Great little nature trail that takes you on a steep climb to the cave, great overlooks from above the cave, with a little bit of boulder climbing.

A few steep parts on the way down, but easy trail. Great view from the top of the mountain.

Great hike with breathtaking views. Saw lots of chipmunks but no bears! Had bear spray just in case. My husband and I really enjoyed this hike.

Awesome scenery

Very beautiful around the lake!

Great early fall day. This trail is beautiful and very accessible as well. We did the full seven mile loop around the lake without straining. The 700 foot elevation change is mostly in the first mile or so. The rest was just a great walk in the woods. Saw what we believe was a mink, a ptarmigan and even a bear. Fantastic trail!

Beautiful hike! BRING BEAR SPRAY! We were growled at as we switchbacked down the lake. You can read more about it here: https://practicalvagabonds.com/caution-bears-in-the-area/

Great trails with a few wooden bridges and step over barriers to keep the motorized vehicles off the trail. Beautiful scenery and a lot of the trail is under trees. Sharing the trail with bicycles and hikers but most were courteous.

Hiked on 9/4/18 with our two dogs and 2 month old. It was a beautiful September hike. We’ve backpacked this in June where there was a ton of snow so it was nice to see it all dry. Lake was pretty muddy at the beach area where we stopped to relax and have lunch. Nice and easy hike but remember you have to hike up on the way back! We hiked on a weekday and ran into a few other families. I hear the weekends get busy. I highly recommend.

Easy warm up trail with a preview from the rangers in the Rockefeller Center. Reminds you of the great legacy the family left for the public to enjoy

Lovely trail, really. Hubs and I never saw anything clearly marking the trail though, so maybe we didn’t really hike this one. I read the reviews and lots of folks say it’s marked, but we seriously only saw one white fence post with red spray paint that said “SLT”. That’s it. I also never saw anywhere to refill water, like another poster mentioned. We did get some beautiful views and pictures.

Nice trail.
This is part of the sunset trail

great short hike. camped overnight, very peaceful. highly recommended if you're a beginner.

The beauty is amazing and I did see a big black bear about 50 yards away.

I’m not sure why they would call this moderate difficulty as it has no vertical movement at all.

The views are a must. Highly recommended.

The view at the lake when you first arrive is spectacular, perhaps the best in the park. Hike around the lake is easy. Total trip from parking lot is 7.5 miles. Moderate for distance, easy otherwise.

This is a tough one (for me anyway). Long and lots of ups and downs. 1 full mile was a steady up hill clime. Beautiful sights though. My phone died with 4 miles left to go so map does not show all. It also says its a loop and it is but you must walk the road about 1 1/2 miles to get back to your car.

We camped at Dogwood campgrounds then jumped the road to start at Cedar Bluff then we took a right to finish the Skyline Trail. Amazingly marked except the last mile or so when it comes to a dead end at the power lines and then you pretty much keep going straight into some over your head grown grass but there is a trail in there that takes you back to the path. Be sure you will have plenty of water with a filter as it is has some pretty steep parts that make you work. We only came across one very nice campground about 4 miles in from Cedar Bluff start. A black bear did end up running us out of our campsite so they are there and please bring bear spray! We also walked the four mile road back to the campsite vs turning around and going back through the trail so keep that in mind also. Enjoy :)

Easy hike to beautiful lake

Super family friendly..about a mile to the lake, beautiful views, and so peaceful. packed a lunch and enjoyed exploring!

This get five stars mostly for Jump Rock, which was a blast (though the nearby area up the hillside that is used for changing is gross - people crapped up there!). We saw a snake and some mule deer along the path. The views are stupendous. Mostly level and shaded trail.

Fun little hike, enjoyed it with the wife and kids. Close to Cascade and Mccall so lots of people.

Amazing trail! Not too many people. Jumping rock adds so much excitement

We did this hike three days ago. Started pretty early and had it mostly to ourselves. Very easy practically flat with changing scenery throughout. Forest to open meadows and then of course the lake area. Huge bull bison hanging out right off the trail about a half mile in. The area around the lake is lovely and quiet. Lots of lily pads so seems like a good place for moose although we didn’t see any. We’d do this hike again just for the scenery.

Easy but scenic- good one if you don’t have much time.

Take your fly rod. Lots of small Cutts and Arctic Grayling. See if you fish better than the Ospreys flying overhead.

Hard as hell.

easy in. moderate out.

My first solo hike! Only wildlife I saw was a few chipmunks. Finished the loop in 2.5 hours, so I would rate this trail as easy, not moderate.
