Fun hike, but it is over grown. There is a patch where youre going through overgrown branches for almost a quarter mile. There are some roots under the bratches so it get a little hard to see where you are walking. The pup had a great time though, of course. Not very busy for a Monday night. I think we saw maybe 3 other dogs.

great trail beautiful view good work out girlfriend was stung by a bee and they are everywhere

Beautiful! You can use the paved road that goes into the park. There are shaded areas, especially as it starts out. However there were a lot of mosquitoes, gathered around along the creek and anywhere there was standing water. Sometimes they were in swarms and relentless. The bikers could easily zoom through, but, as I was on foot, I ran through them! I did not have mosquito repellent on, so next time, I will be sure to use some! Otherwise very pretty area and views of the canyon.

Easy hike to the top at Ensign Peak! Beautiful views! A bit rocky but somewhat easy to navigate. Also a fun place to watch planes take off in the distance. Beautiful view of The Great Salt Lake.

Perfect morning or evening hike! I would highly recommend avoiding during the heat, as only the first 0.5 Miles are shaded.
Gorgeous views of the salt lake valley and Mount Olympus.

Amazing view at The Living Room! A mostly rocky, narrow trail. I was prepared to have a crowded trail, but I was alone except for a few people. Monday morning at 10:30am. I was able to sit in The Living Room alone for a half hour before anyone showed up. No snakes but lots of bumble bees. I was able to stop and rest as needed on the way up. Definitely a moderate trail. Very fun!

Took me 1.25 up and 45 minutes down. Beautiful views of Millcreek canyon and parleys. Definitely steep the entire way up but a quick and good hike.

Moderate hike with amazing views of downtown Salt Lake City. Will def do again

This hike had some pretty incredible views! The only thing that bothered me was how much exposure you get to the sun in some areas.. so I would suggest hiking this pretty early to avoid the heat. We didn’t see any wildlife.. but the views made up for that. We also managed to lose the trail in one area where there’s a sharp turn, but there’s also another trail going straight at the same point.. if you end up scrambling up sliding red rocks, you’re going the wrong way haha

This is my new favorite! Lots of tree cover on the bottom half, sweet earthy smells along the creek, absolutely stunning views. Did this as a solo hike, and there were just enough other people on the trail that it felt safe, but not crowded. Ample parking @ 7:30am. As others have indicated, do be aware of rattlesnakes, I saw two within feet of the trail. Also got to see a few lizards, and two unidentifiable large birds with unusual flight patterns, perched atop the tallest tree at the peak. I can’t wait to do this one again!

Not sure why this is listed a moderate. I found it to be a nice short and easy hike. It was a cloudy muggy day and we had some sprinkles. At the cairn in the saddle, we took the trail to the south for another view. It was much steeper, but very short and worth the extra 20 minutes.

Once you reach the top it is amazing.

Great hike, especially the views. Lower half has more shade, upper half has better views. Didn't see a lot of wild flowers. There were plenty of hikers with dogs. Lots of lizards. Saw a spotted towhee and a female dusky grouse. Saw one rattlesnake at the very top. Lots of little lizards. Any spot where water crossed the trail was swarming with wasps/hornets on the way up, but we just walked through and they didn't bother us. They were gone by 8pm on our way back. Definitely park at the trailhead vice the the highway. Just enter the Church Fork Picnic Area and keep going by all the picnic spots until you can't go any further.

Decent hike to get you in shape for others. I personally enter the path through the scrub oak at the upper saddle and continue to wire mountain.

An intermediate hike that's in a great location with great views. I love bringing out of town guests and my dog here, but watch out for snakes.

Usually it's pretty crowded. But a nice, quick, relatively easy hike to do after work with your dog.

Overgrown and not much for overviews... there's better out there.

With all of the hiking choices in Millcreek Canyon, I am not in a big hurry to do this one again. I was just out for some exercise this morning, so I hiked an hour up the trail. The first 8/10ths of a mile is a very steady climb, but then it levels off. After the climb, the portion that I hiked did not have much shade, and it was close enough to the Boy Scout camp that I could hear their music and cheers. When I try this trail again, I will start from the upper trailhead to see if I can find a more peaceful setting.

This is a nice trail for running. Once you make your initial climb, you get some good straight shots. We hike from the church fork picnic area and come out at the big pipe with a great view of the valley. You can start climbing again from there or call it a day.

Who doesn't like a good morning exercise hike to sit in the living room and enjoy the view!

It's a fairly steep climb with only a decent view at the top. Parts of the trail were pretty, though. We went around 9am mid-June and didn't see many other people.

It's a short hike. Lovely view of the valley and great spot to enjoy sunset/sunrise.
However, there is always someone up there.

What a great trail. We did this with our four kids (one baby in the backpack) and although there were some parts that were quite steep it was doable. beautiful views toward the top. We didn’t make it the entire 2.2 miles to the turn around so we cannot report on the upper trail

It was a nice shady trail to start out with a great view but overall I was disappointed by the lack of a nice resting place with shade on the final stretch and the fact that they charge $3 to drive up the canyon. I wouldn’t hike it again for those two reasons.

Amazing view. First family hike in Utah. Teenager was first up and first down. My youngest was a little nervous on the last part of the trail before the top.

easy trail, beautiful view!

Good times!! Love it!!

This trail is perfect for someone seeking a moderate hike that still gives them the satisfaction of conquering a peak. It has lots of really pretty views, and you can see mount Olympus, as well as most of the salt lake valley from the top. For those who are looking to intensify their adventure, it also is very fun to run.
