Good trail. I took the yellow trail (the 4 mile one) and it was peaceful, only saw a couple of other people towards the beginning and end of the trail. There is a nice little bench and pond area about halfway where you can sit and relax. Definitely will do it again

Super great place to Trail Run, Hike, Bike or just walk your dog. There are quite a few earthen trails throughout the park and they are well maintained. Just don't get confused. Some trails are just access to farm fields. The beach area is great to take a break or have a picnic because there are tables and fire grills. You can even fish or go swimming. Today, I saw quite a few people swimming and a couple were fishing on the Jetty. If hiking, be sure to spray because the flies and mosquitoes were bad in the woods. I even saw two horse flies in the bed of my truck. BIG SUCKERS !!

An urban park trail as linear city trails should be: beautiful as well as usable. It combines access to nature with access to schools, libraries, shops, etc. The trail is used heavily by school kids & parents, dog walkers, runners, a few cross-country cyclists, people going to work. It makes my visits to the Johns Hopkins Library and Baltimore's Museum of Art greener and contemplative.

*** FLOOD CONDITIONS ON THE BALTIMORE. COUNTY. SIDE ***
Today, I hiked the park road on one side of the park heading to the Glen Artney side of the Avalon section. - My pictures depict the damage on that side. - Only a few trails on that side are OPEN. - You can drive up to the Soapstone trail head and hike your way up to S. Rolling Rd. but the trail has a few detours. - The Inner Soapstone trail along Glen Artney Rd. is CLOSED. The Bull Run trail is also OPEN. - If you park up at the Fire Rd. you can hike the Santee towards the Hilton Area but trails leading to the Grist Mill are CLOSED. - The 2-mile Grist Mill trail is CLOSED and will be for the rest of the year. - All the footbridges are washed away. - The parking lot at the Lost Lake Pond is CLOSED. - It was a iffy day with the weather so I hiked the road knowing I could take shelter if needed. - The skies looked bad but the rain never came. - The ( Left ) Howard County side is ALL OPEN. Enjoy !!

it was fun and we had to fight it through

Please remove the protruding blowdown at 39.23987, -76.74987 — it is a true hazard and someone could get hurt. Otherwise, 5 stars.

Ran a segment of the Avalon Loop Trail. Great trail for running, but watch out for bikers!

This segment is one of my go-to courses for training and mile repeats. 4 miles total.

Was okay...but honestly it could be marked much more clearly. We were always a little confused about which trail led where!

Awesome trail. Lots to look at!

This was a pretty easy trail. Beautiful views from the King and Queens seat, but that was the only view on this hike and it was right at the beginning. The rest is a long uphill stretch. Not my favorite hike, but it was nice.

Very pretty park in the middle of a residential area. Trails are marked but its easy to get on different trails throughout hike.

A flat urban hike along Stoney Run that’ is great urban escape to nature. The section between Cold Spring Lane and Wyndhurst Ave is prettiest with large trees and tucked next to homes with big backyards. It also has had restoration work in that area according to a sign on Cold Spring Lane. I didn’t do the section far into Wyman Park because most of it is closed for restoration work.

Nice flat trail for cruising

Opened up again (at least the Morning Choice portion off of Landing Rd). I was here yesterday and despite being a bit muddy, it was a great hike. One of my favorites in close proximity to Baltimore.

Due to the weather we have had as of late, this section of the park is closed. The Avalon Loop doesn’t exist

Flat, open road for running at pace. Some foot and bike traffic, but plenty of room for all. Very scenic and shaded throughout. Porta-potties! ample parking at numerous spots along the route.

Park closed due to flooding in May.

This was my first time on this trail. It took awhile to find the trailhead. Once I found the trailhead, I planned on working the loop in a counterclockwise direction. I got to the top of the loop and could not find where to continue the loop. I tried the path in the break in the woods where the electrical poles are and other paths that took me towards backyards. I ended up backtracking my steps and making it an up and out trail. Lots of wildlife on the trail. My dog and I walked up on multiple deer, a turtle, and the ranger and his horse. I would try this trail again with the plan to go in a clockwise direction to see if the loop is easier that way.

This is a loop trail combining the loggers trail and the yellow trail at this park. It is visually appealing as you feel like you are away from the city. Unfortunately, the road noise will remind you that you are not. Has good ups and downs and some river crossings which were quite fun (good balance and coordination will help or you might get wet). There are other trails and fire roads connected so you need to look up every now and then to make sure you are on the right trail. Trail is mostly well marked on the trees (some markings are a bit faded on the yellow trail) Overall fun little hike. I clocked in at 4.46 miles.

Easy traveling, this is my go-to trail for riding. Beautiful scenery and plenty of stopd, if needed. Sometimes gets a bit crowded but always enjoyable.

Nice easy to moderate trail... only moderate because of some water crossings and a few short steep ascents.

This is definitely a runnable trail for nearly the entire way—just a few places where you would need to walk.

Fun, easy trails with a few water crossings.

I love the blue trail. Its easy and super fun, with small rock scrambles and some little water falls. The only bummer is there is a TON of trash everywhere. Be careful of the broken glass all along the streams edge.
