of elevation gain in less than 2 miles. I reached the top in about a hour. There was limited visibility when I reached the summit and there wasn’t any cairns marking the summit so i wasn’t sure I reached the summit but the AllTrails app marked my spot at the summit. As far as summits go, this one is very accessible and achievable in under 2 hours. Great hike to do with your dog because it doesn’t require any scrambling.

1 hr up. 30 down push hard for a great leg day. great fall views

I love the view from top, totally worth the steep parts. Don’t forget your head lamp, or flash light if waiting for sunset.

I've hiked the east face trail of Grandeur several times and I love it. For me, it's the perfect combination of length + elevation gain that gives me a great workout but I'm not exhausted when it's over.

The parking is not great, however. There's only room for about 8 cars at the trailhead, then you have to park out on the main road which adds about a half mile to your hike.

This trail is rated 'hard' and probably deserves it. I went up it today, Monday Oct 1st. It was extremely windy just below the summit coming down and blew me down once. It rained hard icy rain for about 10 minutes. But all that passed and it was fine the rest of the way down.

Facing the mountain, I took the right-hand path up and same path down. This is the harder path and is a lot of elevation gain in a short climb. You'll definitely get a workout. The footing is also treacherous with loose gravel covering steep surfaces. Be careful, especially coming down.

Love this hike! And so close to downtown Salt Lake City! Very moderate on hills and a beautiful view. I’ve done it a few times and would do it again!

Accidentally chose a severely windy morning, nearly blew off the mountain several times on the way down. This was a brutal hike, started at 5:45, got to the top just before 8. The way back was rough for me as well, fell several times due to the winds and the descent. I think this hike deserves a mailbox!!

This was a really great hike with great views, but there are no bathrooms!! There's also a park just a little ways south of the trailhead, and there are no bathrooms there either.

pretty challenging, but accessible trail. Beautiful on the way up, even more so at the top. as far as wildlife, got to see a tarantula on the way down.

First of all, this is a walk not a hike. Second of all, if I could give a trail negative stars, this would be the one.

The road that leads to it has two lanes separated by a double yellow line legally indicating two way traffic and there is no signage near the trailhead indicating otherwise. But the road is used as a ONE WAY. It’s a total death trap for drivers, walkers, bikers...

Very well maintained trail. Lots of beautiful colors going into the fall. Plenty of water for dogs. I didn’t really notice any poop along the trail except people would leave it on the ground in a baggy to pick up on the way back. Nice gradual incline. Overall my dog loved it so that’s all that matters

Very steep but the view is definitely worth it! Took me about an hour and a half total.

Great views at the top of the hike. Loose rocks make the walk down a little dangerous.

Great steady incline. I don’t think I hiked it all bc I lost service. You go through some beautiful aspens, then up to a peak where you can see mountains all around. Excellent hike for the fall! Good trail for dogs too. Not crowded at all since it’s up towards the top of Millcreek.
